First Mission: Protection Duty - 1

[1 Year Later]

A child could be heard loudly laughing maniacally while looking towards the sky. Hearing his voice his attendant comes running.

Yoshinori: Kouske-sama how many times have I told you to control yourself. Your reputation is already taking a hit in the clan. You are being called the "Maniac Prodigy". As I am your attendant, my reputation is also not good and when people look at me they whisper. People has started to believe that even I am unstable. Kouske: Why do you think they called me?

Yoshinori: young master, please do not joke. I think you already know. Specially, because you are six years old and just 2 weeks before you passed with flying colors in all the exams conducted for your batch. More over, you defeated the other top candidates in one-on-one shinobi combat. Word is going around that the people who witnessed your battles said your battles were the most amazing they have seen in decades. 

2 weeks ago, there was an exams for the batch Kouske was part of. Tournament style one-on-one battle with another candidate. Kouske came out first and showed his mastery of ninjutsu, taijutsu, swordsman-ship. Even shuriken and kunai throwing technique as well. This test was to see who is ready for the battlefield. It was same as the taijutsu battle he had before but this time weapons like swords, shurikens, kunai and even ninjutus were allowed. In this battle, Airi and Naohiro teamed up in the final round of his group. But he still came out on top.

Kouske: hah, as if beating other children is that amazing. Airi and Naohiro although are good, they could not even do substitution without hand signs. All it took from me was to engage them in taijutsu using hand-hand combat and my swordsman-ship. The only jutsus I used were Fireball Jutsu, Substitution jutsu and normal clone jutsu.

Yoshinori: That is why people are saying that you are truly a prodigy. Using seal-less substitution jutsu to confuse them. Your swordsman-ship and your taijutsu was amazing as well. Lastly, they say your Fireball Jutsu is already at the level of fully mastered. I was not there but I heard the fireball was big enough to have diameter of 5 meters. Its destructive power was also amazing.

Kouske: Well, that is enough praising me. Now back to the topic, What do you think, I just want your opinion.

Yoshinori: I think you are being sent on some mission.

Kouske: You think so as well huh. I knew this was coming as I passed with flying colors but isn't this too early. I thought I would still have a month.

Yoshinori: who knows, I am just an attendant young master. Now, you should change clothes and get ready. If this meeting is important then you can not go with the way you look.

Yoshinori pointed towards Kouske who was dripping with sweat and even his clothes were wet with it. He was happy that even though his young master was hailed as a prodigy, he works hard. But he wishes his young master changes some of the habits he has developed in the last year.

During this war torn era, there is no one diamyo of the Land of Fire. The wars are happening because all the different diamyo would be, want to become the sole ruler. To do this, they hire shinobi clans to fight on their behalf. To secure strategic locations, sabotage the other diamyos sources of income etc. My clan is above average but for some missions, we have created a name for ourselves. For example, being good body guards. As we are good sensors, we are somewhat good enough to protect transports, VIPs etc. Although, of course sometimes we do go to war with other clans and sometimes we are hired by a diamyo who is already having a war and realises that the clan he hired does not have proficient sensor ninjas. So now I am in a big hall. All the big shots of the clans are sitting here. There is big rectangular table and at the position in which normally a chairman would sit is the current clan head. He is in his mid-thirties. In this war torn period, average life time of shinobi is quite low so him being in his thirties mean that he is already in the numbers who are above average. Now normally, both sides of the table would have elders and then elites of the clan. But today no elders are sitting on one side and there are people I have not seen before sitting there. But based on their attire, I can say they are rich probably rich merchants or some diamyo. Meaning they are our clients and because I was called that means this is my first mission.
