Chapter 54: Sasuke Entered Naruto's Body

After a brief interlude, the three found themselves seated in the examination room for the first session of the Chūnin exam. Sasuke's eyes swept across the room, taking note of the other participants.

"Those three from Sunagakure all possess strength beyond that of a Chūnin, and that Gaara is still the Doublechūriki of the One Tail," he thought. "Hyuga Neji is on a team with the 'kappa' and is a student of Mr. Might Guy, who is Mr. Kakashi's close friend."

He noticed a guy with gray-blue hair and glasses who seemed immensely powerful. "What is going on? Why is there such a character among the Konoha Genin? And he seems to be watching me secretly. I wonder why."

There was also a girl with red hair and glasses, wearing a grass-hidden village forehead protector, who seemed to have a significant amount of chakra. The noteworthy people were likely just these few. Apart from those from Konoha and the Sand, there were participants from Takigakure, Kusakashi, and the recently emerged Otonin Village.

Uzumaki Naruto exclaimed, "Ah, that's the senior! But he gave up in the third qualifier before. Why does Sasuke think he's strong?"

Hatake Kakashi scolded him, "Naruto! Keep your voice down. That guy could be associated with Orochimaru!"

Previously, after the third qualifier of the Chūnin exam, the same person had attacked Sasuke, taken down several Anbu with ease, and was eventually stopped by Kakashi.

Orochimaru chuckled, "Kabuto, it seems you've been exposed in every world you're in."

Yakushi Kabuto silently pushed his glasses back up his nose. He had intended to stay under the radar during the first round of the exam, but was unexpectedly noticed by Uchiha Sasuke from another world. He was indeed the genius favored by Orochimaru.

Uchiha Sasuke questioned, "That guy who has taken the Chūnin exam seven times, is he actually any good?"

Hatake Kakashi replied, "Well, he's about 50/50 with me. That's dangerous for you guys."

The first exam was about to commence. Sasuke looked at the nine questions on the test paper and was mildly surprised. "These questions are a bit challenging," he thought. "I underestimated the Chūnin exam before, but these questions are quite substantial."

However, for him, it was not an issue. He picked up his pen and began to answer them effortlessly.

Nara Shikamaru mused, "The first test is about intelligence gathering, right?"

Yamanaka Ino confirmed, "Yes, it seems that only Sakura in our class can answer these questions by herself."

Uzumaki Naruto realized aloud, "Ah! Were we supposed to answer those questions? Darn, I was so anxious back then, I didn't know a single one!"

Uchiha Sasuke called him an idiot for only realizing it now. Jiraiya pondered how Naruto managed to pass such an exam.

"He passed because of the tenth question. The previous ones he turned in blank..."

Everyone burst into laughter. Handing in blank papers and still passing the exam was utterly unbelievable.

Sasuke, meanwhile, answered the questions with ease.

Sasuke looked up and noticed something was off. He observed that most of the people surrounding him appeared very anxious. Focusing on the examiners to both sides, he deduced that the examination was likely designed to test intelligence gathering skills.

Without uttering a word, he silently mused that he might have overestimated the difficulty of the Chūnin exam. To him, the topic was only a minor challenge.

Observing his confidence, a few people rolled their eyes at Sasuke. "Do you think everyone is as talented as you?" they seemed to question.

Orochimaru commented, "After all, Sasuke over there is a genius who learned Chakra Nature Transformation by reading."

"With the number of books he has read," added Hatake Kakashi, "he could probably pass the Jōnin exam with ease."

Yuhi Kurenai quietly said, "Jōnin exams probably don't cover the extent of his knowledge."

Senju Hashirama reflected, "It's sad; this young man, being the Uchiha patriarch's child, suddenly finds himself with nothing but books."

Senju Tobirama admitted, "I actually feel a little sorry for the unfortunate Uchiha."

"Ohnoki pointed out, "If he wants to enhance his strength, reading is his only option. Unlike Sarutobi, who arranged Jōnin tutoring for his grandson."

"The struggle to uncover truth requires him to read and think on his own," noted the Fourth Raikage.

"We regard Uchiha Sasuke as talented and strong, but it wasn't easy for him to reach this point," acknowledged Terumi Mei.

Sasuke then glanced at his teammates. Sakura was diligently working through the questions without issue. In contrast, Naruto was restless, like an ant on a hot pan, contemplating whether to sneak a peek at his neighbor's exam paper.

Sasuke sighed inwardly and decided to intervene. Spotting a moment to catch Naruto's eye, he activated his Sharingan and cast a genjutsu.

"Naruto, I've put you under a genjutsu. Now, I will control your body. Don't fight it," Sasuke's voice echoed in Naruto's mind.

"Sasuke!" Naruto was almost moved to tears, feeling overjoyed hearing Sasuke's voice for what seemed like the first time.

"Wow, Sasuke, I'll never insult you again. You're truly my savior!" enthused Naruto within his mind.

"Be quiet, don't talk!" Sasuke chided crossly.

Sasuke groaned internally. It felt like he was taking care of Naruto like a devoted mother with her child. Assuming control of Naruto's body, he quickly worked through the answers to the questions.

As Sasuke prepared to withdraw from Naruto's mental realm, the scenery abruptly shifted to a dark sewer, and there in front of him was a colossal prison.

Namikaze Minato revealed, "This is the sealed space of the Nine Tails!"
