Strong defense
Sato was deep in thought, yet his focus was still below him. He was sure his last attack didn't do much damage to Fu. She should be up any second now.
*SPLASH*
Suddenly, a large burst of water sprouted out and a massive grayish-blue horn rose from the lake.
*Bzzt*
Without a second thought, Sato stepped on the water and flashed away. The blue lightning surrounding him left a trail of light behind.
*Boom*
The water surface erupted like a volcano once again; it was obvious something big was forcing its way out of the lake.
"The seven tails? Fu transformed completely, but she's still out of control."
"This means it wasn't her who was fighting me; it was her tailed beast. Why is Chomie screaming in pain then?"
Sato rubbed his chin, he finally confirmed who was in control of Fu's body. Now all he needs to do is calm Chomie down.
"It hurts!!"
Chomie buzzed loudly; steam was erupting from his colossal body as if it were on fire.
"I am not a sensor, but this energy is clearly off the charts. That steam isn't normal; it's his body overheating itself and burning from the inside out."
Sato observed Chomie struggle in pain. Sato was starting to see a pattern here. Chomie was doing all it could to use up as much energy as possible.
From the start, Chomie was using Chakra at an exaggerated rate.
"I see; I get it now. That overflowing chakra is destroying Fu's body, but Chomie is connected to Fu, so he's going through the same pain."
"He's trying to save Fu by using up all the excess energy. But this energy boost is unnatural; it's so painful that he's thrashing around."
Sato was frowning in thought, then his face suddenly changed; he quickly activated the lightning cloak and vanished.
*Bang*
Two wind bursts landed on the water, the place where Sato was standing a second ago, and cut through 1000's of tons of water in an instant.
"What's the big idea?! Do you want to kill me or something? At least give me a hint before attacking!"
Sato scolded Chomie and switched into high gear, his lightning cloak slowly turned black; Sato was getting ready, he already had a vague idea why Chomie was attacking everyone.
The fastest way to use your chakra was to fight, at least in the mind of a tailed beast. Sato could think of a bunch of other ways, but Chomie was in pain; he wasn't going to sit down and listen.
Chomie needed to fight and Sato was the only one who could satisfy him here.
"Alright, I need to beat you until your excess energy runs out. This would have been much easier if you were the regular seven tails."
Sato mumbled before rushing towards the flying Chomie. He took back his leg and, like a flash of lightning, kicked Chomie's head.
*CLANG*
A loud metallic sound came from Chomie's skull; his flying body skidded back on the water, raising large waves.
Sato didn't stop attacking; he reappeared above Chomie once again and dropp kicked the insect on its horn.
*Clang*
Once again, a harsh metallic sound rang throughout the battlefield. Chomie stumbled down, his six wings working hard to support his weight.
"Hell stab!"
Sato yelled and used his second-strongest attack on Chomie's torso.
*Zing*
Sparks flew out of Chomie's metal-like shell, a cruel metallic rubbing noise was buzzing in Sato's ear. He shook his dizzy head and disappeared once more.
To an untrained eye, it might seem like Sato had the upper hand, but to an experienced ninja, it was obvious that Chomie wasn't in danger. He was tanking all of Sato's attacks.
Chomie just couldn't react to Sato's speed, but Sato couldn't break Chomie's shell. This was a problem.
If this keeps happening, Chomie will eventually gain the upper hand; he will win as long as he damages Sato enough, but no matter how many times Sato hits Chomie, it won't matter.
"I expected as much; Third Raikage is stronger than me, and he is equal to the eight tails."
"There is no way I am beating the seven tails when he's reaching the chakra levels of Yang Kurama. It looks like he activated the eight gates or something."
Sato grumbled in dissatisfaction, then, out of nowhere, his eyes lit up.
"Eight gates?? Of course! I might know why Fu's body is being destroyed, and why her chakra is so unnaturally high."
"The hero water, they gave her a whole bunch of hero water. How much did they give her man? Her body is almost collapsing."
Sato exclaimed with shock, if someone drinks too much Hero water, that person will age and die. That's probably what's happening to Fu; Chomie is trying to stop Fu's body from collapsing by transforming into his real body.
After all, Fu can age and die, but Chomie cannot; he's a tailed beast. This created a bug in the system.
"Fu might actually survive! That's great—such an amazing bug! I can use this myself if Matatabi helps me out."
Sato's body will not be harmed if Matatabi shares the side effects with him. Tailed beasts can regenerate from everything, even death.
"Sweet! I found a way to drink hero water without dying."
Sato celebrated happily while kicking Chomie from every direction. The fight between Chomie and Sato was intense.
*Bang*
*Bang*
*Bang*
Sato was beating up Chomie at the rate of 3 attacks per second, while Chomie's insect powder was trying to get into Sato's lungs and eyes.
*Boom*
'How long do I have to keep this up? I have the lightning cloak and can keep fighting for hours, but Chomie's got to have a time limit, right?'
*Bang*
"Aah! Dammit!"
Finally, an accident happened; Chomie's leg managed to hit Sato while thrashing around.
A blow equal to Naruto's nine tails struck Sato's back, exploding the air upon contact.
*SPLASH*
Sato hit the water surface and made a big splash. His body slowly started sinking into the lake.
'That hurt! Holy shit, that hurts like hell, but I survived. I survived a full power attack from Yaga Kurama level strength.'
Sato was gritting his teeth; some of his bones were definitely dislocated, but nothing was broken. Thunder armor was definitely strong.
'I need to sneak attack; even a hell stab did not do enough damage. I should use the railgun. I didn't want to do this, but I don't have anything better.'
Sato moved his body and grabbed the dislocated bones.
*Click*
Clicking them back into place, Sato used black lightning and rushed towards the other side of the lake.
He could vaguely see the seven tails buzzing above him; he needed to attack him from a blind spot. Sato swam silently before he saw something weird.
'Wait, what is that? Oh shit! He's charging a tailed beast ball!'
Sato froze. This tailed beast ball was made by the abnormally strong seven tails; this was like an amped attack equal to Kurama's tailed beast ball.
Kurama's tailed beast ball was no joke; it was as strong as all other tailed beast's balls combined. This was definitely a great way to use up excess chakra, but it was insanely destructive.
Sato's best option was to run away; an attack of this magnitude wasn't supposed to be blocked. It was pure suicide to try something like that. But Hinata was right there. Sato could run, but she couldn't.
'I have to block it..! The question is how.'
