15 Chapter 13

'Alright time to get started!' thought Asahi as he looked over at Naruto, a glimmer flashing through his eyes.

'....'

A few moments passed and Asahi didn't move.

'What am I even supposed to start with?'

Yes, Asahi had no idea what he wanted to do right now.

He really wasn't in the mood to practice.

'I mean, is it necessary that I practice right now?'

'Its not like the hokage is paying attention to me right now, he's only paying attention to Mizuki and Naruto...'

After some careful consideration Asahi decided to just chill for a bit until Mizuki and Iruka came.

He looked over at Naruto and just watched him practice.

20 minutes went by in a flash and Asahi could hear some rustling in the trees, like someone was running in them.

'Looks like they're here...' he thought, as he got up and dusted his pants off.

not even 20 seconds later, Iruka came into view.

"I finally found you..." said Iruka with an expression that said 'I caught you red handed, there's no getting out of this'.

Asahi decided to hide for the time being to see how things played out and if his involvement in stealing the jutsu held within the scroll of sealings would change anything.

And sure enough, nothing did change.

After Naruto had finished explaining what happened to Iruka and Iruka's inevitable shock, Mizuki blindsided Iruka and Naruto and threw a few kunai at Iruka.

And then Mizuki proceeded to explain to Naruto about the nine tailed fox sealed inside him and then attempted to kill him but had his plan foiled when Iruka jumped in to save him.

The rest of what happened is the same as what happened in the original Naruto series.

Asahi did find it a little strange that his name didn't come up during Iruka and Naruto's conversation but he didn't dwell on it to much since he already knew the reason.

He can't intervene in events that are happening but he can intervene in events before they happen or after they happen.

For example, after Sarutobi is killed by Orochimaru, although he wouldn't be able to save him while it was happening, he would be able to bring him back from the dead after it happened.

However instead of going back to being hokage he would most likely just resign and the journey for trying to find Tsunade would occur as planned.

Asahi was a little weirded out by this but didn't pay any mind to it.

After Asahi had watched the event transpire he went back to his house and laid down on his bed, closed his eyes, and went over everything he had read.

After about 20 minutes of constant revision he opened his eyes and decided to just go to sleep.

One of the many joys in life is the ability to sleep.

Especially because Asahi had mastered the art of lucid dreaming.

This not only gave him the ability to do whatever he wanted in his dreams but also gave him the ability to make his dreams feel like days.

The concept of time doesn't exist in a dream so just 30 minutes in the real world could be enough time for a normal person's entire lifetime to occur inside of the dream.

This wasn't a skill he had just started practicing in this world either.

He also knew how to do this in his past life except he just mastered in further in this life.

And just like that the entire night passed uneventful.

Asahi woke up, brushed his teeth, washed his face, admired himself in the mirror for a little bit, got dressed and headed to the academy.

When he got to the academy he was 2 minutes late and Naruto was already there.

Everyone was flabbergasted seeing Narutos shiny new headband.

They all knew that he had completely failed the exam before.

"Could it be possible that he stole the headband?" speculated one student.

"That's impossible. He wouldn't be here right now if he did." Another student responded in a tone that mocked the other person and their stupidity.

"But then that would mean that he had earned it himself, right?"

"I guess so...."

Naruto naturally had heard all of these and had a smug look on his face as he glared at Sasuke and glanced at Sakura.

"Hey Naruto, how are you today?" Asked Asahi as he sat down.

"Oh I'm doing good." said Naruto with a smug look.

Asahi acted like he was confused and looked at Naruto's head.

Asahi pretended to just see the headband and acted surprised, saying:

"oh you got your headband!"

"looks like you've finally noticed."

"Yea it wasn't that obvious..." said Asahi as he rolled his eyes and looked towards the front of the class, not wanting to deal with Naruto's bullshit anymore.

A few minutes later Iruka came into the classroom holding different files in his hand.

"Alright class, yesterday you all became genin and today you will be assigned to your respective teams."

"Alright let's get started right away we don't have time to waste..."

"Alright, first up, Ino Yamanaka, Shikamaru Nara and Choji Akimichi you will be on team 10..."

(I don't any teams before the ones that were popular in the anime lol)

"Second, Kiba Inuzuka, Hinata Hyūga and Shino Abarame. You will be on Team 8..."

"Third...."

....

Iruka continued like that until he arrived at what was officially known as team 7.

However this time it was different.

There was another variable that changed things up a little, that being Asahi.

He wasn't in the original series so he's basically an extra.

"Next up is Sakura Haruno, Naruto Uzumaki, and Sasuke Uchiha."

"And we also have one more person that doesn't have a group, you get to choose Asahi." Said Iruka as he looked at Asahi.

Asahi already knew what team he was going to pick (y'all can probably already guess).

And that was of course team 7.

"Um, yea I guess I'll choose team 7."

"And it's not because I'm friends with Naruto or anything like that...."

"I personally feel that they have quite a bit of potential..."

"Yea whatever you say..." responded Iruka as he shook his head.

However it really wasn't because Asahi was friends with Naruto that he decided to join team 7.

Team 7 was just the team that had to most action.

And Asahi discovered one other thing.

He can only interfere with events that happened in the original if he was also apart of them.

The reason why Asahi wasn't mentioned last time during the Naruto and Mizuki confrontation is because he wasn't there.

If he had stayed there things would've been different.

"Alright, all of you go to the designated classroom where you will be meeting with your teams leader."

"Make sure not to mess around while you wait..." Said Iruka as he looked at Naruto.

Naruto was completely oblivious to this.

"Alright I'll let you go now..."

After Iruka said that, he left the classroom and everyone dispersed into their groups as well.

Team 7's classroom actually happened to be the class they were in at the moment.

While waiting Naruto decided to play a prank on their new instructor.

He set up an eraser on the top of the door, just like in the original.

However no one stopped him.

Everyone wanted to see the teacher get hit in the head with the eraser and Asahi just didn't care.

After about 30 minutes there was the sound of footsteps outside the door and everyone looked towards it with expectant gazes.

They weren't so much looking forward to seeing the teacher as much as they were about the eraser hitting him or her.

Seconds passed on the door slowly slid open, causing the eraser to fall.

However the teacher didn't stop it but let it hit him.

Naruto laughed, Sakura scolded Naruto and Sasuke was just disappointed at the fact that their teacher would be so weak.

"Class clowns are always the weakest link to the group..." said Kakashi.

Naruto was angry at this and wanted to punch him in the face.

Sasuke sneered and Sakura agreed with the teacher and started to apologize profusely.

"How about you introduce yourself first." Said Asahi, taking the initiative to break the ice.

"Ah, yes."

"I'm Kakashi, A jonin and your "teacher". Well, for now at least..." Kakashi said as he laughed.

Everyone else was puzzled by his words.

No one but Asahi knew what this meant.

Asahi laughed, looking forward to what was going to happen next.
