Chapter 3: Teacher Muyue is a Good Person

After returning home, Muyue went to the bathroom and stuck out his tongue in front of the mirror. As he expected, there was a black curse seal on his tongue, the Cursed Tongue Eradication Seal, which is a necessary seal for all Root members.

"Muyue-sensei, I apologize for interrupting your training," Shisui quickly apologized as he regained his composure.

"No worries, I just finished as well," Muyue sighed in relief and invited Shisui into the room.

"In fact, the situation with the Uchiha and the current state of the clan is closely related to your former clan leader, Uchiha Madara," Muyue poured two glasses of water, handing one to Shisui, and started telling him about the Uchiha history.

Shisui fell into silence, realizing that he had oversimplified things in his mind.

"But the story doesn't end there," Muyue continued, explaining how the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, became even more wary of the Uchiha after Madara's defection. As the Second Hokage, Tobirama introduced policies to keep the Uchiha in check, which resulted in dissatisfaction among the Uchiha, leading to a coup attempt and their subsequent imprisonment by the Anbu.

All these events led to a gradual tarnishing of the Uchiha's reputation, overshadowing their past accomplishments and causing them to be disliked by the village.

"I didn't realize so much had happened..." Shisui was surprised by the complexity of the situation.

"But there were Uchiha members who tried to change the situation, and Uchiha Kagami was one of the most successful examples," Muyue shifted the focus to Uchiha Kagami.

"So, Muyue-sensei, what kind of person do you think Uchiha Kagami was?" Shisui suddenly became curious about how Muyue perceived his grandfather.

Although Muyue's words lacked any flattery, Shisui believed it was the best and most appropriate evaluation he had heard so far.

"I want to become an Uchiha like my grandfather!" Shisui's determination grew, though he hadn't noticed that he directly referred to his grandfather.

"Grandfather?" Muyue looked at Shisui with some confusion.

Only then did Shisui realize his slip of the tongue. He didn't want to be seen as seeking repayment out of gratitude; he just wanted to be straightforward about it. So he admitted openly, "Hayabusa-sensei, you don't have to worry too much about so-called debts. If you have the time, you can pay your respects at my grandfather's grave. I think he would be very happy."

"Gratitude for saving your father and mother must be repaid. How about this, Shisui, would you like to become my disciple?" Muyue asked.

Shisui understood Muyue's intention and felt it was unfair to him. However, he didn't want to see Muyue, a person who knew how to repay kindness, struggle. Besides, Shisui thought becoming the disciple of a knowledgeable and powerful teacher like Muyue wouldn't be a bad thing at all. In the end, Shisui nodded and addressed him as "Muyue-sensei."

"But my uncle comes to take care of me from time to time," Shisui explained, worried that Muyue might be concerned.

Muyue nodded, understanding Shisui's situation.
