Endings and Beginnings

"Oops...I forgot to mention one thing…" said a black-haired man with a hole in his chest, covered in blood and his face in the dirt. All around them a mysterious pressure increased and was slowly getting stronger by the second, as if in time with his heartbeat.

"When I die...the effect of gift ball deluxe intensifies! The lock...I unconsciously put on it out of fear.., in order to protect myself…, is removed." the dying man chuckled painfully while slowly bringing his hands up.

"I would pay my respects to you...but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm guessing you guys don't have the energy left to run...sorry." He said, bringing his hands together as if to perform a small prayer.

"Then again...I'm sure...you've got an answer for this too." His unfocused eyes momentarily cleared to see who he was speaking with.

Messy and light-blond (almost pale) hair with strands framing the sides of the face and hanging between his eyes. His chin has a little stubble on it. He wears a dark green Shihakusho without an undershirt. Over this, he wears a black haori which sports a white diamond pattern along its bottom half. He was missing his signature sandals and bucket hat and covered in a multitude of stitches, but there was no mistaking who this man was.

He was Kisuke Urahara. A Soul Reaper.

"Man...I know you do...so I won't say...it's fatal." Those were the last words of the black-haired man before the light faded completely from his eyes. With that, the energy that was building until now almost tripled instantly and continued to rise.

"It's unfortunate…., but I'll have to disappoint you this time..." Kisuke said with a small chuckle. He of course had a plan, but things were a little more dire than he predicted.

*GRK GRK GRAK GRK*

He tried to get up to walk but fell to his knees as behind him his trusted partner, Benihime, collapsed signaling the loss of almost all his energy.

But even so, he crawled, ignoring the city collapsing around him and the frustrated grunts of the blue-haired hollow close by. He had one final objective. The prone figure not too far away from him.

"You've certainly... looked better…, Miss Yoruichi." He said sarcastically to the well-endowed dark-skinned woman.

Yoruichi just barely managed to open her eyes and gazed at Kisuke with her golden but hazy irises. Even in this state, she still somehow could convey her annoyance at her long-time friend.

"What's...the matter...cat got your tongue…" Kisuke said with another chuckle, seeing that Yoruichi no longer even had the strength to speak.

Although she wanted nothing more than to smack him over the head one...or two good times, she had other things on her mind right now. Having known each other for so long, Kisuke naturally could pick up on this.

"Yushiro...is fine…" Kisuke said with a strained smile.

Although she felt reassured, she knew deep down that, even now, she was never exactly sure when he was lying. She didn't know if he only said as much to give her peace in their final moments, or if perhaps her brother really was fine. But for her own sake, she chose to believe in his words this time.

*THUD*

Suddenly Kisuke fell over beside her and his breathing grew even more labored than it already was.

"I think I'm about done…" He struggled out while giving a wry smile at Yoruichi. She only sighed and accepted her fate. She didn't fear death, though she would be lying if she said she had no regrets. Her consciousness started to fade to black, but she could still barely hear whispers before she closed her eyes for what she thought would be the last time.

"You're listening...right? If so...can you grant your creator...one last wish...Hogyoku…"

Everything went dark before she could hear anymore.

[Unknown location]

"NYAAAHhhhhh!" A woman's catlike scream was heard echoing in an underground chamber as multiple people maneuvered around performing various tasks.

There were several strange ink markings decorating the room with several people sitting down encircled by them appearing to be at maximum concentration.

The woman paused, screaming for only a moment to grit her teeth. She glared hatefully at the large man standing next to her, for reasons known only to them both, before going back to screaming.

The man of course noticed her hatred but remained as stone-faced as usual, though internally he apologized to the young woman for what he had done and will have to do. He felt shame. But the village must come first. He just found it ironic he had to make up for one mistake by committing another one. He should have at least told the woman why she was required to have twins.

His stubborn nature had got him and the poor young woman into this situation, but he refused to relent now. It would be an insult to the woman at this point.

The man. The Third Raikage, Ay, thought back to how he got in this situation. He couldn't have known the simple decision to have his son find his tag-team partner early would almost destroy the balance in the village.

