12 First mission

"I know" Remaining silent for a few seconds, Naruto turned his gaze to Kakashi and commented "But you know what could separate a theory with reality?"

"Proof"

"Mn" Nodding while lowering his gaze, Naruto continued to shake his legs in boredom and continued "Kakashi-sensei... if you were afraid of a specific clan and managed to wipe them out, wouldn't you be willing to take what made that clan so powerful?"

"..." After a few seconds of confusion, Kakashi opened his only visible eye a little wider and asked "You're trying to say what-?"

"Naruto, you-!?" With disbelief and slight horror in his gaze, Kakashi grabbed him by the shoulder and exclaimed a question, but before he could finish, suddenly the Naruto beside him transformed into a log as a cheerful voice came from the bottom of the tree.

"Looks like Sakura found fresh clues, follow me Sensei" As if he wasn't talking about a catastrophic conspiracy a few seconds ago, Naruto waved his hand towards Kakashi and continued "Quick, Sakura-chan is very excited!"

Opening and closing his mouth as he stared at the boy, finally Kakashi shook his head and nodded as he appeared at his side.

"Let's go!"

A couple of minutes ago while Naruto was conversing with Kakashi, a slightly similar situation was happening on another side of the forest.

"Naruto" Stopping in front of the clone with a serious face, Sasuke asked "Yesterday you were going to say something about my clan, I want to know what it was?"

"..." Being forced to stop his pacing by Sasuke, Naruto stared into his eyes and remained silent for a few seconds, then shook his head and sighed "I'm sorry if he offended you...I was simply furious and wanted to use it as another example that Konoha never helps its allies"

Frowning slightly as he stared at Naruto, finally Sasuke nodded after a few seconds and fell silent.

"That's it?"

"You... how did you become so strong?" with a slight hesitation, Sasuke continued "I'm sure in the academy you would have never been able to take those bells, but just a while later, even I doubt if I can beat you"

"Training every day" Shrugging his shoulders, Naruto continued "Especially my chakra control."

"Chakra control?" With confusion, Sasuke asked "How?"

"Watch this" Approaching the tree, Naruto infused the precise amount of chakra into his feet and began to walk on the bark with ease "Try it, you have to infuse chakra into your feet"

Nodding, Sasuke walked to the tree next to him and stood still for a few seconds, then placed a foot on the bark and instantly frowned as he saw a piece of bark shatter and his foot would not hold steady.

"Uncontrolled chakra not only causes every technique we use to produce significant chakra leaks, but it also limits us quite a bit when wanting to learn something new" Getting down from the tree, Naruto continued "You could try practicing with this, it's kind of difficult, but useful."

Nodding with understanding, Sasuke stared at Naruto for a few seconds as again his expression steadily changed to visible hesitation, then clenched his fists and asked "Can I train with you?"

"With me? The one who almost flunked out of the academy?"

"You know things I don't, and I can see it working" Nodding as he regained his serious face, Sasuke replied.

"Even if it means learning from me?"

"My pride won't make me stronger"

Remaining silent for a good couple of seconds, Naruto finally replied "Ramen"

"What?"

"If we train together, you'll have to pay for all the ramen I eat"

Frowning slightly, Sasuke nodded "Fine"

"Perfect" With a satisfied smile, Naruto continued "If we get off early today, you'll join me, so I can show you where I train"

Nodding, Sasuke turned and continued walking in silence.

'This is totally new' Looking at Sasuke's back, Naruto thought 'No doubt the original will be surprised'

"This way Sensei!" waving her hand towards the duo approaching in the distance, Sakura exclaimed excitedly "I've got a trace!"

Arriving next to Sakura, Naruto stared at the still smoking cat poop next to her and approached slightly, then sniffed and wrinkled his nose as he commented "It's definitely cat"

"And quite fresh, well done Sakura" Nodding towards the girl, Kakashi put aside the great doubts in his mind and asked "Did you tell Sasuke?"

"He's on his way, he was kind of far away"

"I'm already here" Coming walking from the forest, Sasuke looked for a few seconds at Naruto and turned his gaze towards the excrement.

"Mmmm..." Crouching down in front of the excrement, Kakashi looked up behind Sakura and asked "Anyone want to add something?"

"The grass" Coming up behind Sakura, Sasuke stared at the ground and continued "The cat left its trail across the grass"

"Perfect" Nodding with satisfaction, Kakashi continued "They already have a plan to catch it if they see it?"

"It's not just catch it and that's it?" With confusion, Sakura asked.

"Cats are sneaky, they have a great sense of smell and sense of hearing, it won't be that easy to catch him" Shaking his head, Naruto continued "Even more so this cat who seemingly runs away every week and becomes a headache for everyone"

"So what shall we do?"

