51 Rice cake

The next morning Sato got up early, not as early as his subordinates, but it was still pretty early.

"Yawn~ I am not late am I sister? I think Raikage sama called me in the morning today."

Sato walked out of his room while speaking, he was well rested after yesterday night's sleep.

Konoha wasn't a good place to kick back and relax, this was the first time in a week that Sato could relax for real.

"You are not late, sit down, I am making your favourite food today."

Yugito said from the kitchen, she was cooking Sato's favourite food and Hinata was helping her from the side.

Unlike other noble ladies, Hinata knew how to cook, she could take care of herself and everyone around her quite well.

After Sato took her in she wanted to do something for him and his family, she couldn't fight yet so she decided to help around the house first.

Yugito had no problems with that either, she can take care of Sato but she was not interested in taking care of his subordinates as well.

She was the leader of this house, she was not going to feed the bunch of people even if they were children, she was their goddam trainer, and they will respect her as one.

"Yawn~ My favourite? Thanks sister, you are the best!"

"By the way can you let Matatabi out? I want to share today's food with her."

Sato scratched his hair and sat down on the table, Yugito didn't say anything and released Matatabi using a chakra avatar.

Matatabi appeared as a small fire cat and ran upto Sato.

"Sato."

She softly called out to Sato and jumped on top of his lap, Sato petted her while waiting for food.

Soon Yugito set everything up, Neji, Hinata and Karui joined them on the table too.

Everyone started eating and talking, there was no need to be silent while eating in this house, because Yugito didn't like that.

"Sato, I think you should take Hinata or Neji with you today, Raikage sama would want to see the Hyuga children."

"He will judge your ability to take care of them too."

Yugito ate some rice cake while speaking.

She was telling Sato what he should expect from today's Raikage meeting.

"I don't know what he will test you in, but there is one boy you need to defeat if you want to the Raikage."

"His name is Darui, he is a genius with lightning style, he was thought to be the default heir of Raikage before you came along."

Yugito explained and Sato narrowed his eyes.

He remembered this guy named Darui from the original story.

'A genius indeed, Darui figured out black lightning, something which only the legendary third Raikage could do.'

'Not only that, he has the storm release kekkei genkai, a power which allows him to fire laser beams from his body.'

Storm release was an extremely powerful kekkei genkai, it was the only kekkei genkai Madara used and it cut through a truth seeking orb in the war arc.

No other kekkei genkai had enough firepower behind it to cut a truth seeking ball in half, but storm release did.

'The worst part is, this Darui guy successfully became the Raikage in the orginal story, which means he beat everyone else to achieve that position.'

'Now that I want the position too, this guy will be my biggest opponent.'

'Still, I am not too worried, he is nothing as long as I use Matatabi's chakra.'

Sato nibbled on a rice cake while thinking about his opponent.

He was feeding Matatabi some crumbs and petting her firey body.

"Sister, I don't know this Darui guy, but he shouldn't be a problem as long as I have Matatabi's help."

"I know you know that too, so why do you seem worried about this fight then?"

Sato asked curiously, he knew Yugito wouldn't warn him about Darui unless she thinks it was important.

So there must be something he was missing in this situation, something which made Yugito think Darui will be a challenge.

"That's the thing Sato, you can't use Matatabi's chakra in this test, it's a test of your own power."

"Using Matatabi's chakra will be considered cheating."

Yugito said helplessly.

*Click*

Sato's chopsticks snapped, his eyes widened after Yugito told him this.

"I can't use Matatabi's chakra?? And I am supposed to fight against actual geniuses like this?"

"How am I supposed to do that? Matatabi is the only reason I can fight above my weight class."

"I am not a real genius, I am a fake one, I can't do shit against them with my average talent."

Sato gripped his hair in despair, he was confident in taking down Darui before, but now he wasn't so sure.

Darui at his strongest might be an elite jonin to base kage, but even that was much better than his sorry potential as a special jonin to jonin.

"It's okay, do your best, I am sure you can think of something."

Yugito shrugged with a helpless smile.

She wanted to help but Raikage's test was a sacred one, she can't do anything even if she wanted to.

'Shit, now I need to look out for storm release and lightning style.'

'I can't spam body flicker and chakra enhanced strength to win anymore.'

Sato gritted his teeth in anger, he was clearly frustrated at his lack is of natural talent.

He understood Orochimaru's desire to get an Uchiha body now, talent was really important in this world.

"Sigh, whatever, I'll think of something when I meet my opponent."

Sato rubbed his hair and quickly ate the remaining rice cakes, he was no longer in the mood to enjoy his favourite food.

His mind had wandered off to other places, he was thinking of ways he could defeat Darui and pass the test for Raikage position.

The situation wasn't in his favour, but Sato wasn't a weakling either, he might not be as strong as Darui, but that didn't mean he can't beat him up.

'Darui, when I am done with you, you will curse the gods who made you fight me.'

'How dare you decide to stand against me and flaunt your talent!'

Sato gritted his teeth and Darui shivered at his home, unaware that he had been targeted by a really petty reincarnated soul.
