44 Chapter 44: Genin Test (2)

The three genins took their formations. Kabuto was at the rear as he was the medic and was also going to support them with kunais and shurikens. Although, they did not think that their sensei would try to injure them so much that they would need a medic's help.

Ken knew that the weapons with Kabuto would not even be able to distract Shikuro, let alone harm him. So he gave Kabuto some of his paper bombs.

Itachi and Ken were in the front. They did not follow the plan of going into the forest in different directions as Shikuro's insects would have found them easily and he would have taken them out one by one.

Instead, they decided to stay together and gang up on their sensei.

"You can begin now." Shikuro said rather quietly. Aburame were not really loud ones.

Itachi and Ken nodded to each other as they simultaneously made hand signs for different jutsus.

'Fire Release: Misty Flames Dance Jutsu.'

'Fire Style: Fire Ball Jutsu'

Ken created and blew a flammable gas from his lungs using his jutsu in the direction of Shikuro while Itachi created a fireball that too was headed towards Shikuro.

As the fireball came in contact with the gas, it ignited the gas causing the chain reaction as now a sea of flames was heading towards Shikuro instead of just one rather large fireball.

Ken and Itachi knew that Shikuro would be able to dodge their jutsus easily, thus used this strategy. Besides, since he wanted to check their teamwork, there was nothing better to attack together with a plan.

'Already using a combination jutsu. Well, they sure deserve their reputation as prodigies. This combination jutsu is not a joke either. It reaches the level of a B-rank jutsu.'

'Ninja Art: Insect Jar Jutsu'

An insect dome was created around him.

The dome consists of hundreds of thousands of kikaichu that rotate at speeds higher than even the hyuga rotation technique.

As the fire collided with the insect dome, an explosion happened.

"Did we get him? His insects should not be able to survive the fire." Kabuto said

"He is an elite jonin, you think that his insects would be at the same level as a regular Aburame shinobi?" Ken said sarcastically.

"You are correct," Shikuro said as the smoke cleared after the explosion. While the three genins knew that there was a high chance for Shikuro to remain unharmed, they were surprised to see even most of his insects to survive.

Only a few insects appeared to be burned from that fire.

"While fire is a major weakness to our Aburame insects, We cover this weakness by breeding some of the insects in a fiery environment to help these insects evolve and become resistant to fire. The lifespan of insects is rather short too. So it does not take much time before they adapt to it." Shikuro educated them in the middle of the fight.

Ken smirked as he heard that as he said "Yeah, well what about Lava? Let's see if they are resistant to it too."

'Lava Style: Lava Blanket jutsu'

Ken spit liquid lava in large quantities in the form of a blanket that covered a huge area giving no chance for Shikuro to dodge once again.

Shikuro was surprised to see a jutsu of this level from a 6-year-old. But he just smiled which was hidden by his turtle neck coat.

The insects formed wings behind Shikuro and flew him out of the range at a very fast speed. The lava landed on the ground melting the grass and even the ground.

"What the hell, that's cheating? You can fly!?" Ken shouted surprised to see this absurd thing.

"It's commendable for you to use such a strong jutsu at such a young age. Although you made sure I couldn't dodge the attack,

but since the speed at which the jutsu reaches its target is rather slow, it gave me the time to think and act easily. If you can increase the speed of this jutsu then it would really be a menace for your enemy." Shikuro said but he got confused as he saw Ken smile.

'Huh? Where is Kabuto?' Shikuro noticed Kabuto missing, he was about to search for him but he noticed 10 kunais with explosion tags heading for him from the opposite direction of Ken and Itachi.

'He took advantage of all the chaos to come at me from my blindside. Impressive Strategy.' Shikuro commented in his mind.

He was about to dodge the Kunais when several small fireballs were headed towards him from another direction.

Itachi had used his own fire style: Phoneix flower jutsu to attack in the direction where Shikuro was going to dodge the paperbombs, thus blocking his escape route.

Itachi could not rely on Genjutsu in this battle as the Aburame insects helped their hosts to easily get out of Genjutsus. So it was decided he would provide Ninjutsu support in this battle.

'A two-way pincer attack. Commendable. But have they forgotten my insects can defend me from fire attacks?' Shikuro thought as the insects covered his clothing and acted as a defense for him. Another explosion happened as the explosion tags as well as the fireballs exploded on contact.

But before the smoke got cleared, Ken got below the position of Shikuro who was still in the air.

"I hope this works. I have not really practiced this jutsu." Ken murmured as he formed hand signs.

"Lava Style: Rubber Prison"

Shikuro along with his insects were enveloped inside a rubber ball which was very hard to break from the inside.

Its properties made it immune to almost all jutsus and physical attacks and to a certain extent some weapons. Only the strongest of lightning release jutsus could break through it easily. But sadly Ken's jutsu was not really at that level, but he had used a considerable amount of chakra by supercharging the jutsu to at least make its defense very tough.