The hidden cloud village has three of what you would call, noble clans that help keep the village from falling to ruin.

His own clan, the San clan. The Nii clan. And finally, the Ichi clan.

Each clan was entrusted with a certain task in the village. The San clan would have one trained to become the Kage of the village. The Nii clan would act as judges and strictly adhere to the rules. While the Ichi family was to create those rules for the betterment of the village that the Raikage would have to agree to.

However, because the Raikage could essentially override all of their decisions at any time, the other two clans were to be given a deterrent against doing so unjustly. They were each given one of the two-tailed beasts in the village to look after. Yes, they were in charge of the Jinchuriki.

The Niibi would go to the Nii clan and the Hachibi would go to the Ichi clan. The Raikage was obviously strong enough to fight against at least one of the beasts on his own, and it was assumed the other would assist if the first was used against the village unjustly.

Although there were flaws, it was a good enough system to work for a while. That is, until the untimely death of the last Hachibi Jinchuriki, Blue B.

With his sudden death, there were no children available in the Ichi clan that could take his place. Instead, it was sealed inside of the only child the village thought could hold off the beast. The child was named Killer B.

Normally it would have been fine to just have the child be adopted into the Ichi clan but this child, Killer B, was the newly adopted son of the Third Raikage, Ay, and the sworn brother and tag-team partner of his son A. Ay and the San clan refused to hand the child over because of the tradition. It didn't help that in his short time with the beast; the child showed an absurd level of compatibility with the beast's chakra. In time he would become a perfect Jinchuriki.

But this left a gap in power in the village. The Ichi clan was now without its deterrent, and the San clan had too much power. Both the Ichi and Nii clans sought a resolution. The current Jinchuriki for the Niibi would also have to change hosts, as it was tradition that when one died the other would switch. This was so no one host had more experience than the other. A tradition most Raikage thought foolish but had to allow nonetheless.

Ay remained stubborn, even though it looked like the village was on the brink of a revolt. It was when he contemplated just going out and destroying the clans himself that someone offered him a solution that reminded him of making a deal with the devil.

"Raikage-sama, there might be a method to solve all our problems while also increasing the strength of the village. After we attacked Ushiogakure, the home of the former Uzumaki clan, we were able to recover several fuinjutsu seals from them. Though most are far too advanced for us to replicate, many of them can we can use once at least." The Nii clan head had Ay's attention. He respected the Uzumaki clan enough that he agreed to team up with both Iwa and Kiri to destroy the place.

Even then that tenacious family took out almost 80% of their combined forces (with a majority of them being from Iwa) before the last man fell. Truly a clan to be respected and feared.

"We happened upon a certain seal that appeared to have been meant for the former and current Kyuubi Jinchuriki. It is a seal that would allow the safe transfer between the two hosts. The process involves leaving a small portion of the beast's chakra inside of the current host and allowing it to slowly dissipate over time." Ay was intrigued. It was a known fact that should a tailed beast be extracted its Jinchuriki would perish not long after if not immediately.

"That still doesn't solve our problems." Although Ay was intrigued, he didn't see how this would benefit them at this time. Perhaps if they could kidnap another Jinchuriki and extract the beast without the other villages, knowing it might help. But as soon as it was discovered Kumo had three tailed beasts, they would suffer a similar fate as the former Uzumaki clan.

"The thing about this seal, sir, is that it mentioned the possibility of splitting a tailed beast into two parts. Yin and Yang. What if we were to split the two tails into two vessels?" The man said with a wicked grin on his face.

The two tails had always been in a difficult position amongst the tailed beasts. It was only stronger than the one tail in the sand by its number of tails. But it was also next to impossible to defeat that tanuki in the desert it resided in. Leaving the two tails as arguably the weakest of the tailed beasts.

However, if they were to split it in two, it could make up for its weakness in numbers. Perhaps both vessels could become a tag-team similar to A and B, or even the gold and silver brothers.

