17 Ch. 17 Battling a Jonin
Standing on the edge of the tree line, both Chiba and Hanbi saw the fabled Kannabi bridge and the multiple guards patrolling it. Standing there, Chiba expanded his observation Haki to the entirety of the bridge and the forest on the other side.
"Your Intel was right, 9 Chunin and 3 Jonin are stationed on the bridge, however I sensed an additional 4 Chunin underground waiting. They are rock ninja after all, they probably have underground tunnels throughout their entire territory." Chiba relayed what he sensed.
"I see, this will be tricky to pull off..." Hanbi was thinking intensely about how to face this task.
".....If I may, I don't think we should run away, we should fight them..."
"Fight them?!? Are you insane? We'll have a tough time escaping them, let alone trying to kill them." Hanbi immediately disregarded the idea.
"As long as we can kill the three jonin, then clearing out the remaining Chunin would be quite easily." There was a reason Chiba said this.
If he remembered correctly, Rin should be kidnapped soon, causing Obito to get crushed by a boulder as Kakashi fights off the enemy Shinobi before blacking out. In the anime, Kakashi awakens only to find out Minato had saved him and completed the mission by himself even though he was only supposed to back them up
Their squad gets completely take out before they could even start the mission, forcing Minato to complete the entire mission by himself as he defeats the guards and destroys the bridge.
This gave Chiba and Hanbi an opportunity to earn a large reputation and get credited for saving the mission that Kakashi's squad failed at.
"Hanbi, please trust me on this. I have complete confidence that we can take the bridge on our own. Not only that, but my plan heavily reduces the danger that you will face." Hanbi stopped looking at the bridge and onto Chiba.
Thanks to the long conversation that they had, Hanbi didn't see Chiba as a subordinate but as a new friend, and his friend is asking to be trusted.

With a loud thudding, multiple trees on the edge of the forest were cut down and landed on the bridge.
Every Stone ninja turned and saw a kid running into the forest, the boy couldn't have been older than 8 from their guesses.
The three Jonin on the bridge looked at each other as they started talking in their village's secret sign language. With a nod, a single jonin and his squad of three went after the boy as the remaining ninja stayed on the bridge, guarding it and getting ready to call for reinforcements if necessary.
Chiba sensed the Ninja closing in on him as they were physically much faster than him, but he felt relieved at the fact they only dispatched one Jonin squad to investigate.
Ducking his head, a shuriken just narrowly missed him as he the kept on running while avoiding the enemies long ranged attacks.
Feeling his legs burning in pain and his lungs on fire from running, he used every ounce of strength to try to keep ahead of the Stone ninja as he finally reached his goal.
Deep in the middle of the forest was a lone bonfire, its giant flame stood in contrast to the darkness as it filled the entire surroundings of the forest in shadows.
The boy came to a stop Infront of the fire, allowing the Ninja to see that the boy was actually blind!

Appearing out of the shadows were two shadow clones of Chiba wearing maskings to conceal the fact they were clones. Chiba and the clones surrounded the stones Ninja.
"Really? Your short heights and low chakra reserve must mean that you three are just genin, and your trying to surround two chunin and a Jonin ninja? This war has gone on too long, Konoha Is now using mentally ill children to fight now." The Stone Ninja said mockingly, as the imagine of a shuriken suddenly pierced through Chiba's eyes entered his mind.
Tilting his head to the side, a shuriken suddenly flew past Chiba's head as the Jonin threw it at supersonic speeds.
'Holy Shit!' Chiba was keeping his cool on the outside, but his mind was freaking out.
Suddenly seeing yourself dying and then only have a second to avoid your death was a complete shock to Chiba. The most he ever used it on was dodging punches from Itachi, never to prevent his own death!
Jumping forward, Chiba unsheathed his sword and slashed at the Jonin, only to feel as he had hit an iron wall as the Jonin blocked the attack with a single handed kunai.
The image of the Jonin taking out another kunai with his left and stabbing Chiba through the skull entered his mind. Jumping backward, Chiba just barely dodged the Knife as the headband on his forehead had been slashed.
Chiba was nearly hyperventing at seeing himself die everytime he clashed with the Jonin ninja, but his memories of Fujitora's life and death experiences helped calm him down.
