Chapter 30

Title: Chunin Exams 3

....

Three figures could be seen dashing through the gigantic trees that made up the Forest of Death. From their dispositions, one could see they weren't really feeling pressured by the fact that they could die at any given moment.

Well, one did feel pressured, but gazing at the back of her teammates and remembering who they were and how strong they always seemed to be, she felt her nerves calm down a little.

Suddenly, the blond leading the trio suddenly stopped atop a branch. Seeing this, the raven haired boy and pink haired girl also came to a halt.

Sniff. Sniff.

"Is there a problem?" Sasuke asked, noticing Naruto's behaviour.

"Yeah. We're being followed..." Naruto said with a frown. "...And they're strong."

"How strong?" Sakura asked nervously.

"On a scale of 1 - 10...4." Naruto answered before smiling and giving her a thumbs up. "They're not a problem, the problem is..."

"How they managed to catch up with us so quickly..." Sasuke finished.

"Yeah, we just began the test a couple minutes back...This can only be possible if..." Naruto continued after throwing Sasuke an annoyed look.

"They have it out for us." Sasuke finished once again causing a vein to sprout from Naruto's forehead.

'Wow. They're so in sync...' Sakura thought in amazement as this was a first since they became a team three plus months ago.

"I was going to say: If there luck was good, bastard!" Naruto shouted while pointing at Sasuke angrily.

'Or maybe not.'

"Oh... For a moment there I thought you wisened up..." Sasuke said before turning to look behind him as three young kids appeared in succession atop a tree branch a distance from them.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't the loudmouth tree hugger." The one in the lead said as he smiled sinisterly at the Konoha trio.

Sakura frowned as she took a deep look at the trio confronting them. Like them, they were a team with two boys and a girl, however, what bothered her was the fact that the girl, unlike her, was actually threatening.

However, Sasuke looked at the three before looking condescendingly at Naruto and asked. "4? That's your estimate on their individual ability?"

"What? From afar they did smell a bit dangerous." Naruto defended himself before looking at the trio and then said.

"I think even you, Sasuke would have some trouble fighting all three at the same time." Naruto continued.

"Heh, look at their lousy posture. How could they ever think of defeating me?" Sasuke sneered arrogantly. "I won't even need to activate my Sharingan."

"Hey guys, we don't even know what their individual Jutsus are, don't you think evaluating them now is a bit..."

"No... Sakura-chan, we can actually see their power level, individual Jutsus as well as chakra level." Naruto said without thinking but Sasuke was quick to continue.

"Nii-san has made it a second nature to us." He said

"Oh... Shun-san did, huh?" Sakura nodded in understanding. From Naruto's word, she thought they could see something she could not, which was actually true, but from Sasuke's, she felt it had something to do with experience.

As for what Naruto and Sasuke were seeing:

Dosu Kinuta:

Strength: 3

Agility: 6

Endurance: 3

Defense: 3

Skill: 6

Chakra: 3

Zaku Abumi:

Strength: 6

Agility: 6

Endurance: 3

Defense: 3

Skill: 4

These numerical rankings give you a more precise assessment of their abilities based on the criteria you provided.

(A/N: Overall, Dosu Kinuta, Zaku Abumi, and Kin Tsuchi are at a moderate level of ability with their rankings falling mostly within the range of 4 to 6. Do the math.)

Dosu Kinuta was a tall and lean Genin with distinctive features. He had short, spiky white hair and wore a black headband that covered his forehead.

He wore a large, resonating speaker gauntlet on his right arm, which allowed him to emit powerful soundwaves as a weapon.

Zaku Abumi was a Genin with a punk-like appearance. He had spiky brown hair, and his most notable feature was the pair of mechanical air tubes implanted in his arms, allowing him to release powerful blasts of compressed air.

To top it off, Zaku had a cocky and aggressive personality,

Kin Tsuchi was the only female member of the team. She had long, light brown hair and was often seen wearing a lavender outfit. Kin was known for her use of senbon needles as weapons, which she carried in her mouth. She had a calm and calculating demeanor.

"In comparison to Haku, I think we can take'm." Sasuke said with a grin and pulled out a Kunai from his pouch.

"Still, their skills are in 6(C+). That means, whatever their Jutsus are, their well on the Chunin level." Naruto reasoned to which Sasuke nodded

"Being on a Level doesn't mean they have the required amount of Chakra to make use of it." Sasuke said and pointed to Zaku. "Other than him, the chakra of the rest are way below their rank."

"Yup, but looks like they make up for it with Mastery over their Justus..." Naruto added. "And well, agility."

"Yeah, plus that guy seems to be the strongest amongst them." Sasuke said as his grin turned into an excited one.

In the past three months, after coming to understand how their skill, [Analyse] worked, Naruto and Sasuke had spent a good deal of time exploring and understanding how it works.

From their observations, a random kid in the academy would have his stats all at E or D, with the slightly older ones at D+.

Upon observing the Genins, they came to see that theirs bothered around D and C while the Chunins had their own C, C+ and B.

