6 Chapter 6

Cisco's eyes sprung open as he immediately reached out to take his kunai out. However, he soon realized that was impossible. His entire body was covered in ropes that connected with the chair he was sitting on.

Furthermore, there were multiple cuts on his thighs and wrists, and he felt like he could barely push any strength into his limbs. There was no way of escape.

Scared for his life, Cisco started to shout for help. He had probably been here for long enough, others would have noticed that something was wrong. However, he didn't hear anything other than his voice echoing back.

It was eerie.

"There is no point in shouting, so calm down. My ears hurt."

Cisco heard a voice from behind as he tried to turn around, only to realize that it was impossible to do so. There was something extremely scary about understanding that an enemy was standing right behind him.

"Do you even understand what have you done? Others will soon find out what happened here." Cisco answered, trying to keep his fear hidden. "Release me and perhaps Ogami will let you have a quiet death."

In response, Cisco only heard a snort.

"I don't think that anyone is coming here anytime soon."

Only then did Cisco glance down at his waist, noting the absence of his keys. His eyes widened in horror. "You didn't..."

"Cisco, I think you had enough time to come back to your senses." Blake appeared right in front of him, pointing a bloody axe his way. "I am going to ask you a few questions. You better answer if you want to live."

"Go to hell." Cisco cursed back. He wasn't the most strong-willed, but he for sure wouldn't be known as a traitor. However, his determined expression changed once he felt a sharp pain coming from his thigh.

Glancing down, he was greeted with the gruesome sight of an axe stuck in his leg. Blake was standing in the same spot, but Cisco felt like the man was laughing beneath his mask.

"So, shall we start with some basic questions?" Blake grabbed the axe and took it out from Cisco's flesh, forcing a grunt from the man. "What is the Ruthless Heaven?"

-

The information he had gathered from Cisco made him a bit dizzy, but it also confirmed his speculations. He was not actually from this world. That was a bit difficult to accept, but he had figured as much when seeing so many unexplainable things happening.

How did he appear here? No, rather, why did he appear here?

These questions were unanswered since Cisco found him unconscious in the forest. He didn't have that much time, so he decided to ponder upon the mystery of his appearance later.

The next essential information that he gathered was that Cisco had no idea about classes, skills, or this screen itself. In fact, he couldn't even see it.

The people from this world didn't use Chaos Energy but instead had something called chakra. It was what let them create those spells and gain supernatural strength. However, it was fundamentally different from Chaos Energy.

While people with chakra could naturally control the flow of it to their convenience and strengthen their body parts, Chaos Energy was violent and turned obedient only once Blake activated his skills. This meant that Blake couldn't progress as they did, and only reaching a higher level would grant him greater power.

He didn't know yet whether that was positive or not, but seeing how he easily defeated Cisco just after appearing in this world probably meant the latter. Cisco even mentioned that his power was extremely peculiar, something that Orochimaru would want to experiment on.

Blake reorganized his thoughts, a few sighs escaping from his mouth. He wasn't fond of torture, but sometimes it was essential. Glancing down, he saw Cisco's bloody, messed-up figure lying on the ground.

"Sorry," Blake merged with the shadows on the ground. "Or not."

Then, he began to follow the trail of shadows next to the wall. He passed through hundreds of cells, all empty, showing signs of battle. Perhaps some of the inmates held a grudge against each other, not able to contain themselves from attacking each other.

Soon, Blake began to ascend the stairs. Traveling within the shadows felt a bit strange as if he was swimming, but it proved to be much faster than simply running. Though, Chaos Energy was constantly depleting from his now much larger storage.

The sight above was nothing to scoff at, as the earlier tidy interior was now flooded with both blood and bodies. He saw many prisoners lying on the ground, but there were as men of the other party. Blake even noticed the healer that helped him earlier lying with an open scalp.

How fragile was life that it could end so fast, and how everlasting was death that it could bring fear into the eyes of the strongest?

No, that was wrong.

Blake stopped, putting his hands against his head.

'Why do I keep having these strange thoughts?' Blake frowned, trying to discard these useless notions about life and death. Was this some kind of side effect from the Ruthless Heaven? Anyway, he had to investigate it later, but getting out was the most important task at hand.

Calming down, Blake continued to follow the trail of shadows, moving away from the arena and instead going to the unexplored area, where the experiments were getting conducted.

He saw as many, if not more, bodies along the path, and soon enough, he heard the noise of a battle. A few moments later, Blake's eyes widened in surprise as he looked at the source of the turmoil.

Over fifty dead men were spread throughout the vicinity, gruesome injuries covering their bodies. In the middle of this bloodbath, stood a figure. No, it was rather a monster, who seemed to be especially angry right now.

He was huge, standing over 2 meters tall, and had huge muscles. His skin was grey, and he had nasty long hair reaching his thighs. The monster was breathing hard, killing everyone that came in sight, both the inmates and not.

Blake watched in silence, continuing to drift from the battle, trying to pass through unhindered. However, the monster didn't seem to be kind enough to let him go just like that.

They made eye contact.

"Fuck." Blake cursed the world.
