41 Chapter 41: Genin Team

While Hiruzen and Jiraiya were talking with Ken's genin team's sensei, Ken went to the academy where he met Itachi.

The Chunin instructor told them that their jonin leader would meet them in one of the training grounds so they were asked to go there. Their team's third member was already there according to the instructor.

Both Itachi and Ken went to the training ground.

"It looks like we will be on the same team, Itachi." Ken excitedly said to which Itachi could only sigh.

'I graduated early to get rid of him. But we are still stuck together. I should be annoyed but why do I feel happy?' Itachi thought as unknowingly he had a small smile on his face.

On their way, Ken asked Itachi "Who do you think would be our third member?"

"I don't know but according to father it would most likely be a Hyuga or an Aburame or a medical nin to make up for our weaknesses which is sensory skills." Itachi said

'Hmm while it makes sense, I don't think that there is any genius Hyuga or Aburame at this point of time in Konoha. In fact, I don't remember any other geniuses besides Itachi at his age. So it would probably be an older teammate.' Ken thought

'The only genius that I could remember besides Itachi was Yugao Uzuki, the purple-haired girl who loved the coughing chunin exam's proctor.' Ken thought as they finally reached the training grounds.

There was a kid with ash-grey hair with glasses leaning on a tree. He was not much older than Itachi maybe just one year.

As soon as Ken saw who it was, he screamed in his mind 'You gotta be kidding me?!'

The ash-haired kid saw the two approaching as he gave a polite smile to both of them and said "Ah, you must be my two teammates. I can't believe that I am on a team with both of you. I have heard a lot about both of you. My name is Kabuto Yakushi. It's nice to meet you both. I hope that we will become strong shinobi together."

'Of all people, it has to be this guy. Was not he supposed to be taken by Danzo and trained by him? He would complete various spying missions for him and when Danzo found Kabuto to be too dangerous, he would send Kabuto's 'mother figure' to kill him.'

'Nōnõ Yakushi would agree to do this mission as Danzo promised that he would free Kabuto of his duty as a root shinobi if she completes her mission. Little did she know that her target was Kabuto itself. She could not recognize him because Danzo had given him false pictures of grown-up Kabuto. Kabuto would then have stabbed her unknown of her identity.'

'Orochimaru seeing Kabuto's potential told him the truth and thus Kabuto became his right-hand man. He is another poor soul just like Itachi. Why do I have to get stuck with them? Yugao would have been way better. At least, she would have grown hot.' Ken thought frustrated at his lack of luck.

"It's nice to meet you too. My name is Itachi Uchiha." Itachi said politely as he then turned to look at Ken as if to say your turn to introduce yourself.

"My name is Ken Sarutobi." Ken said while inwardly thinking 'You are in the presence of Konoha Royalty. Bow in my presence! Anyways, Now the question is why is Kabuto here in front of me and in my genin team? Is Danzo trying to use him to spy on me? Wait....a second!!'

Ken suddenly remembered his conversation with Hiruzen about protecting the kids in orphanages.

'Grandpa must have given extra security and surveillance to the orphanages making it hard for Danzo to take kids from there. So I changed Kabuto's fate with just a few of my words. Damn, that's insane!'

'Anyways, it looks like the two of them are my team members. I am stuck with the Uchiha prodigy who slaughtered his entire clan including his mom and dad for the village and for the safety of his little brother and on the other hand, I have the future right-hand man of Orochimaru who was also the one responsible for causing the most number of deaths in the fourth great ninja war just because he wanted to leave a mark in this world and have his own identity.' Ken thought

Itachi noticing the silence spoke up "We should discuss about our skillsets before our sensei comes. I am proficient in taijutsu, shurikenjutsu, fire style ninjutsu and genjutsu with the help of my Sharingan."

Kabuto spoke up next "I am a medical-nin, I have learned the mystical healing palm jutsu and chakra scalpel. I have been helping in the hospital to train my skills. I am also proficient in taijutsu."

'So he is already such a good medical-nin. It looks like that I don't have to worry about any injuries other than serious ones with him around. Well, it looks like it's my turn.' Ken thought

"I can use Fire style ninjutsu, Earth Style ninjutsu and Lava style. I am also proficient in Taijutsu. My shurikenjutsu is weaker than Itachi's but not for long. I can also use some sensing techniques but I am not a sensor. So don't expect much."

All three of them thought about their different skill sets and how to use them in a team while waiting for their sensei.

'Don't tell me that we would be getting Kakashi as our sensei. He is the only one who comes late. But he is still very young. Besides, he does not even teach his students anything. Please Don't be Kakashi.'
