Fuinjutsu!

{Commanders Tent, Base Camp}

'He doesn't have Shisui's eye right now, so he isn't that dangerous... Speaking of Shisui...'

"How was the situation then, did you get into any major battles?" Hiakru asked, he wanted to know if Danzo had already started collecting spare sets of the Sharingan.

'Both Danzo and Obito had almost a wall of spare Sharingan eyes, so they must have either collected them during the two wars or during the massacre.' 

Hikaru did like to be a part of the Uchiha clan, almost all clan members were isolated and minded their own business. It's just Daisuke and his actions have tainted his view of the clan a little bit.

"We haven't had many battles, just a few skirmishes here and there... Jiro died in a surprise attack by a couple of Suna Jonin." Koichi replied with gritted his teeth.

Hikaru remembered Jiro, he was one of the Uchiha who had a fully matured Sharingan, he looked at Danzo to see if he showed any reaction whatsoever.

'It was either him or the White Zetsu doing Madara's bidding...'

"Did you send him back to Konoha," Hikaru asked with a frown on his face.

"No, we couldn't recover his body, a couple of Chunin that were assigned to Jiro's team saw the Suna Jonin kill him and then seal him into a scroll before they ran away," Koichi replied. 

"That's weird," Hikaru spoke and he got a confused look from Koichi, he shook his head, he indicated to him that he would explain what he meant later. Orochimaru walked into the tent and had a brief staring contest with Danzo.

Hikaru didn't see any hostility between them as Orochimaru walked into the war room and looked around.

"Alright, almost everyone is here, Hikaru, pay attention to the meeting and make sure to remember everything that is being discussed. Tsunade said she couldn't be here because she is busy with healing some of the more serious injuries so she will get the specifics from you later," Orochimaru spoke before he motioned everyone to gather around.

He pointed at the map of Land of Rain and began speaking, "We were able to push most of Suna's forces back from the Kenzo pass, and the area around Souma village is temporarily within our control. Hatake Juro is in charge of that area, he is staying behind to create a temporary outpost in the village."

"But our supply route got attacked yesterday so we are running low on both short-range throwable weapons and explosive tags. While we can't do anything about the kunai and shuriken shortage we can surely help a little bit with the Fuinjutsu." Orochimaru spoke.

"Anyone who is willing can stay behind and make some tags before they go out to the battlefield again, you won't have to take on the burden alone and your merits will be noted down, this should just last for a few days, by then we would secure the supply line once again." 

'Did some shinobi sneak through the borders? But then again this problem will keep happening throughout the war. Just by disrupting our supply routes, Suna or any other nation could force us to use quite a lot of manpower to make sure that the front lines are properly funded with weapons and food.' Hikaru thought.

'Since something like actual teleportation is possible in this world, teleporting objects should be a lot easier no, since there is less of a chance of ripping apart a kunai?' The question popped into Hikaru's mind and then he tried to apply the theories he knew about Fuinjutsu.

'We already can secure objects in a storage scroll, it is kind of like a private pocket dimension that the scroll can access. Another scroll would have a different pocket dimension that it links to. What if I can create two different scrolls that link to the same pocket dimension.' Hikaru thought.

It didn't take him a lot of time to come up with a solution to the problem, but the thought itself was worthless without the knowledge required to push it through.

Until now Hikaru had learned just 3 seals, the storage seal, the basic explosive tag, and the intermediate explosive tag. Of these 3 seals, he knew about 21 different seal symbols and Kanji that he could interlink to perform various effects. The symbols were very basic and it was basically a creative way of writing Kanji to shorten the needed resources.

These mini seals could be divided into 3 categories, the first is a Kanji that stores chakra in itself. It worked like a capacitor that stores charge and energizes the circuit. Every seal has one part that stores chakra within itself that makes sure the seal remains functioning.

Now these Kanji could be chained together in many creative ways thus branching it into several different fuinjutsu styles, and then these combinations could be chained together to form batteries that store the fire-natured chakra one uses in a basic exploding scroll.

Apart from the Kanji that could store chakra, there are Kanji that govern how chakra moves through the seal and which part receives it. They work like the brain of a seal that controls which part activates first and in what order the seal functions. 

In a basic exploding tag the control part simply opens the floodgates and lets go of all the compressed chakra with a bang creating an explosion. Similarly on the other hand, in a storage scroll, the control part has to make sure a steady supply of chakra connects the storage Kanji to another set of Kanji, which is called a 'connect' Kanji.

It kept the pocket of space stable and made sure that it didn't destabilize destroying the item stored within. This was all the knowledge that Hikaru had before today, but now he knows that just like the 'connect' Kanji, he now knew that there were Kanji that especially govern specific elements.

'Flow', a special Kanji that is capable of storing and refining water-natured chakra, makes sure that even when the normal chakra is stored within this seal. It flows the chakra through itself in a rhythmic manner slowly turning normal-natured chakra into water-natured.

Similarly, there were 4 other Kanji. 'Vibrate' was responsible for lightning, 'Sharp' was responsible for wind. 'Collect' defined Earth and 'Consume' represents Fire.

'The "connect" Kanji is although associated with space, it is nothing but a mere beacon that connects to preexisting space in a pocket dimension. There must be more of these Kanji but currently, I only know these because I leveled up my skill to Intermediate level...'

'But what if I can find someone who would teach me all the symbols and then I can work my way through this complicated language...' Hikaru thought as he turned to look at Jiraiya who was lounging around in a corner.

