73 Chapter 72: Interlude (1): Hiruzen, The Third Hokage

Hiruzen read the mission reports one by one. He read the report that was submitted by Shikuro about their simple mission which had turned into a blood fest.

"Onoki, that old fox is still scheming against Leaf. Ah well, he is a year or two away from dying from a heart attack. But to think Ken managed to learn and use Karyu Endan in a battle. Thankfully, I learned Sage mode, or else I would have been surpassed by my grandson before he even experienced his first kiss." Hiruzen smiled before his smile disappeared as he looked at the pile of paperwork.

He looked at mission reports one after the other. Since Hanako and Shinsuke had decided to take a leave from Anbu for some time to train, he had to now deal with Anbu mission reports too.

"Kakashi's rate of completion of Anbu missions has increased by a lot. He is completing B-rank missions with fewer injuries and no visits to the hospital because of chakra exhaustion. It looks like sealing his Sharingan helped him a lot in increasing the amount of chakra he has." Hiruzen mumbled and he then read the reports of Mission assigned to Mukai and he was surprised to see him completing a dangerous A-rank mission in quick time without any serious injury too.

'It really looks like Ken is the lucky charm of the village. If only he had an interest in becoming the Hokage, the future of Leaf would be secured. But no, he does not want to become a Hokage because he does not want to do any paperwork. Lazy brat.' Hiruzen annoyingly then looked forward to seeing Shikaku bringing him another set of paperwork.

'Maybe Ken is right, *Sigh* The real me is sure lucky to be training right now instead of reading and signing so much paperwork.'

----In Monkey Summon Land---

Hiruzen was standing alone in a field without his transformation jutsu. He looked as he looked like in his twenties.

He took a deep breath before activating his sage mode.

"Sage Art: Monkey Shadow Clone Jutsu"

Hiruzen plucked a few hairs from his beard as he threw them in the air. They all turned into his clones.

These clones were not like shadow clones. Each of these clones had only fifty percent of Hiruzen's chakra and the same was true for their physical strength.

But even fifty percent of Hiruzen's chakra was equal to some Kage-ranked shinobi like Rasa, the Fourth Kazekage.

The same was true for his strength, the fifty percent of sage Mode Hiruzen was enough to crush boulders with bare hands.

"Now to test their capabilities. First up is durability." It had taken Hiruzen hundreds of attempts to make a perfect sage mode clone.

Sometimes, they would have less than fifty percent of his chakra or sometimes they would disappear with just a scratch.

He used a kunai to cut the entire palm of one of his clones. There was no blood and the hand did not regenerate which was normal.

Clones would not heal themselves until he supplied them with his own chakra to reform them. No blood meant anyone would be able to differentiate between the real him and the clone him.

Hiruzen supplied some chakra to the clone to regrow his arm and it did. The only two things that Hiruzen needed to supply chakra to his clones were to either form them or regenerate them.

When Hiruzen learned of this technique, the only thing, he could describe it as BROKEN.

Shadow Clones that would not go away after taking a single hit. Heck, they would not go away even if you slice them multiple times.

All he has to do is provide them with a very small amount of chakra to regenerate them.

These clones would be able to use every jutsu he has learned. They had the chakra to do so.

But what made this ability truly broken was not the undying nature of the clones, no it was that they took only five percent of his chakra to form a clone. His limit was five clones.

So he would have to use twenty-five percent of his chakra to form five clones with fifty percent of his chakra each. He had asked the sage how did the maths even work for this jutsu.

The sage had told him that that what he was using to make the clones was senjutsu chakra and the clones while having fifty percent of his physical strength did not have access to it and instead used the normal chakra.

He then asked his clones to use ninjutsu to see if they had exactly fifty percent of his chakra or not.

"Good. You have managed to create the clones without using much senjutsu chakra. Their durability and the amount of chakra they have is also perfect. Finally, Our summoning clan will have a sage Hahaha." A humanoid figure with a golden mane and a golden tail laughed.

Hiruzen bowed to his master who taught him all about senjutsu.

"Sage Sun Wukong san it is all thanks to your teaching that I managed to learn sage mode and its techniques in such a short time," Hiruzen said with a respectful voice.

"Yes, Yes, Praise me more mortal. As a gift, You should get me more of this stuff you call Alcohol the next time you visit. Now the last part of your training is to clone Enma in his staff form."

"Yes master" Hiruzen went back to the training.

Truthfully, he liked training a lot. It made him feel young once more and it was way better than doing paperwork all day.