'Calm down Chiba! You just need to stop him for half a second and the fights over!' through his Haki, Chiba saw his clones barely able to stall the Chunin as it was 3 on 2.
Feeling his chakra at an all time low, Chiba took out a foul smelling black ball and swallowed the big pill as he felt his sore muscle go away and his Chakra refill back to full. The military ration pill restored the tired and low chakra Chiba back to prestine condition.
Chiba guessed that he had around low Chunin level of chakra and strength thanks to the intense work out from his daily quests, as the template system didn't actually make him physically stronger or increase his chakra. This was already insanely impressive for a six year old to achieve, but it was the bare requirement to use his chakra heavy ability to see the future
Having to split that chakra into two shadow clones left him and the two clones at genin strength.
Seeing the young child eating a ration pill to recuperate his strength, the Stone ninja was completely confused as to why someone would ambush him when they were weakened. The Stone Ninja became more vigilant as he realized just how strange this 'ambush' was.
Both Chiba and the jonin ninja silently stood their, sizing each other up as the chunin were fighting his clones in the back ground. With a burst of speed, the Jonin threw both kunai in his hands at insane speeds as his hands turned into a flurry of hand sign.
Chiba thrusted his sword forward at the first kunai and slashed it out of the air as the second one slipped past. Using every ounce of strength in his body, Chiba shifted himself so that the kunai landed on his shoulder, sinking halfway in.
As he was reeling from the pain, the image of himself being skewered by earth spears appeared in his mind and he jumped back, only for a sharp piece of rock to fly out of the ground and pierce his calf, breaking off and staying in his leg.
Hopping on one foot, Chiba raised his blade just in time to block the tanto blade of the Rock Shinobi, sending him flying backwards into a tree, knocking the wind out of him.
The bonfires flickering light seemed to dance in excitement, cloaking the surroundings into an even denser cloak of shadows.
Laying on the ground desperately grasping for air, Chiba understood the difference in strength between a chunin and a Jonin Ninja. His swordsmanship may surpass the majority of shinobi in this world, but when he Is significantly slower and weaker than his opponent, it doesn't matter.
Forcing himself to quickly stand up, Chiba saw the Jonin Ninja looking disappointed at his three squad mates struggling against the two masked genin.
Deciding on letting them fight it out, the Jonin Stone Ninja left his teammates as he started walking to Chiba nonchalantly. Seeing how easy it was to fight Chiba, and how wounded the blind boy was, the stone ninja relaxed his guard.
"You know for a blind kid, you have incredible evasive maneuvering. While you might not be that smart, you should be proud of the strength that you've gained in the little time that you have lived." The Stone Ninja watched Chiba sheath his sword, thinking that he gave up.
"And you accept your death with honor, you have the soul of a warr-" Every muscle in Chiba's legs tensed as he activated his Soru and added the flickering body technique on top of it.
The Soru technique temporary increased the muscle strength in his legs greatly, physical making him faster as the flickering body jutsu enhanced his speed even further through the use of chakra!
Stepping forward, Chiba's sword moved at a speed beyond his level as he drew the sword shot out of its sheath like a rail gun as he performed Iaido. The sword cut the wind apart as it aimed for the Ninjas neck, intent on decapitation the Ninja.
With every hair standing on end, the veteran Jonin Ninja's instincts told him to jump back even before Chiba Drew his blade. Trusting his instincts, the stone ninja just narrowly jumped back in time as the blade lightly grazed the skin on his neck.
Despite this being his being his strongest technique at the moment, it failed at killing the ninja, but it did not matter as a Chiba knew he had won.
From the shadows, a snake like tentacle of darkness used the bonfires light to travel through the shadows and towards the Jonin. The stone Ninja was still mid air when he suddenly sensed this chakra hiding tens of feet away, not allowing the Ninja to dodge.
The Stone ninja desperately started making hands signs but it was too late, the dark tentacle connected to the Jonin shadow as the man came to a sudden stop when he landed.
'Shadow Bind Jutsu!'
"Wait I have valuable in-"
With a sigh of relief on the wounded Chiba's face, he shakely lifted his sword and ran it through the Stone Ninjas eyes, not listening to the man's attempt at stalling for time to either call for his squad mates or break out of the jutsu.