{On the other corner of the Tent}

Jiraiya was an orphan of the First Shinobi World War. He had grown stronger and overcome his dead-last title. He was still underestimated simply because he was a member of a strong 3-man team. Orochimaru was not only a tactical genius but also inherited Hiruzen-sensei's genius for Ninjutsu.

Orochimaru could use the variety of Ninjutsu he had learned to adjust his actions according to the battlefield. Tsunade was a medical genius, she had refined her skills to a level where she could heal herself mid-battle if both Orochimaru and Jiraya distracted the enemy for just a little bit.

That left him, he was still the eccentric one. The Toads helped a lot with his firepower as they were super versatile. In almost any situation he would take his summons over his teammates. Fuinjutsu was another thing that was his specialty, although Orochimaru also dabbled in it Fuinjutsu a little bit, it was Jiraiya's expertise.

Jiraiya leaned at the back of the command tent with a relaxed expression on his face, to be honest, although being looked over stung a little bit. He hated responsibility more than anything else, so he enjoyed the little freedom that he had.

"...I have been working on improving my Fuinjutsu, I have a bunch of spare exploding tags in my tent that could help," Hikaru spoke, Jiraiya leaned forward in interest. He had heard about Hikaru's exploits from the ongoing war, and Tsunade always looked surprisingly proud of his achievements until Orochimaru pointed out that she didn't teach him how to fight.

'He's interested in Iryo Ninjutsu and Fuinjutsu...' Jiraiya thought, both of those were obscure arts that most normal shinobi ignored. And judging from Hikaru's fighting prowess, he didn't need to waste his time on these two subjects to get stronger.

While Jiraiya respected Tsunade's dedication to medical ninjutsu, he wasn't that interested in it. Fuinjutsu to him scratched the itch of messing with the fundamental laws of chakra.

'I should check his seals to see how far he has progressed...' Jiraiya thought, the seals that any shinobi could learn were limited to the storage seals or the exploding tags. Any other seal formulae were normally the property of a clan and they guarded it very well.

Unless you know how to disguise and compress seals, anyone who knows about sealing could mess with the seals or crack the security and get the formulae. That's why sealing is an obscure art as most of it was safely stored behind tight security by the clans and even if it is used it is used in its compressed form.

The reason Jiraiya was able to learn seals even though he was an orphan was because of Hiruzen and Arashi. Hiruzen introduced him to sealing to channel his mischievous energy into something creative.

Arashi Uzumaki was the one who really harnessed his talent for Fuinjutsu, he allowed Jiraiya to learn some of the marginal seals from the Uzumaki Clan. Now, he stares at a young Hikaru, who although has a strong backing with the Uchiha clan, lacks the fundamental knowledge to support him in these obscure arts.

'He's Tsunade's student though... should I search for an apprentice as well when the war is over. Toad sage did tell me about that prophecy...'

Hikaru looked over at Jiaraya who was lost in his thoughts with a goofy smile on his face.

'Yeah, I'm not dealing with his brand of idiocracy...' 

Orochimaru nodded at Hikaru and then he continued, "Along with that we would need to transfer some personnel to secure the supply route. Each Platoon should recommend 1 member that would from tomorrow be stationed at base camp... That's for the general reports, is there anything that anyone would like to add?"

~Cough~ ~Cough~

Danzo coughed a couple of times and after sharing a nod with Orochimaru he looked over in the direction where Yuna, Hikaru, and Koichi stood.

"I got a message from the front lines. The Raikage himself led a surprise charge against the Uchiha clan who were stationed at the border. In order to defend his clansmen, Daisuke Uchiha sacrificed himself..."

Hikaru froze for a moment... this was different from the long drawn-out battle with the clan head that he was expecting. It was anticlimactic, although he knew some things about the future it still caught him a little off guard. He knew that Daisuke wasn't even mentioned in the story. And since he was the clan head of the Uchiha clan he should be a famous character, enough to be mentioned in the show.

'The only explanation was an early death, I was expecting him to die early but not this early.' Hikaru thought as he looked over to his side. Koichi was frozen in shock, with his Sharingan flaring to life, after a moment of grief, he stabilized himself as his chakra calmed down. It was Yuna who was surprisingly hit harder as her chakra flared a lot longer.

Danzo watched over in interest as both Koichi and Yuna reacted as he expected the news of Daisuke's death. Hiruzen and he had planned to deal with some of the core personnel of the Uchiha clan in this war but Daisuke died before they could even conspire.

'He really had a grudge against Daisuke, that means his son Fugaku who should take over the clan after his father's death should be against Hikaru too...' Danzo thought, the plan to sow discord within the Uchiha clan would be surprisingly easy.

'Should we start a little early?' Danzo thought as he coughed another time to get everyone's attention.

"The Uchiha clan has my condolences, Uchiha Daisuke got a hero's end. A hero who protects his village and a hero who protects his clan. War is both mental and physical torture, each and every shinobi out there is battling his own demons while fighting the enemy."

"A hero is a symbol of strength and Konoha needs more heroes to fight, to protect what is its own. In light of this, I nominate Uchiha Hikaru for a field promotion to Chunin because of his achievements in the war. And his selfless sacrifice to step forward in need of time for his fellow comrades. Anyone who disagrees could voice their opinions right now..." Danzo finished his little speech.

The whole tent became shrouded in silence as everyone looked over at each other. Hikaru thought, 'Since when the fuck does Danzo cares about the heroes of the Uchiha clan... what does he want?'

No one said anything but Orochimaru's eyes glinted, now was the perfect time to strike.
