The next day order was given that there is no need for people to gather in the dinning room as diamyo would eat in his room. Sasuke was ordered to bring the diamyo's food with some servants to his room. Sasuke prepared the food and brought it in the diamyo's room. The room has a separate bedroom and separate space to have guests. The dinner was set in that separate room. The diamyo came and sat on a chair.

Diamyo: Everyone except Hidehiko leave. Hidehiko join me in breakfast and take a seat.

Hidehiko was Sasuke's disguise.

[Sasuke-inner-thought: WHAT?! FUCK, IF HE WANTS TO HAVE A CHAT WITH ME AFTER WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY NIGHT THEN IT IS DEFINITELY NOT A GOOD NEWS.]

[Katsuki Telepathy: What do you think he is gonna talk about?]

Sasuke: Hai! Everyone set food for me and leave us.

Food was set for Sasuke as well and he took a seat right beside diamyo and the other servants left.

Sasuke got up and was moving towards the door.

Sasuke stopped.

[Katsuki Telepathy: Sasuke, do you want me to poison him so that he would go into coma. I can do that, you can then tell that while eating he clutched his heart and fell.]

Diamyo: Right now you are considering whether to kill me or not. I would suggest you listen to everything I say before making any move.

Sasuke was about to order Katsuki to poison him when he stopped. He turned around and faced the diamyo. He then went back and sat in the seat that he got off from. He turned towards the diamyo.

Sasuke: If the question you asked was the last test then tell me what other mistakes I made?

The diamyo noded.

Diamyo: So you are the type that learns from his mistakes. Good. Then you are either gonna become a really excellent shinobi or you already are one and just want to learn what were your mistakes so that you won't do them again. Good Indeed.

Sasuke: Can you please tell me before I listen to what you have say?

Diamyo: Sure, How do you think that Hidehiko got this position. Certainly, he is good chef but he also got the position due to his connections. Sometimes, we would even play chess. He would come at least once a week, sometimes twice. As he stopped coming, I realised something is wrong. I had some servants check and you as Hidehiko were doing your job fine. But you made another mistake, you made a dish that Hidehiko clearly once told me that he cannot make that and you did it perfectly as well. Another point is Hidehiko is lusty, I know that as well, but suddenly he decided to refuse companionship of women? and people say his d**k does not stand anymore? I would believe more that he has been replaced with someone else. Lastly, even though you took his place, you did not play the part of his debauchery that tells me you are a shinobi but a shinobi that has some morals and principles. Most men won't refuse the long line of women that throw themselves at them after all.

It is important for me as a diamyo to know their true nature and what they truly desire, because if they want more power then their next target is me, if they want more money then their target is my wealth or the wealth of the territory, if they want a beautiful woman and lets say that woman is Hayami, then their target is either her or me and a scheme so that they can either kill me and marry her or force me to marry her to them.

[Sasuke-inner-thought: No, if someone as crafty as him revealed himself that he knows I am a shinobi in disguise, and given what happened last night, I want to hear everything first before making a decision. Some are good killers and a little smart, so they think about the mission given and think hard about how to achieve it, sometimes they would even question the intensions behind the mission or the results of the mission. Lastly, some are great killers and really smart, they question everything, from their employer to why were they given the mission, how to effectively complete it, what is the point of the mission etc. You (Diamyo points to Sasuke), looks to me that you fall into the 2nd or the 3rd category. You are right as well, I do have a plan and a suggestion for you, more like a job.

Sasuke: Is it for me to assassinate Hikari? You already deduced that she is my target so you would not have revealed everything if you wanted her to get assassinated. That means, you have another mission for me.

Diamyo: Correct, If I had stayed silent and let you do your mission then you would have definitely at least tried to assassinate her. Either yourself or given that you have replaced the chef, you would have poisoned her food. But there are reasons I decided to confront you, first, I do not know how skilled you really are. From our chat till now, I at least know that you are confident in your infiltration skills and you are smart but I really don't know how much strong or skilled you are. Second, there is a low chance of you succeeding. Hikari has that shinobi named Ryuga on her side, they say he is as strong as 50-100 shinobis. In one mission, he was ordered to stop close to a 100 shinobis so that Hikari's other forces can retreat and he did that flawlessly and without getting major injuries. They say he also checks for poison for Hikari in her food.

Sasuke: He did not do that yesterday.

Diamyo: He did, I have heard he can become suspicious with just the smell of the food and then he would check to confirm his suspicions. If you have poisoned the food then he would have definitely checked to confirm.

Sasuke: What if it is a poison that has no taste, no smell, no color and slow acting. What if I really did added poison to everybody's food and I am just waiting for the poison to affect everybody not just Hikari.

Diamyo: Your target is Hikari and a man like yourself who has morals and principles to not take advantage of weak women, would not poison innocents. You would only try to poison your target. If you really have a poison that has no taste, no smell, no color and slow acting, and you really already did poison her, then you could have left last night. But you didn't, which means either you had not poisoned her, have poisoned her and are waiting to see the results yourself, at the danger of getting caught or lastly, the poison is so special that you need to keep giving this low acting poison for a while to be sure that it will start acting.

[Sasuke-inner-thought: DAMN! the intelligence of this old man is scary.]

Diamyo: Based on the first 2 reasons to confront you, I know your chances of succeeding are low and close to impossible. My 3rd reason is, I need a shinobi to do a mission and I do not trust any other shinobi around me. Given that you are a man of morals and principles then If I were to give you a mission and you accept it then I know you would at least try, even if the mission is dangerous. The condition being that you accept the mission yourself first.

