2 Chakra!

{Konoha Hospital, Konohagakure}

...

As I thought about my place in the fictional world. The coldness increased as my breath hitched. The doctor who was healing me spoke up, likely noticing my agitation: "It would be best if you stay still, Kohaku-kun. Your injuries aren't healed yet."

I turned my eyes to the medic-nin. He was a middle-aged man, his white beard an indication of how long he had been alive, a rarity for a war-torn world like the Elemental Nations.

'A medic-nin, a specialized shinobi who deals with injuries. In the show, there were very few trained medic nins.' As far as I can tell, he is healing me now. From the memories that I had seen, Kohaku Uchiha was nothing special, so there was no reason for me to get this treatment.

As thoughts about my current situation and the bizarre reality that I was a part of settled in me, I leaned back into the bed and closed my eyes. If Shoda or whatever his name was was an enemy, then there was no chance for me to escape. My body still felt a little weird, but that was a given considering that I was now in the body of a 5-year-old. everything felt so big and disproportionate, so this would take some getting used to.

"Good job, Kohaku-kun. You should rest more for, although your injuries are not serious, your lungs and esophagus were scarred due to smoke inhalation. I'm currently fixing them, as Sensei only worked on your head."

I nodded and tried to relax. It wasn't that hard, considering the warmth flooding my chest. I looked down at the green chakra in interest. Even if the situation was quite adverse right now, not everything was against me. Sure, my life had a timer right now, but at the same time, this was an opportunity.

Chakra was something akin to magic. its significance in my daydreams in my past life was similar to magic in Harry Potter. Even if I had thought about this very scenario of being transmigrating into the world of Naruto or Harry Potter a couple of times, I never thought it would actually happen.

'Now that I think about it, you need to meditate to unlock your chakra, right?' I thought and closed my eyes. I tried to focus on the warmth that was flooding me. The feeling was similar to lying down under direct sunlight, how the rays of the sun were slowly absorbed by our bodies.

I didn't know how long it took as I lay down there, but slowly, I could feel it a lot more clearly, how something was entering my body through my chest and soaking my body from the inside out. After the initial success, I focused my attention on making sure that I didn't let go of the presence of energy that I could feel. It was unlike anything I had ever felt.

The chakra flowing through my body was like blood. It felt liquid as it moved around my body, but it also felt a lot lighter. I tried to influence the chakra, but it didn't budge. It continued flowing through my body. Instead of trying again, I focused on tracing the pathways it was traveling by.

According to canon, everyone's chakra pathways are different. That's why the Hyuga's gentle fist only works with the Byakugan. And now that I was in a world that had plenty of monsters working in the shadows, the only way for my continued survival was dependent on this very energy that was flowing through my body.

As I focused on my chakra it took me a while to find the source. It was a little different than what I was expecting. According to the Byakugan x-ray that was shown in the show, there was a flame that was at the center of Naruto's stomach, and since Neji was not surprised at its placement, I was expecting the chakra core or chakra source of my body to be the same.

But it seems like the heart was responsible for a lot more than just pushing blood throughout my body. With each beat, I could feel it since I was so focused, and as it was pumping blood, a minuscule amount of chakra was pushed out from the heart. The generated chakra followed along a pathway that connected the heart to the abdomen.

The chakra was still stored in the abdomen, and I could feel that I had the most chakras there. It swirled around in a bunch of closed networks of connections. This bunch of networks had 5 openings from where chakra left. 4 of these pathways went through each limb, diverging and disappearing from my senses as the concentration of chakra was not enough for me to focus on where it went.

My grasp of chakra was still rudimentary, but with time, I think I would be able to control it a lot more easily.

'Not that I could control much of anything, I could just follow along and track my chakra network for now.' I thought.

It took a while as I continued my observations. I was lost in observing my chakra when I suddenly noticed that the chakra that was healing me had disappeared. A sudden wave of panic emerged in my mind as I focused on my chakra, trying to memorize the pathways, fearing that I would lose access to my newfound grasp of the network.

I focused on following a small portion of the chakra as it originated from my heart and made a complete loop to my right arm before returning to my abdomen. As soon as this cycle finished, I started focusing on another portion of my chakra, following the same pattern on my other limbs, and suddenly, it clicked.

My understanding of my chakra network increased as I could sense a vague blockade of chakra on the center of my right palm as another portion of the chakra went through it. I hesitated as the vague feeling started disappearing, so I decided to take a risk and decided to abandon my current approach.

I focused on the blockade once again. It was probably minuscule and tiny when compared to the naked eye, but as I kept feeling more and more of my chakra rushing through it with every passing beat, everything became a little clearer.

I exerted some focus, and after a moment of floundering, I was able to exert some control over the blockade. With a mental command, an unknown gate opened, and I could feel chakra disappearing from my network and rushing out of said opened gate.

I opened my eyes and looked at my right hand. Even though it was very light, I could see very faint blue energy rushing out of the center of my right hand.

The blue screen returned, and with it some information.

AN - Some insight into Chakra. This story will focus on the exploration of Chakra and the Shinobi world, so if you are looking for fast-paced action where the MC fires jutsu after jutsu at the enemies, I'm sorry, this won't be it. I want to see if I can create a more realistic portrayal of chakra and shinobi so the story would be a slow burn with MC exploring a lot more about chakra and the shinobi arts in the first 20-30 chapters!
