Chapter 94: Saving Pakura (5)

Ken watched both Jiraiya and Shikuro literally decimate the enemies. They could not even scratch them. But there were still some of them that were giving them trouble.

Well, The Mist shinobi were at a little disadvantage as there was not any water body nearby. Thus, they had to use their own chakra to create water making it very chakra extensive for them. They still had the advantage of being used to the natural mist in the Land of Water.

Ken watched his sensei being protected by the insects that came out of his gourd. And whenever he gets a chance, he would use his forbidden jutsu to deal a lethal blow to his victim.

"How many insects do you think are in his gourd?" Kabuto asked

"Probably a million? Hey Itachi, Use your Sharingan for something productive. Count the number of insects that Shikuro sensei is using."

"Do you mean to say my Sharingan is useless? I happen to remember someone getting caught in my genjutsu again and again."

"I am not calling the Sharingan useless. I am calling you useless. And I only got caught in your genjutsu just two times!!" As both of them bickered, Pakura looked at both of them in disbelief.

"Are all leaf genin like these two? They know that they are still in the enemy's territory right? Yet they are still bickering." Pakura said to Kabuto in a low voice who sighed.

"Not all genin kids are like these two or at least I hope so. Otherwise, the Leaf is doomed."

Pakura chuckled at that but then she remembered her squad whom she might not even meet again.

'I wonder what they are all doing. What are the elders and Rasa going to tell the village about my death? They would not be telling the general public that the mist shinobi killed me since they want peace with them. Konoha is also in alliance with them. Portraying me as a rogue or betrayer would also backfire on them since I am considered a hero of the village. Kumo does not have anything against us. That only leaves Iwa.' Pakura surmised before another thought came to her mind.

'But I can't help but think what if this is Kiri and Konoha's plan to make me think that Suna has betrayed me and left me to die? No then why would these kids want me to join their village since I could easily get to know the truth in the village? They likely would have killed me if that was the case. Why am I thinking about it so much? Why can't I just accept that Suna has betrayed me?'

While Pakura was in deep thought, the genins continued to watch the battle.

Jiraiya was dominating the battle like Ken expected of the Sanin. He was a force to be reckoned with even without being in Sage more or using any summoning jutsu.

His hair elongated to defend himself and even grew sharp and long enough to piece anyone who was foolish enough to get into close combat with the Legendary toad sage.

Jiraiya used various jutsus comprising mostly of Fire Style and Earth style jutsus. But there were still some unusual jutsus that he used. He even saw Jiraiya use Rasengan to break an ice wall that the Yuki Anbu used to defend himself.

Ken knew the reason why Jiraiya was not using any toads and toad jutsus. It was because of the fact that it was difficult to conceal the presence and detection of these jutsus. The toads and the toad oil that Jiraiya uses have a unique smell that can't be erased within an hour or two.

So if someone from Kiri comes to investigate within that duration, they could find out that it was Jiraiya who killed their shinobi. As for Earth-style jutsus, most of the jonins and elite jonins know an Earth-style jutsu as for fire style, it would be believed it was Pakura's doing.

Ken then turned his attention to his sensei who was struggling as five shinobi had surrounded him. He thought of helping him but he would likely just get in the way.

While Shikuro's insects distracted four of the shinobi, he moved towards the last one.

As Shikuro's hand touched a shinobi, he was shocked. Instead of squirming in pain, the shinobi grinned and drove a kunai in his shoulder.

Shikuro could not dodge the blow and was injured but he swiftly kicked the guy to gain distance.

He held his shoulder as he watched the part of the body that he had touched had turned into water and had detached itself falling to the ground along with the bacteria contained inside it.

'A member of the Hozuki clan? I did not think that they could use their secret jutsu like this. This has so many applications. But the lightning weakness is also a significant one.' Ken thought

Shikuro did not appear to be rattled by his forbidden Jutsu not working. He continued to let the insects fight the other four jonins while he again charged forward towards the Hozuki clan member with a Kunai in his hand.

There was a pained expression on his face likely due to his injury but also because of the fact that more and more of his insects were dying continuously.

In their second exchange, Shikuro got better of the Hozuki by using insects that drained moisture from a target.

After he dealt with them, he swiftly dealt with the rest. Jiraiya had already dealt with his targets including the Yuki Anbu.

After a couple of minutes, all the mist shinobis were dead.

"Mission Accomplished" Ken mumbled
