25 Ch. 25 Tragedy

Limping slowly, Chiba arrived at the gates of the Ninja academy and waited for school to be out to as he thought about his current problem.

'My system grants me overwhelmingly powerful abilities that put most Kage to shame, but the abilities are extremely chakra taxing and my system doesn't grant me any physical strength or increase my chakra. I'll have to put off everything else until I can seal a powerful animal, granting me the chankra that will make the world know my name...'

*Ding Dong*

As he heard the bell ringing and the running footstep of the children who eventually entered his Haki range, Chiba saw Koizumi and immediately realize something was wrong.

Her aura was that or sadness and grief as her face was listless and stoic. The moment she saw Chiba, a look of relief appeared on her emotionless face as she ran over and tackle hugged him

Chiba felt how hard she was hugging as she buried her face into him, eventually starting to cry softly.

"Your alive *Sob* I'm so glad *Sob* I didn't want to lose you too." In between her crying, Chiba realized what happened. The outpost that Koizumi's parent were stationed at must've attack.

Chiba, being stationed at war, naturally didn't realize this even though it happened over a month ago.

The people walking around the two with a look of understanding, it wasn't a strange sight at this point in time to see people grieving for their family members.

Chiba's felt sadness at the death of Koizumi's parents, but it was akin to the sadness one felt for the death of a casual friend rather than a family member.

Her family took him in and treated him well, but they had spent the majority of both Chiba and koizumi's life fighting in the war. He didn't meet or know the two well enough to start grieving like Koizumi but he was incredibly thankful to them.

"ssh ssh it's okay, it's okay." Comforting his sobbing sister, he slowly walked them back to their house and sat them down on the couch.

After thirty minutes of consoling, Koizumi stopped crying, allowing Chiba to asked the question he had on his mind

"Koizumi, how did it happened?" Chiba said as he patted her back.

"They were stationed at the Kuza river passage ways in Konoha territory, they were waiting for the supplies from the land of fire when Kirigakure attacked! They were lead by a Shinobi name Ao, and there is a report that this Shinobi stole my Father's sharingan and replaced his eye with it!" Koizumi shouted out in anger

Through his observation Haki, Chiba sensed the chakra unique to the sharingan start moving towards Koizumi's eye before stopping.

"I'll kill him! I swear I'll kill him!!" Koizumi yelled as Chiba witnessed her Sharingan chakra stopping at her neck, not advancing any further towards her eyes.

Seeing his little sister so emotional and unhinged, Chiba felt like he had to bring her back to reality, even if it would hurt her. Putting his hand on her shoulders, Chiba spoke stoically.

"Koizumi, I know this will sound harsh to you, but you are untalented. This is an undeniable fact. If you try to kill this Ao Ninja, you will die to him. Leave him to me and I'l-" slapping his hand off of her shoulder, Koizumi's face was that of anger.

"No! It has to be me!" Koizumi screamed out as the idea Chiba put forth angered her greatly. The more she thought about the situation, the angry she seemed to get as the anger shifted to the closest person to her, Chiba.

".....You think I'm just a dumb child but I can tell! You don't care about my parents at all! You are just a blind mooch that my parents took in out of pity! You always act like I'm a hindrance to you!...We are not even family, you are not my actual brot-" *SMACK*

Koizumi felt her face stinging in pain and had a red hand Mark was on her cheek as Chiba slapped her out of her rage, stopping her from speaking words that should couldn't take back, Chiba spoke sincerely to his little sister.

"Your father, Kinase, and your mother, Mina, are the closest thing I have to parents in this world. Maybe they did helped me because they pitied me and only saw me as a leech, but I am still incredibly grateful to them." Tears started welling in Koizumi's eyes as she realized what she had said.

"Despite us not actually being blood related, I truly see you as my little sister. If you don't believe this, then maybe I have failed as your brother and I'm sorry." Reaching forward, Chiba pulled the ashamed Koizumi into a hug.

"But no matter if you hate me or see me as a leech, I'm still gonna be your big brother and will love you all the same." This was the final crack in her Armour, as Koizumi once again burst into tear as she clung onto Chiba.

"I'm so sorry onii-chan! I was just so angry and I lashed out at you!" Koizumi said as she realized she could have lost her only other family member because of her anger.

"It's fine Koizumi, I'll always forgive my little sister." Chiba said as he finally understood the curse of the Uchiha first hand.

'It appears that the unique Uchiha chakra responsible for awakening the sharingan, also heightens emotions. Having extreme emotions while also having overwhelming power is just a bad mix, I can see why those in power would be afraid of the Uchiha clan.'

"I was being irrationally angry brother.....but I was serious about killing Ao myself!....Please brother, training me!" Hearing her request, Chiba felt his heart hurt.

"Koizumi...I can get you to beat this man, but doing so will come at a cost. You might hate me afterwards... Do you still want to proceed?" Looking at Chiba, Koizumi's eyes remained unwavered.

"I will never hate you, so I wish to proceed brother!" Feeling the determination flowing from her, Chiba nodded and immediately stood up.

"The way you are now, it would be impossible to beat Ao who now has a sharingan, we'll need to even the playing field." With a confused expression, Koizumi followed Chiba as they walked deeper in the Uchiha compound and arrive at a giant house!

"B-big bro! This is the patriarchs house, we Can't ju-" "Silence Koizumi, you'll remain out here as I talk to him inside".

Koizumi watched Chiba knock on the door, and when her clan Patriarch opened it, Chiba walked in after a short greeting.

Koizumi waited outside and looked at the beautiful Sakura trees when she suddenly heard the door opening.

Looking back, she saw a pair of red eyes staring down at her from her patriarch before Chiba walked over to her.

"Good news Koizumi, after talking to the clan Patriarch, I manage to convince him to take you on a- ARRGH!!" Blood splattered all over Koizumi's Frozen face as she saw the the hand of her clans Patriarch piercing through Chiba's chest, a pool of metallic smelling blood began forming under him.

"A pathetic blind genin thinks he has the right to come to my house and disturb my rest?!? Wanting me to take in a pathetic orphan who was born from the talentless Uchiha that gave the clan's Sharingan to outsiders!?! Know your place!" Fugaku yelled in pure hatred

Pulling his hand out of Chiba's chest, Chiba staggered forward as he hugged Koizumi weakly. Koizumi felt the warm blood leaking out of chiba stomach and onto her as she smelt the overwhelming scent of iron and feces as Fugaku's hand had pierced through Chiba's intestines, spilling it's contents.

Using his remaining strength, Chiba pulled back so Koizumi could look him in his face as he said his final words.

"I'm sorry for being a failure of a brother.....Remember.....Ill always love you..." Chiba cold body went limp in Koizumi's arms as she started crying.

These weren't normal tears, Koizumi cried tears of blood as she opened her eyelids to reveal a set of blood red eyes!