Sasuke: You don't trust the any shinobi around you? are they not skilled or do you think they are on Hikari's side.

Diamyo coughed while answering.

Sasuke: Looks like the news about your illness wasn't a scheme by you.

Diamyo: Hayami's maid is poisoning me slowly....Cough....Cough

Sasuke: You know that? why didn't you take action?

Diamyo: I am old and it wouldn't be weird If I died any moment. Due to current circumstances I wanted to find out who's side that maid is. I thought she was on Hikari's side but...huff huff....Cough....Cough..based on the information I have she is a third party who has infiltrated this castle. I do not know which side. Hikari has one spy in the castle, who is probably a shinobi. But he is just keeping tabs.

Sasuke: You mean, you let the maid poison you so that you can confirm which side that maid is on? DAMN! I don't know whether to call you reckless or an idiot.

Diamyo: I knew they won't use a poison that would kill me instantly. It would be suspicious and if Hikari wants this territory, then she would want the process as smooth as possible. The situation in the centre is really complicated and wars are really intense. If she killed me and failed to get the rulership of the territory due to ministers or Hayami then she might face a lot of difficulties both in the centre and here. Her enemies have spies as well so they will definitely use the opportunity if she is stuck trying to gain control of this territory.

Diamyo: I was confident that the slow acting poison can be cured. But this poison is something my physician is having a tough time curing. He has slowed it down but he says I might at most have several months if we don't find a cure.

Sasuke: So, just to get information you gambled with your life and now the poison that they used have thwarted your plans and you decided to approach me, a fourth party that has infiltrated, to do a mission given that Hikari is also my target.

[Sasuke-inner-thought: WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS OLD MAN ACTUALLY SAYING? HE IS TRUSTING A PARTY HE JUST MET TO TAKE HIS BELOVED GRAND DAUGHTER AWAY AND GUARD HER FOR 1-2 YEARS AND HELP HER SETTLE DOWN? I THOUGHT HE WOULD GIVE ME A DIFFICULT MISSION LIKE ATTACKING HIKARI'S SOME IMPORTANT HEADQUARTER OR ONE OF THE CLANS UNDER HIKARI. BUT HE WANTS ME TO BABYSIT?]

Diamyo took some medicine out of his clothing and ate it with water.

Diamyo: Huff..Huff...If I don't take the medicine then coughing starts. Now it is better, you heard me right.

Sasuke: I thought it will be a difficult mission like attack a clan under Hikari or something. But you want me to take your grand daughter away from here? then the announcement you did yesterday was a scheme so that you could do this?

Diamyo: My announcement made people believe that Hayami will be here in 7 days. But I plan to get her out of this territory.

Sasuke: Of course, I have to. You are scheming on so many levels that It is becoming difficult for me to see the big picture. For example, you tried to see whether I have a solution to your poisoning. If I had then I would probably start some kind of negotiation but because now I know this is not a talk but a battle of truth and lies then I don't know what to believe about everything you said. I am contemplating how much of what you said is the truth and whether I should just kill you now?

Diamyo: hahahaha, another point for being smart. I thought you wouldn't be so difficult but you are showing me otherwise. Also, at this point you won't kill me, that would only benefit Hikari.

Sasuke: What if that would throw her plans of track? I mean, you just said, It could make things difficult for her. 

Diamyo: If I am killed by you, then you have to leave this castle right away. Hikari would suspect that there are shinobi targeting her as well and she might initiate a thorough investigation. It wouldn't be long for other people to notice how your behaviour was different to the real chef. You will be under suspicion straight away. So, you can't stay and your only choice would be to abort your mission of targeting Hikari. Hikari would use my death as an opportunity and would take control right away. It would only benefit her.

[Sasuke-inner-thought: FUCK! I REALLY DON'T LIKE THIS TALK. THIS OLD MAN IS NOT EVEN AFRAID OF DYING. HECK, HE IS USING HIS LIFE TO GAMBLE RIGHT NOW. NOW THEN, I WAS TRYING TO MAKE HIM AFRAID THAT I COULD KILL HIM BUT HE IS DEFINITELY NOT AFRAID.]

Sasuke: You know, based on how much you are scheming, I am thinking it would be better to kill you and abort this mission right now. I would target Hikari another time. I could infiltrate her castle or target her at a much better time.

Sasuke: Old man, let's make something clear. You need me, I don't need you. I could just scram and target Hikari another time. I don't care about you or what happens to this territory. So, you can scheme all you want, but If I sense you are scheming something based on the rest of the talk then I will retreat straight away. I don't like being a pawn in someone else's game.

[Diamyo-inner-thought: Now I really need to think what to say so that this shinobi won't just quit and leave.]

Diamyo: Sigh, Everything I said till now was the truth. The only scheme I pulled was to see whether you have a solution to my poisoning or not. I really want you to take Hayami and help her settle down somewhere safe. The proof is my scheme from yesterday, where I declared to make Hayami diamyo in coming days but it is the perfect opportunity to let her escape. Diamyo: I can't share my plan with you unless you promise to do this mission. I can promise you that my plan is perfect and it will shake the foundations of Hikari's power.

Sasuke: Like hell, I can believe your word. You are the most scheming man I ever met.

Diamyo: I swear upon my name and my family name. Also, I swear as a diamyo that you can trust me. I have nothing but good intentions right now.

Sasuke: No, not believing you.

Diamyo: What? I am diamyo and I just made a promise on my name, my family name as well. You still can't trust that? You are just a fucking shinobi.

Sasuke got up.

As Sasuke's eyes became serious, diamyo knew this is it.