Blinded by his greed and desire for the best for the village, Ay accepted the proposal. What he didn't consider was the necessity of having another child. It was tradition that the Jinchuriki all be related to their Kage in some way, and his only other living relative was now his 15-year-old son. He could not force the responsibility of fatherhood onto his son just yet, so he had no choice but to do it himself.

It was easy enough to ensure that his partner would have twins with medical ninjutsu.

It was unfortunate that he didn't expect his partner to be the Nii clan head's own daughter; 24-year-old Kuroka, the current Niibi Jinchuriki.

Kuroka is a beautiful light-skinned young woman with a voluptuous figure, long black hair with split bangs, and hazel-gold eyes with cat-like pupils.

They decided on her solely because they wanted the next Niibi Jinchuriki to have similar compatibility with its chakra as B had with the Hachibi. There was no better way to ensure this than by having the current Jinchuriki give birth. The child would be nurtured by the beast's chakra from its conception.

Likely the only reason this was an option was the guarantee of the young woman's survival.

Ay sometimes cursed his own stubbornness. Once he had decided on something, he would follow through without hesitation, no matter the consequences.

Even if the poor young woman was less than accepting of her circumstances...

"That's it, Lady Kuroka, you're almost there!" A woman dressed in a completely white jacket and pants said as she provided support to the young woman while between her legs.

"Nyaaa! Hurry up already!" She screamed out in pain as she tried her hardest to both push and give as much pain as she could to the man holding her hand. Both tasks proved to be extremely difficult, especially trying to do both at the same time. So for now, she gave up trying to hurt the man that had caused her so much pain.

"Waaahhhh~" The first cry was heard.

"She's out! It's a girl." The head medic quickly cleaned off the crying infant before handing her over to Kuroka, who held her gently with labored breaths. She knew she still had one more to go, but despite the circumstances, she had already vowed she would treat her children with the same love she never received growing up.

The baby in her arms had the same dark skin tone as her sperm donor, but she had her black hair. She could barely see her golden eyes as well when the baby stopped crying for a brief moment. She looked beautiful. Kuroka was sure she would take after her in the future. She decided on a name almost instantly.

"Yoru. Her name will be Yoru, nyaa" Kuroka said with her cat-like verbal tic. Although she wanted to hold on to her daughter a little longer, there was another begging to come out, and she also had to fight back the Niibi trying to escape her seal.

A few hours later, the second child was born. This one is also a girl, but almost the complete opposite of her sister. She had her mother's light skin and her sperm donor's blonde hair, though her eyes were dark, similar to her older half-brother.

Originally, Kuroka wanted to call her second daughter Yugito, but she felt Mahiru fit better.

Night and day. Yoru and Mahiru. The hidden cloud always was pretty bland with names.

Kuroka was happy and vowed to give both girls all the love she could give. She slowly drifted off as they were preparing to extract and reseal the beast. The process would apparently be rather painless, so she felt relieved she could finally get some rest.

It was just a shame that when she awoke, Yoru was already gone.

[A/N: Man this took a lot longer to get out than I thought it would. I hate how it feels like I have no time to write anymore. Anyway, this is the start of a new project that I've been working on for a while now. Haven't seen many naruto stories that don't initially take place in the leaf village.

In any case, I'll let you all know now that Yoruichi is the same age as Kakashi, Rin, Obito, and Mei. Kuroka (yes the Kuroka from DxD) is the same age as Tsunade.

I would also like to remind most of you that at some point in time you have probably shipped someone from naruto's generation with either Mei, Anko or even Tsunade. *cough cough Ice goddess cough (go read it if you haven't) cough* The harem list isn't decided as of yet, but do keep that in mind going forward. I am not opposed to adding someone from the younger generation later down the line.

I do have at least one character not from naruto in mind for the harem but don't expect too many more. For now, the maximum is set to 7-8 and I probably won't go higher than that. Feels too hard to manage. That number can decrease in the future.

Finally, what are your thoughts on incest? It wasn't my intention at the start but it feels like a bit of a waste to let such a top-tier waifu like Kuroka go like that.]

Creation is hard, cheer me up!

Have some idea about my story? Comment it and let me know.
