15 Stay The Night, Will You?

Beneath the gentle glow of the moon, Naruto, Sakura, and I find ourselves at a small chicken skewers stand, the savory aroma of grilled meat wafting through the night air.

I lean against the stand, gazing up at the stars dotting the sky. The elemental nations had their own constellations, different from those from Earth. After sixteen years here, they were now familiar. My eyes traced the Sage's bow as I chewed slowly.

"You know, when I heard I'll be studying under Kakashi sensei, I was disappointed." Sakura soft voice breaks the silence. "I asked myself, 'why didn't I get a kunoichi like Yuhi Kurenai?' But now, I think Kakashi sensei's the best choice we could have gotten."

I nodded in agreement.

"Surprised?" Naruto chuckled. "I think everyone has been used to his laziness and late coming that they've forgotten he was once an ANBU captain. Konoha's only copy ninja since the Uchihas left."

"How did he get a copy seal anyways?" I asked. I've always been curious about that. The Sharingan is no longer an eye that can be implanted with surgery and from my personal experience, I know that seals are super hard to decode.

"No idea." Naruto shrugged. "No matter how much I ask, no one would tell me."

"Probably because the whole year will find out about it the next day." Sakura scoffed.

"What do you mean?" Naruto puffed himself up. "I'm perfectly capable of keeping a secret. It's not my fault I'm more well informed than everyone else."

"Keep telling yourself that."

"It's the truth!"

Sakura hummed dismissively.

"You don't believe me?" Naruto turned to me. "Back me up here, Yuji. Tell her it's the truth."

"Well..." I scratched the back of my head, grinning, "I wouldn't know if that were true. I don't know if you have secrets now do I?"

"Come on." Naruto groaned as Sakura laughed. "You guys are the worst teammates ever." I gave him a pat on the shoulder.

Naruto took a bite from his skewer before asking. "What would you guys choose? The leadership or your teammates? As for me I'll-"

"Shut up." Sakura said flatly and Naruto stared at her in surprise. "You were about to go on a long speech about your ninja way, weren't you?" Naruto's surprise morphed into a sheepish grin. "You're not supposed to tell anyone, at least not yet. If you've figured it out, keep it to yourself."

"She's right." I accepted a new skewer from the vendor with a thankful nod. "Kakashi sensei entrusted us with this decision. If he wanted us to share it, he would have said so. Besides, we'll know later. Your ninja way would be just as visible in your actions as it would be in your words."

The sound of chewing filled the air once more.

"It's late. I'm going home." Sakura sighed. "See you guys tomorrow. I literally can't wait. Maybe Kakashi sensei would teach us something just as meaningful as today."

Naruto scoffed. "If he does, then it's an enemy ninja infiltrating the village."

"Whatever." She left, her pink hair swaying in the gentle breeze.

As I finish my skewer, a sense of weariness washes over me. Why do I feel like I worked harder today than I've ever worked in this life? "I think I'll head home now." I spoke.

"Okay." Naruto nodded. "I'll be meeting my mom at Ichiraku's. Tonight is ramen night."

"Mama's boy." I teased.

"With pride." He grinned, giving me a thumbs up.

Very soon, I was walking alone on the way home. Kakashi's words kept ringing in my ears. Hard choices.

Ever since I woke up as a kid in this world, I've never really took anything serious. No matter how much the Naruto universe seem like a hard world to live in, it isn't. Surviving isn't that hard. Just live a comfortable life, working as a civilian.

What do you do when Orochimaru and Suna invade? Hide in the basement. It's ninjas fighting ninjas anyways.

What do you do when Pain comes around? Take a vacation or better yet, just stay. You'll experience death a second time and you'll be brought back to life anyways.

Better yet, immigrate to Suna. Nothing ever happens there. All you need to do is avoid the places kid Gaara frequents and you'll be fine.

Fourth shinobi world war? The ninjas would be the one fighting and dying.

No matter how I looked at it, I would have been fine, so why did I become a ninja. Because I thought it would be fun and guess what? It was fun. The feel of Chakra coursing through the body as you practice Taijutsu. Late nights spent trying to improve the standard bushin seal.

Now that I'm a ninja. It'll still be fun but now, it's real. Naruto feels just as real as every other person I knew on earth. He loves ramen. When we were thirteen, he loved picking his nose when he thought no one was watching.

Hard choices. Damn you Kakashi.

In no time, I was in my room in the orphanage. Cardboard boxes were open as I sought out my belongings. I'm moving to a new home. The thought of Tenten and all we'll eventually be doing together placed a smile on my face.

True, she's the boss of the show for now, but I'm sure that'll change later. Will she be the first member of my harem?

I was jarred out of my thoughts by a knock at the door. I turned to see Miss Nao standing there with a soft smile on her face. Her big breasts and shapely figure looked radiant in her yellow dress. The perfect milf.

"How is the packing?" She asked.

"I'm almost done." I looked around the room. Most of my personal belongings had been packed into the boxes at my feet. Most of them were scrolls of experimental seals I'd been working on. They weren't much but they were all I had.

"I think it's time for me to give you your gift."

I whirled around to stare at her, almost stumbling. "A gift?"

"A going away present." She smiled at the surprise on my face. "Follow me. It's in the basement."

A gift? I followed her immediately. This'll probably be the first gift I'll be receiving in this life. We passed through the deserted corridor and entered into the dark basement.

"Close the door behind you." She spoke and I did. We descended down the stairs.

"Wait here." Miss Nao whispered to me. I could hear the sound of her feet as she padded across the room.

After thirty seconds, the light of the basement clicked on. My jaw fell open.

In the basement was a big bed and standing next to the the bed where the light switch was, stood Miss Nao. She was as naked as the day she was born, her yellow dress on the floor around her feet. "What do you think?" She asked. "Do you like it?"

I choked, dumbfounded. Most kids in the orphanage upstairs would kill to be where I'm standing.

"Stay the night, will you?" She whispered, a soft smile on her face. "Let me give you a memory to remember me by."
