56 Chapter 56: I'm the saviour of the world

A gravitational force erupted from Pain, as everything was pushed from him.

All the rain and rainclouds disappeared, making the sky clear again.

Even Akai was pushed away multiple kilometers.

Konan was totally unharmed, and while Pain took care of the rain, she shot multiple exploding papers towards Akai.

Just as Akai stood up, he found himself penetrated by hundreds of exploding papers.

"Oh no." Akai said with a pale face, as his body exploded into a gore of blood that flew everywhere, and no limb was left of him.

Both Konan and Pain arrived where Akai had exploded. Seeing the blood that had exploded everywhere, Konan released a sigh.

"Who is this old man... he would have been burdensome to fight alone." Konan said.

"Indeed, let's hurry now." Pain said as they turned around. But just as they were about to leave, they heard rustling behind them so both hurriedly looked back and saw something very creepy.

The blood of Akai floated back together rebuilding his body out of blood, he was totally unharmed, in fact, he was grinning madly.

"Got you!" Akai said as the blood everywhere turned into blood spikes that shot towards the two.

Blood had exploded everywhere from Akai, meaning that Konan and Pain were standing on his blood. It was too close and too fast for them to react as both their feet and arms were penetrated.

Their blood splashed onto Akai's face, and somehow, his aura started getting darker.

This was the second ability of his eternal Mugengan, The Blood berserker of his right eye. whenever the blood of his foes touched his skin, he would become berserk, stronger, faster and fiercer, yet he would also become Beast like. The more blood, the fiercer he became.

Suddenly Akai punched forward, and his fist turned into a huge fist made of blood.

Konan succeeded in creating a shield of paper around both Pain and herself. They got blasted far away.

"Who is this!" Konan felt worried for the first time as both her and Pain were heavily harmed by the last attack.

"Narak path!" suddenly another person appeared, having the same person as pain. He healed both pain and Konan using his dojutsu.

Akai found himself surrounded by 5 people with the same eyes, All of them attacking him.

"Konan, stay back I'll handle this." Pain said.

Konan simply nodded, with full confidence in pain.

"You... had... back up." Akai spoke as he fought madly using taijutsu.

He soon found that no matter which angle he attacked from, he couldn't hit them as if they were seeing the attack before he attacked.

Suddenly, many spikes of blood shot out of Akai's body, ready to penetrate the 5 attackers.

"Devas path!" One of them said, creating a gravitational field around Akai, which led to his spikes flying back into his body because of the heavy gravity around him.

"Preta path" another one said as he touched the back of Akai. Suddenly Akai felt that a huge amount of chakra was being absorbed by the one touching his back.

Yet, with his Mugengan, this was no problem.

'Huh, I can't turn into blood?' Akai realised that as long as the 'preta path' was activated he couldn't turn into blood. As he was confused, another one attacked him in the back of his head, making Akai fall down, unconscious.

"What a scary old man, should we kill him?" Konan asked as she arrived near the 5 bodies of pain, all of them were controlled by the same mind.

Pain looked at the old man for a second.

"He belongs to the Zaraki clan... if he has such powers, and he's out here creating such a ruckus..." Pain said, not finishing his sentence.

"Then he probably doesn't belong to the clan any more..." Konan finished, realising why pain hadn't killed the old man yet.

"He's strong enough." Pain said.

"I trust your judgement." Konan neither agreed nor disagreed with what Pain was about to do.

Soon, Akai woke up groggily, as he remembered what had happened, he flew up to his feet.

"haaa, I'm really becoming old." He said mockingly as he saw pain, 4 others with the same eyes, and Konan.

"So you didn't kill me huh, what do you brats want?" Akai said, sounding quite displeased at them.

" We want to" Pain started speaking.

" I have no money!" Akai interrupted pain.

"We don't want your mon"

" I don't want your money either, what do you want." Akai said again, this time with a finger in his nose, as if he couldn't be bothered by these children

"Join us." Konan said before Pain lost his temper.

"Join you?" Akai asked, surprised that they would ask him that.

"We are Akatsuki, our goal is to save the world from its suffering. We plan to..." Konan started introducing their organisation, but Akai had already drifted into his own thoughts.

"So they plan to save the world huh... if I join these brats for a while and accumulate some good deeds, my grandson might overlook the ruckus I cause and let me come back without any punishment... hmm, saving the world, that sounds good. I'm sure I'll return to Konoha as a world renowned hero later. ' Akai thought to himself.

As he finally came out of his thoughts, he only heard the final part of Konan's introduction and plan to save the world.

"And that's how we will save the world from its own suffering, will you join us?" She asked, although not very hopeful since not many people could understand the path they had chosen.

Sadly, she was unaware that Akai hadn't really listened to their master plan of world dominance, and only heard the part about saving the world.

"Sure sure, I'll join, will I also get one of those robes?" Akai said in a lazy tone.

'These brats, fine I'll join your little group and try to save the world, what can go wrong...' Akai thought, sadly, he had totally missed the part about attacking all the villages, stealing the Jinchuriki, creating the ten tails and dominating the world.

Konan had summarised it, yet Akai had not heard it all.

One week later, in a cave stood Pain, Konan, Akai and another Akatsuki member.

"This will be your partner." Pain introduced.

"hmm is that so..." Akai said as he looked at his new teammate.

'Why is he so familiar?" Akai wondered as he looked at the man that hid his face with a face mask.

Akai was unaware that his teammate was thinking the exact same thing as he looked at the short, old man with black robes and red clouds on them. the old man Also had a straw hat shielding his face.

'Akai... Akai... No... NO... it can't be him...' Suddenly the masked man remembered a figure from a long time ago, someone he feared dearly.

"Kakazu-chan, I'll leave the hard work for you." Akai said with one finger in his nose, sounding totally bored, as if he was only here to gain fame but not work hard.

Both Pain and Konan got ready to de-escalate things as they knew that the members of Akatsuki had problems with their attitudes, yet Kakazu didn't retaliate, instead he simply nodded.

'Why... is he behaving so well?' Konan wondered, seeing how Kakazu didn't fight Akai.

Kakazu had lived a long life, he had even once fought the first Hokage and barely escaped.

All of them were unaware that Kakazu had actually seen a younger Akai in action and recognized him.

Because of fright, he decided to be well behaved.

'Ahh my grandson will be so proud when I return to Konoha as a world saving hero!' Akai thought in pride.

Sorry for the break, I couldn't bring myself to write since I was exhausted for the past month. I started a new job and worked extra hours, 72 hours/week so I was too exhausted to write anything. Now I'm back to more "normal" hours.

But I'm still taking a break since I can't seem to write anything on this fanfic for now. writers block they call it.

But don't worry I have started a few side projects for now to kickstart my creativity again and it seems to be working! I've written many chapters, Here's a teaser! maybe I'll release them, maybe not 🙈