Kakashi was another issue all together, they were unable to see his other than one, which was defence that was at B+

That alone told them that Kakashi was on a whole other level than theirs. Also, they came to realise upon observing Jounins, that the skill failed to give them a decent feedback.

They ended up with the conclusion that it had to do with a power gap.

As for the numerical aspect of it all, they could both switch between Alphabets or numbers at will.

A and B were 7 - 10, C and D were 4 - 6, E and F were then 1 - 3.

That was how they came upon. The conclusion that the trio in front of them, were only at the early Chunin level, considering that only their Speed reached the peak of Chunin.

Well, Zaku was another case altogether. He has both his strength, speed and Chakra at the peak of Chunin. Of the three, he seems to be the most dangerous, but the very fact that he wasn't the one leading, made them both look at Dosu seriously.

Othe than his skill and speed, everything else was at Genin level...

"What are you two on about?" Dosu asked in irritation as he couldn't stomach the appraising look their prey were giving them.

To the trio, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura were prey. Well, Naruto and Sasuke to be exact.

They had received explicit orders to fight the two to their deaths.

Dosu was many things but an idiot wasn't one of them.

He did a little reconnaissance on their prey and discovered who they were...at least who the village thought they were.

From the information he gathered, weather they won or lost, their lives were forfeit.

Killing an Uchiha and someone related to them in their village only spelt death, but still, Orders were Orders, and he needed to fulfill it.

"That look in their eyes...I think they see us as prey Dosu." Kin said with a sadistic smile as her eyes flickered with a strange light.

"Oh? So the prey thinks of itself as a predator?" Dosu asked coldly as he flexed his gauntlet.

"Why don't we take one each and be done with this. The earlier we finish, the earlier we can leave the village without alerting the Leaf." Zaku said, he hands Beginning to make a shrill noise that made the area around them vibrate weirdly.

Dosu observed this coldly before snorting. He turned to Sasuke and said. "I'll take the Uchiha, looks like he'll be more entertaining."

"Then I'll take the blonde." Zaku said, leaving only Kin who looked at Sakura and licked her lips excitedly.

"I guess that leaves me with pinky."

"I think they're underestimating us." Naruto whispered to Sasuke who nodded and said. "It's for the best, that way, we can finish them quickly."

"Eh? I thought we'd be able to get some little exercise in?" Naruto whined but Sasuke shook his head and said.

"We have more important things than fighting with these weaklings. Also, Kiba could be rushing to the tower now you know?"

"Gah! That right...but knowing Kiba, I doubt that." Naruto replied.

"And you forget he has Hinata with him." Sasuke rolled his eyes at the blond.

"You're totally right." Naruto said with widened eyes. Then turning to Zaku who seemed to be out for blood, he said. "I don't know your problem with us, but we'll be finishing this up quickly..I've got important things to take care of."

"Don't we all? However, I'm afraid you'll have to stay here... Permanently." Zaku said menacingly.

"Yeah, yeah, sure. Come at me." Naruto waved his hands at the sound nin. He had seen menace, and the kid in from of him only made him want to laugh.

How could he take him seriously when he has met with the ridiculous might Shun and his circle of friends always seem to exert when they come together?

"Gladly..."

"I don't see what's so special about you that will make that person pay attention to you." Dosu said as he sized up Sasuke.

"That person?" Sasuke asked with a frown.

"Hm," Dosu nodded. "He seems to think highly of you, to the point that we were sent to actually be...Tch."

"You know, I don't usually talk much to strangers, but I feel like we're having a conversation here. Words are important in conversations."

"Are you making fun of me now?" Dosu glared as he clenched his gauntlet covered fist causing Sasuke to instinctively take a step back.

"What was that?" He asked.

"Nothing much, just what I will be using to kill you." Dosu said before dashing at Sasuke with his hands raised to throw a punch.

"You seem... like a princess...have you ever had to kill someone before?" Kin asked as she sized up Sakura who was glaring at her.

"You don't seem to be that much of a fighter...wait, are you the mascot of the team?" Kin said in an attempt to taunt Sakura.

"Mascot? Please, don't lower me to your standards." Sakura snorted and clenched the kunai in her hands tighter.

"My standards? Sorry but you're not even close. As you are now, you're nothing but a damsel that will always be in distress." Kin said. "I mean, look at your teammates, they do have that confidence embedded in them, that much I can see, but how about you?"

"..." Sakura looked over and saw the smiles Naruto and Sasuke sported as they clashed with their opponents.

"Lemme guess, you're very much aware of your weakness, but you feel...ashamed to ask them help in that regard...You feel inferior?" Kin asked only to see the look in Sakura flicker for a moment.

"I'm right aren't I? No wonder you weren't in the mission. I understand the two but you?" Kin snorted and then looked at Naruto and Sasuke with a blazing hot expression.

'Ah, how wonderful it'll be if I kill them and deliver them to Orochimaru-sama.' She thought but her rational mind made her understand she'd be sending herself to her death should she try to engage the two

"Guess I'll settle for you." She said and immediately spat out numerous Senbons from her mouth.
