3 Hizashi's death

That night was a restless night for the Hyuga.

After consoling his family, Hiashi went to the meeting hall. All the main and branch family members were already present. In fact even Third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi was present.

"Greetings! Hokage-sama" Hiashi respectfully greeted a old man in his sixties.

Don't let the age fool you. He was the strongest shinobi of Hidden Leaf village. He was known as 'The Professor'. Because he knew jutsu of all the five elements and could use effectively. In fact he could combine two elements without having any bloodline talent. He did it using two jutsu of different elements simultaneously using elemental clones.

He is also the teacher of the famed sanins.

"Hiashi" Hiruzen nodded to him.

"May I ask, what warranted your presence Hokage-sama at this hour?" Hiashi asked cautiously. The intruder event had nothing to do with the hokage. As the shinobi targeted a clan, the said clan could deliver punishment according to the agreement between clans and the village.

"It is the identity of the kidnapper that made me come." Hiruzen said while smoking his pipe.

"The kidnapper's identity? I don't understand?" Hiashi was confused about this information. What is the identity of the kidnapper that made hokage personally interfere in the matter of clans.

"Sigh! Hiashi you don't know that the kidnapper is one of the Kumo peace treaty members. His involvement in this matter has escalated the event to a level where I have to intervene. With you killing the kidnapper swiftly in rage, has made the matter worse." Hiruzen explained the importance of identity of the kidnapper.

If it was a rogue shinobi, they didn't have to worry about it. In fact they could have gotten some bounty money. But now the sensitive identity of the kidnapper made the matter worse.

Hiruzen could deduce from this event that those from Kumo cam e mainly for Hyuga clans byakugan. They had no interest in peace treaty. If it was before the Kyubi attack, Kumo wouldn't dare to plan such event. But now that Konoha had lost almost seventy percent of his fighting power including a powerful kage, they were weaker compared to the other four great shinobi villages.

If not for him handling the matters and barely salvaging the situation, Konoha would have been a target for vultures. He could guess Kumo using this incident to start a war if they didn't get a satisfying compensation.

That compensation might be Hyuga clan's prized dojutsu, the byakugan.

"What?" Hiashi was surprised by this turn of event. Now he knew they were in a pinch.

"What shall we do now, Hokage-sama?" Hiashi asked carefully. The matter had already become something he couldn't handle alone.

"For now, do nothing. I will contact with Kumo and talk with Raikage. After that we will inform you." Hiruzen stood up and vanished from the meeting hall.

All the members present were thinking what should the do now.

"Everyone go back to your house. Hizashi stay here." Hiashi ordered. Hizashi, his twin brother and a branch family member, stayed.

"You can guess what they were planning, don't you Hizashi?" Hiashi asked while looking towards the night sky. "What a terrible situation!"

"Brother, Kumo will demand compensation. If they wanted our byakugan from the start, then you know what their compensation will be." Hizashi said with a grave expression.

Almost every enemy ninja coveted their byakugan. With Kumo having the least bloodline families, they always had their eyes on Konoha. Choosing Hinata was for the sole propose of breeding. She would be raped and get pregnant from the moment she would be able to bear child. Her life would be so tragic and fearful that it ran shiver down his spine. Nobody wanted such a fate for their daughter. So he could understand what his brother was thinking.

The two brothers stood there in silence.

After what seemed an hour or two had passed, a servant brought them a message.

"Hokage-sama has called for your presence, Hiashi-sama."

"Okay" Hiashi didn't wait for a moment and head straight towards the Hokage Tower.

Amatsu couldn't sleep that night. All night he was thinking about what happened. Even he with a mentality of an old man froze when faced with such a situation.

He tossed and turned on his mat.

Beside him Hinata and Hanabi were sleeping along with obasan. He could feel none of them asleep. The kidnapping had casted a gloom on the once happy family.

After much difficulty he managed to sleep before dawn. But when he awoke, he saw Hinata crying.

"What happened? Why are you crying?" Amatsu hugged Hinata's small body.

"Hizashi ojisan died last night." Hinata answered him between sobs.

"What??" Amatsu couldn't believe what he heard.

"Hizashi-ojisan is dead!!! How did this happen? Was there another intruder yesterday?"

"I don't know. Nobody is talking about this. Father has locked himself in his study room. Mama is with obasan. Neji-san is not talking to me."

Amatsu listlessly listened to Hinata's words. He couldn't believe Hizashi-ojisan was dead. He monotonously continued patting Hinata with myriad of expression.

Both of them didn't know when they slept. The amount of grieve, sadness, exhaustion, sleeplessness was putting a tole on their psych.

They hugged each other tightly as if the other would vanish if let go.

Hinata's mother came and put a blanket on them. She didn't woke them.

The Hyuga clan was filled with a depressing atmosphere.

Hizashi Hyuga's funeral was held in somber mood. His family was crying for his absence in their life from now on.

Neji Hyuga, the only son of Hizashi, eyed hatefully at the main clan members.

'First cage bird seal, now my father! Hiashi Hyuga! I know you are responsible for my father's death. I will not forgive you for this. Just you wait. I will have my revenge on all of you main family members. Even you Amatsu and Hinata will not escape my wrath.'

The dark thoughts of rage and hatred remained unseen by even the family who prided themselves for having 'All Seeing Eyes'.

What would this hatred bring?

Only the future could tell.
