Prologue

The Koyama Clan, a clan isolated from the Hidden Leaf Village.

To them, the Koyama Clan was nothing but an extra piece they had for war along with the Uchihas. But they considered the Uchihas more valuable because of their unique eyes.

Considering this, the leader of the Koyama Clan, Teiyu Koyama, decided to never leak the true abilities of their ice blue eyes. Only telling the Hokage that their eyes turn them into ruthless killers and increased their strength, speed, and chakra.

However, some were born with regular blue eyes, and those were mostly women.

The chances of a woman being born with icy blue eyes were only one in five. And if they were born with them, they would be forced into doing training like the men do.

And one of the five women being born with the Seigan, was Erza Koyama. A phenomenal talent that bloomed among the men and women of the clan.

"Erza!"

She shot up from her bed at her mother's voice, quickly getting ready, and putting on her black haori that was embroidered with blue roses.

"Good morning, mother." Erza said as she quickly grabbed breakfast. "Mother? What are you so anxious about?"

Hina Koyama, her mother, turned around with a worried look on her face. She rested her hand on Erza's shoulder and kneeled down.

"Did you forget what today was, dear? It's your first day of the Ninja Academy! You won't be training with them from now on and focus on becoming a ninja." Hina said.

Erza tilted her head, allowing her long black hair to drape over her shoulder.

"Become a ninja?" She said, frowning. "Didn't father say that I was going to become an assassin no matter what?"

"That's…" Hina looked away and sighed, "Your father agreed to let you pick what path you want to pursue after you graduate. It's because you'll be the first Koyama to enter the Ninja Academy, a privilege only you have, that's what makes you special."

With that being said, Erza only nodded her head, and followed behind her mother that was following a trail. As they were leaving, she glanced at the people training intensely.

There were a few questions that she wanted to ask, but decided it was best to ask another time since her mother seemed quite excited about her entering the Ninja Academy.

As they walked through the village, they received stares among the civilians. Some knew about their history and some didn't.

Though, their blue eyes stood out since it gave off a feeling of coldness.

The Ninja Academy, a place where children that aspire to be ninjas go.

However, Erza didn't want to become a ninja. She wanted to become an assassin just like her infamous father.

Finally, they had arrived. Erza was given a sheet of paper that directed her to where her classroom was.

After a quick goodbye, Erza entered the building where many other children could be seen wandering the hallways looking for their classes.

Luckily for her, the class she was designated in was right around the corner.

Erza stood in front of the door and felt the many presences of their chakra signatures.

At the age of twelve, she finally began school. With a sigh, she walked through the door, and welcomed whatever was going to happen from there on.

"Oh! There you are!"

Erza glanced to the right and noticed the teacher had already started taking attendance. Quickly, she slightly bowed, and apologized.

"Sorry for being late, teacher. I was stuck in my thoughts outside of the classroom. I'm Erza Koyama."

"Haha! It's okay!" the teacher said. "I'm Iruka-sensei and why don't you take a seat in the far right corner over there. I'm going to be assigning teams for everyone right now."

Erza nodded her head and walked towards her empty seat. As she was passing through, she took a quick glance at her classmates. A spiky blonde hair kid alongside a gloomy dark hair kid.

'So that's the nine tailed fox kid and the Uchiha.'

There wasn't anything special about the spiky blonde hair kid besides that he had a nine tailed fox inside of him. However, she knew that the Uchiha had an older brother that also had phenomenal talent.

The last thing that she heard about him was that he was helping the Hidden Leaf Village from the shadows.

"...And now we're onto the last few teams!" Iruka said.

Erza widened her eyes in surprise, she was thinking too intensely to realize that her teacher had already started making names.

"Sakura…Naruto…and Sasuke will be the last team!" Iruka said. "As for you Erza, you will be assigned your own teacher as you are more advanced than the others."

This earned a couple complaints from the students as Erza just nodded her head in understanding. From the moment she entered the classroom - no, maybe even before that, she knew just from the way their chakra moved throughout their bodies, she was much stronger than them.

"Hey!" a voice called out to her.

Erza turned to where the voice came from and realized that Naruto was waving his hand towards her.

"Naruto, what is it?" Erza asked.

"Just you wait! I'm going to become much stronger than you and become the hokage!" Naruto exclaimed.

Erza didn't reply and completely disregarded his presence. It would take a long time before Naruto could even catch up to her. By then, she would already have grown much stronger.

"Erza, your teacher has already arrived. He'll be waiting for you outside of the academy." Iruka said.

"Thank you, teacher."

When Erza walked outside of the academy, it was strangely calm, and there was a gentle breeze that grazed her skin.

She frowned and wondered when was it - when was it that she had been put under a genjutsu? Without hesitation, she bit her finger causing blood to drip.

The surrounding place remained the same, but there was no more of the weird feeling she felt when she walked out of the door.

"Not bad, your intuition is as good as they say."

Erza's eyes widened in surprise, she had not expected him to be her mentor. One of the smartest and strongest ninjas of the leaf village, the strongest genjutsu user, and Sasuke's older brother.

"Itachi Uchiha."

"That's right."

A kunai suddenly flew towards her as she quickly dodged by bending backwards when suddenly it was substituted for Itach directing a kick towards her feet hoping to sweep her off the floor.

Realizing this, she did a backflip, and got into a stance. She scanned Itachi's clothing for any other hidden weapons, but the black cloak he wore was covering his body.

"Hmm, you're better than me when I was your age." Itachi said with a smile, relaxing himself.

"Why are you my mentor?" Erza asked, getting straight to the point. "Is it because of our eyes? They contain abilities that no other clans have."

"I guess that's one of the reasons, but because I am one of the few people that can train you to your full potential. After all, you and I both know how much of a talent you are."

"I understand, so when will we begin?"

"I don't like wasting time, so right now, of course."