"Sakura, I think you are the best at transformation jutsu" Looking up at Sakura, Naruto continued "You could try transforming into a cat and trick it"

"You said yourself that the cat has a great sense of smell, it will recognize his scent" Shaking his head, Sasuke continued "I think it's better to just set up an ambush"

"No, no, no" Shaking her head quickly, Sakura exclaimed "I'm not going to smear cat excrement on myself!"

"..." Staring at the bickering trio, Kakashi thought 'I thought it would be hard to make them work as a team, but apparently they'll get along better than I thought...'

"If you have any other ideas, I'll gladly listen" Looking at Sakura, Naruto continued "But if not..."

"B-but why do I have to be the one to use the cat poop!?" In disgust, Sakura continued with annoyance "You better do it!"

"You're the one with the best chakra control among all of us" Shaking his head, Naruto continued "You saw how my transformation jutsu went at the academy"

"B-but..." Opening and closing her mouth, Sakura lifted her gaze to Kakashi and noticed how he was looking at her silently, then dropped her shoulders and sighed "Fine... I'll do it"

"Now that you have a plan, move before it's too late" Nodding, Kakashi continued "Remember, I'm just observing, you'll do the rest"

Sitting among a lush lawn, a slender yellow cat licked his paw in silence, until suddenly a sound made his ears twitch instantly as his gaze stared straight ahead.

"Meow~"

Rising as its tail lifted stiffly towards the sky, the cat stared as the grass in front of it shifted and sniffed the air quickly, then tilted its head slightly "Meow?"

"Meow~" Appearing in front of the yellow cat, another dark cat stared at it as it slowly approached towards it.

"Meow~" Beginning to slowly wag his tail as his defensive stance fizzled out, the yellow cat slowly approached towards the dark cat and meowed with his gaze locked on it, then approached its side and began to sniff it as it circled around it.

"Meow- Now!" suddenly transforming into a human, Sakura pounced on the cat and exclaimed.

"Well done" Appearing along with 3 clones surrounding the place, Naruto instantly pounced on the cat who backed up and shouted.

"Meow!" Instantly bristling, the cat gave a small leap over the head of one of the clones and with a great swiftness, took another leap forward ready to escape.

"Now!"

Falling from the tree, Sasuke stretched both arms towards the cat in the air and leaving it no other escape, held it firmly and landed on the ground.

"Quick, get him inside" Rushing from the forest with a makeshift wooden cage, a clone of Naruto arrived alongside Sasuke and they quickly locked the furious animal inside.

"That's it!" punching the air excitedly, Sakura smiled broadly and exclaimed happily.

"Well done" Approaching the group from the forest, Kakashi looked at the locked up cat and continued "Let's hand him over quickly, we still have to paint a fence and help grow potatoes."

'Damn'

"Here we are" Looking at his training area where there's wreckage everywhere, Naruto took off his jacket and turned to Sasuke who was following him silently "This is where I train"

After an extended day of missions, Naruto kept his word and despite the sunset painting the sky orange above them, they still gathered and went to train.

Looking around, Sasuke focused mainly on the mangled trees and then turned his gaze to the giant lines of blood along the ravine beside him, then looked up at Naruto and observed him meaningfully.

"How many tomoes do you have?"

"..." Frowning slightly, Sasuke was silent for a few seconds and replied "One."

"You can copy techniques already?"

"Just the simple ones"

"Do you think you can copy my shadow clone jutsu?"

"I already know it, I copied it when you used it" Crossing his fingers, Sasuke formed two clones around him and murmured "But I can't form as many as you can"

"That's the difference between our talents" Nodding, Naruto continued "I don't have something as useful as your Sharingan, but I have the advantage that all Uzumakis have."

"Monstrous chakra reserves."

"Exactly" Nodding, Naruto continued "Had you used the clone technique before?"

"No..."

"While this technique has flaws such as great mental fatigue and the need for a lot of chakra, it has a very unspoken advantage" Looking at Sasuke's clones, Naruto continued "You make your clones look at different places."

With confusion, Sasuke nodded as each of his clones looked to a different location.

"Now untie them."

"Exactly" Nodding, Naruto continued "But its use is not so simple if you use it wisely, take for example training with shurikens... usually the training method is to throw them over and over again, no?"

"Then what happens if you do that, but with 3 clones?"

Opening his eyes a little wider, Sasuke quickly replied "You'd train 3 times faster"

"I understand"

"You have to keep in mind the amount of chakra you give each clone, for example, I can create hundreds of clones with a tiny amount of chakra in each one, but that will make them much weaker, while using 10 of them with 10% chakra each one is obviously much stronger... as you improve the use of the technique, you can polish your use of chakra and use less to form more, just as the more you use your chakra, the more your reserves will grow"
