Chapter 3: academy first year

I wake up early as usual , I was about to start my morning routine, get some meditation before it's time to head to the auditorium, but I stop to see that Zabuza is awake as well, doing push ups ' no wonder he became so strong in the anime' . I stop to say hi and not waiting for a reply, I carry on with my day.

We head to the auditorium to see hundreds of children waiting. Someone comes in, and everyone recognizes him he is the third mizukage, he starts saying some propaganda shit that I tune out ' damn does every kage say this shameless self-promotion' .

A chunin comes in and starts dividing us into classes . Class A and class B are clan children classes, class C and D are rich civilian classes , class E and F are civilian classes, and finally from class G to class M are orphan classes. Each class having 20 students. That's about 260 students every year which is not a lot considering that at least 118 of them are going to die. And that only about 30 of them are guaranteed to graduate.

I am in class H , Zabuza and Mihagi are in class K ' RIP Mihagi' and Sentomaru in class L.

We (class H) are taken to our designated classroom and the chunin guiding us announces " obviously I will be your homeroom teacher, we will start by unlocking your chakra, something that always requires direct supervision from an experienced shinobi, otherwise it could lead to severe consequences. So don't get any bright ideas, at home or in class you are only allowed to practice what we have already went over".

He goes to us one by on putting his hand on are backs, I start to feel changes as if I am free from previously unbreakable shackles.

'Life form so puppets aren't included ' I think to myself dejected, but I shelve all of that for later. Choosing to pay attention in class , rather than getting caught spacing out. They might retire me early, after all they're known to have their students fight to the death, that shows our value to them.

We go back to the dorms I pick up some leaves on the way inside, for we have leant in class how to train chakra control.

I sit on my bed and stick the leaf to my face and in conjunction with meditation to keep using the skill indefinitely.

Hours later Zabuza enters the room sees me and goes to sleep after doing 100 push ups , 100 sit ups.

And then Mihagi and Sentomaru enter seeing Zabuza sleeping, then they look at me. Sentomaru says " are you seriously doing that stupid exercise" Mihagi interjects " it's not our business, we can just wait till they teach us cool jutsu".

'Wow we have some cannon fodder over here, though its obvious since one of them is in Zabuza's class'. I chose to tune out the extras and focus on the exercise. When it was 05:00am I went to sleep after checking my progress.

The next day we reviewed the exercise before were told to practice it at home as we well be moving to other stuff. Then we were sent to run laps around the training field until we drop, they seem to be recording how long it took and how many laps we did, for us to tire out. I did the best out of all of them, seems that all that training did some good, but when you put Into perspective that my class is composed of only orphans And which class we belong to it shows why they don't look twice at the number of dead students they have every graduation.

After lunch came the academics. Our homeroom teacher taught us of the creation of kiri. And how unlike the hokage that needed help to unite the clans, our powerful shodaime mizukage used his own power to unite all the shinobi of the land of water into one village. After being done with history it was followed by mathematics and other classes that were too boring though I did my best to not dose off and focus on learning, I'd rather know this boring shit and not have to use it than need it and not know it.

Days became weeks which turned to months and end of term exams came though we were only thought exercises and academics that was what we were tested on. It looks like combat training is for 2nd years and above. When it came to academics I had to settle for second best, however for the physical tests I again scored best.
