59 Itachi's realisation

Sato and Yugito looked at each other, their thoughts were something along these lines.

'Itachi told Hiruzen that Shisui is coming for me? This might be a problem, Itachi is really..'

'Uchiha's young patriarch is a moron, he betrayed Uchiha, This clan is finished.'

Yugito completed Sato's thoughts as if both knew what the other was thinking.

But Sato wasn't as hopeless as Yugito was, there was still a way to save the situation

Seeing that Shisui was too heartbroken to speak, Sato coughed and decided to do it himself.

"Ahem, Itachi right? We can kill you after you clarify something for me, can you tell me why you did this?"

"Spy on the Uchiha, spy on your Shisui, betray your clan?"

"You don't look like an idiot at least, you must have some reason."

Itachi turned towards Sato and looked at him calmly, his mangekyo was still active and he was starting directly into Sato's eyes.

Sato's hair raised on end when this happened, and he silently focused towards Itachi's nose instead of his eyes.

He didn't want to look Itachi in the eye, Mangekyo justus were weird as hell, who knows what kind of justu Itachi unlocked.

Even if he has the same justu he had in the orginal story, it was still hella dangerous.

"My my, don't scare me Itachi, I am trying to help your clan here."

Sato smiled and tilted his head, Itachi blinked but he didn't turn off his Mangekyo.

"...How can I trust you?"

Itachi was not dumb, his problem was that he was a bit too smart for his own good.

Sato didn't know what kind of plans were forming in Itachi's head right now.

But he didn't need to know, he was not a fool either, sometimes talking to smart people was easier than talking to fools.

Sato patted the floor with disbelief, Itachi was taken aback by Sato's outburst.

"If you are genius then think of ways to expose Danzo you idiot! He is obviously a villain."

"All your troubles exist because of you, you are the ones who pushed your clan to the edge of death!"

Sato took a deep breath and calmed down, he was feeling frustrated after meeting Itachi.

This man was an imbecile, Sato had no other words to describe him.

"Tell me Itachi, don't go around in circles, why did you betray Shisui."

Itachi pursed his lips and said softly.

"Hokage sama told me it's for the Konoha's peace, and it's temporary."

"Also my father told me Uchiha is being targeted, and I need to spy on Hokage."

"Between my father and Hokage only Hokage wanted a peaceful situation, I don't want another war to start, so I worked for him."

Itachi gave his answer in a simple way, it made sense to his mind, until Sato broke it down for him.

"And how the hell do you know Hokage wasn't just lying to you?"

Itachi blinked and thought about it for a second, before he replied unsurely.

"He is the Hokage.. why will he lie to me."

Both Yugito and Sato looked at Itachi like he had lost his mind.

Yugito even asked with a frown.

"Were you brainwashed?"

Sato scratched his hair and told Itachi.

"Okay, I'll bite, Hokage told you so it must be true!"

"Then I, the next Raikage is telling you this, the only way to achieve world peace is to kill Sasuke Uchiha."

"Please go ahead and do that, I promise you Hidden cloud won't attack Konoha as long as you live."

"There you go, world peace established."

Itachi's eyes shrunk, his Mangekyo shone red light.

He snapped when Sato spoke about killing Sasuke, his brother was the only person he couldn't bear to hurt.

"What's the matter?? I am the next Raikage, I must be telling the truth, don't you want peace??"

"Go ahead you fool, what better way to achieve peace than to kill someone for it."

"Do you see how stupid that sounds? Your Hokage is talking nonsense about peace all day long while killing everyone that affects his position."

"It's ridiculous that you don't see what's wrong with this."

Sato's mocking words hurt Itachi's ears, he frowned and closed his eyes with pain.

Sato might be calling Itachi a moron, but once again, he was not a fool, his problem was being too smart.

When someone is too smart they start to act like an idiot in many things, the same happened with Itachi.

Itachi ignored the most basic thing he should have thought of, which is to see if the Hokage was telling him the truth.

He always assumed the kind grandfatherly Hokage must be working for the village, that was how it was written in textbooks.

He was supposed to be the strongest Hokage right?

But now that he was thinking from the perspective of another village's future Kage, he realised how naive he was.

"...I only told Hokage sama about your Mangekyo, he must have told Danzo about it, even though he promised me that he won't tell anyone."

"Shisui was attacked after Hokage sama called him in the middle of the night.. there is a 80% chance he is involved in this.."

Itachi closed his Mangekyo and wilted like dying flower.

"I was wrong.. I should had never trusted the Hokage blindly."

"Forgive me Shisui, I made a big mistake."

Itachi bowed to Shisui.

Shisui pursed his lips and sighed, after Itachi explained his actions Shisui understood his choice.

He patted Itachi's head like a big brother and smiled.

"It's okay Itachi, it's not your fault."

Itachi looked at Shisui with guilty eyes but Shisui still had a warm look.

Meanwhile both Yugito and Sato were thinking.

'No it's entirely Itachi's fault! What are you talking about?'

But the brother and sister didn't speak in between the two Uchiha.

These people were always too emotional about everything.

After a minute passed and the duo were still looking at each other warmly, Sato coughed and broke them apart.

"Ahem."

"If you guys are done, I would like to announce our next plan of action."

Shisui and Itachi quickly sat straight, Sato silently folded his hands and announced.

"Uchiha can no longer stay in Konoha, so I am willing to give them shelter under me."

"But I won't do it for free, what I will do is not good for Konoha but it will maintain peace."

"I hope you understand my position, I am the Raikage heir, I will never do anything to make Konoha stronger, it's not in my best interest."

Shisui and Itachi nodded after some thinking, they had no comments about this.

Shisui already knew about Sato's petty nature while Itachi was someone who can kill thousands in the name of peace.

As far as Itachi was concerned, Sato can burn half the Konoha if it brings peace, Itachi was extremely ruthless when he decides upon something.

Sato smiled widely when he saw the two kage level experts agree to his plans.

Clapping happily, Sato announced.

"Wonderful, Konoha made me break my promise with Naruto that day, I couldn't meet him even when I promised him, I haven't forgotten that disgrace."

"Revenge will be served! I will turn the whole Konoha upside down!"

"Hahahahaha!"

Sato's villian like laughter echoed around the place, it was making the two Uchiha concerned if this was actually a good idea.

Sato might not cause a war, but Konoha will be broken apart piece by piece if he runs loose!
