The first thing he noticed about the game-like screen was that it was sharp. His eyesight was still blurry, and his whole body was throbbing slightly. His eyes watered involuntarily. Still, he was able to perfectly see the screen in front of him.

He heard the sound of retreating footsteps but when he tried to use his hands to support himself, his abdominal muscles screamed at him to stop.

'What the fuck happened. I remember going to sleep and then...' He thought as he tried to remember. He was reading a light novel and as his eyes became heavy, he remembered curling into his warm bed and going to sleep.

'When the fuck did I sign up for this bullshit.' Ren thought. He was aware of the troop of transmigration with gamer powers. And if his body wasn't screaming at him to go to sleep he might have appreciated it a little more.

*Click*

The door opened with a click as he turned to look in the direction the sound came from, as soon as he focused on the door, the blue screen in front of him became transparent, leaving behind a faint outline allowing him to see who came. While he was struggling with his pain and the current situation, his vision had returned to normal.

The man who entered the room looked large, from his understanding of the setting of Naruto, most of the shinobi were on the shorter side. Inoichi was tall, around 6 feet tall, his shoulders were wide, and his face was set in a stoic look, even though Ren could tell that he had a concerned look in his eyes.

The man moved swiftly in a couple of steps he was beside the bed where Ren was sprawled on, his actions though caused Ren to back away, at least he tried to before his face scrunched up in pain.

"Take it easy Ren-kun, no need to aggravate your injuries." Inoichi pulled his hand back, he noticed that Ren was staring at the glowing chakra in his right hand.

'Alright, so he does remember some of our clan capabilities, that's a good sign.' Inoichi sighed.

"I'm not gonna hurt you Ren-kun," Inoichi took a step back, enough for Ren to judge that he wouldn't do anything without his permission.

"W-who-" Ren started speaking but his throat clamped up, the dryness was itchy and Inoichi immediately motioned for Ino to pass the water bottle.

*Gulp* *Gulp*

As Ren took a couple of gulps, the cold water rushed through his food pipe giving him a momentary relief. He looked into Inoichi's eyes, his thoughts were still a little jumbled but as the sensations of pain and relief he was feeling were all too real, he could tell that this wasn't a dream.

"Thank you," Ren spoke, he noticed he was speaking in Japanese, it seemed he had inherited more than the broken pieces of memories from 'Ren Yamanaka'.

"It seems like you remember me, can you tell me who I am?" Inoichi asked, he was suppressing the hope within himself while at the same time stopping his impulse to check the boy's head.

"Inoichi... Yamanaka... the head of... Yamanaka Clan of ... Konohagakure." Ren replied. He was having difficulty forming complete sentences as his instincts to speak in English collided with his newfound grasp of Japanese.

Still, he noticed that Inoichi's face blossomed into a soft smile, he didn't know what was happening. 'Ren's' memories didn't tell him how he landed in this situation.

'Did he train too much and pass away, or did we swap places? If we did what would a shinobi do in the modern world...' Ren thought, his attention was once again taken by Inoichi who waved his hands at him to get his attention.

"Why don't you rest for some more, I'll get you a nice bowl of miso soup," Inoichi spoke before he motioned Ino to follow him. At his motion, Ren nodded before he turned to look at Ino. Her pale pupilless eyes did unnerve him a little as her hair framed her face, the green hair clip was quite noticeable as the girl gave him a small smile before she followed Inoichi.

[Ino Yamanaka Lv-3]

...

Ren closed his eyes and let his thoughts flow, the absurdity of the situation ate him up for a bit before he managed to control his thoughts and focused on the HUD interface in front of him. As soon as he thought about the blue screen it went from transparent to a glaring dark blue.

The options were quite good but he needed more information before he made this irreversible choice.
