4 Training Over A Year

Ryouma's POV:

It has been a year since I met Obito. Our friendship has grown leaps and bounds within this time. We have many other friends as well but our duo is different, some might even call us inseparable by now. I have come to genuinely care about him, well it is hard not too. This guy did change Kakashi's emo ass back to something tolerable. And you know that's not what I meant..

Anyway, Obito is pretty dumb about almost all the things but he has that determination to pursue till he can achieve it. This guy really reminds me of Naruto.

So slowly over time our playtime has changed to training in disguise. Physical training disguised like running, rock climbing, high jumping, long jumping and various other sports that were popular in my previous world.

Mental training like finding odd things, where one of us would change something in the forest and other one has to find it or trap making or a simple find me, where one of us would hide and follow the other and other had to catch the hidden one and many more games.

Things like mind-body coordination, analytical abilities, reaction time, accuracy and synergy is also important, for them too I have taken help from anime and other stuff I watched in my previous life.

In nutshell, our training is also going smoothly, I tried to have him learn calligraphy for fuinjutsu but he was bored out of his mind so he never learnt. Well, his choice.

But, Obito this loudmouth everyone about how we play/train, it's not that I am worried about. Unlike Obito others could see purpose of these game/ training methods and now I am considered as a genius for thinking of such methods to train. And it is my fault too, I mean I shouldn't have recreated sports like soccer and basket ball on whim. Atleast I had not recreated all the rules because that would be straight up suspicious.

But still being a genius is not that bad, now the clan will just closely monitor my progress and help where they think seems fit. I am afraid if they came to know everything I have kept hidden, they would certainly lable me as prodigy, and being a prodigy in Uchiha clan means I would have bear the weight of expectations of whole clan like Itachi did.

Of course unlike him, I don't give a fuck to their expectations but it will still sour the relationship between me and my library of techniques. That is something I would rather not want.

There are many more things happening outside the village, most important would be the start of fourth great shinobi war about nine months ago. Yes fourth, by now I have already accepted that this is an au world where there has been some change between the formation of village and first great shinobi war. And the change is so big that it has its effect showing up till now and I am sure it will not stop here. It seriously sucks, almost all the knowledge of plot has become useless. There might be some new characters too, with their unique powers.

Well atleast the knowledge of techniques, remains the same. And I am not sure if there are any changes is in the ancient era but I guess not because then nothing would have remained same.

Village also had reduced the age of joining academy to 4 and graduating it to 9 so as to create more ninjas in next half a decade.

(I believe that is the reason as Kakashi and others entered the academy at 4.)

Father has headed to the war along with many uchihas but still village is hesitant in sending more due to the ongoing culling.

Both mother and me am worried about him but he is also one of the strongest Uchiha and no he doesn't have mangekyou.

My search for historical events to find out the change has not bore fruits because no matter what excuse I give to mother, she won't give me stuff higher than what was taught in academy. And also because other than few events, there was nothing in canon about the period before kakashi. So I could only speculate if or not that event has happened in history and what are its implications.

Moreover I can't just blindly believe the academic version of history, I have noticed several attempt to glorify our cause and belittle others. In many fights konoha ninjas are shown as the protector and preserver of peace while other villages try to distupt it.

And well I tried to sneak and read the books, but mother noticed. Well we came to an agreement that as soon I graduate from academy and become a genin, I could read them. Well she is in for a suprise if she thinks that she kept the books away from me till I am 9.

(A/N: Well, mc is just a 3 year old kid, atleast in his mom's eyes. And the books he wanted to read did nothing to hide the cruelty and misery of the war. Any child upon reading that will have his mind affected. Like Itachi became a complete pacifist upon witnessing war on age of 4.

She realises it hence she didn't allow it. But she also knows that he may be called to war after graduation, so she allowed it. He should know the horrors of the place he is about to enter.)

On a more personal note, due to war medical ninja are being sent to frontlines, hence there is a lack of doctors in the hospital. Mother had been called to help there because she knew some medical ninjutsu from her time as ninja.

'Thank goodness for that, not like I don't like mom, I adore her but recently it is becoming quite difficult to act as child and not every thing can be explained by being prodigy.'

My calligraphy practice is going great, I have read a book about basic fuinjutsu and it explained the importance of having smooth flow while drawing seals. Even things like thickness of lines drawn, spacing between lines, quality of ink used can bring about huge differences in effectiveness of a seal. I even learnt the most basic explosion tag seal that was provided at the back of book.

The seal was purposely given the most basic amendable.as it wanted the readers to do their own modifications in it and that what I am doing.

I have also started to learn Uchiha's taijutsu, which relies on sharingan's visual prowess. It is a counterattacking style where predicting your opponents movement, user counter attack. This helps the users to fight multiple opponents even if everyone has same physical abilities.

(A/N: Well, I have checked on internet, but there everyone said 'What's the need of taijutsu style if they can copy others?'. But obviously taijutsu is more than just fighting styles. Every fighting style has a unique physique, which can't be copied. So obviously Uchiha as a clan would develop their own style. I think this would be it if there is one.)

My training with kunais is going great but my shurikenjutsu is a bit lacking. And how could I forget about ninja wires, they are a pain to deal with but I am also managing it.

Aside from that, I am also learning about other miscellaneous things like poisons, rare plants and animals.

But my 'hiding and training ' routine ends today because today Obito and I are going to have our chakra unlocked. Yayyy.

And after that we can finally begin our official training. Both of us are quite a bit excited about that. Especially me, it has been quite torturous to wait for it. I really want to see what this modified Mera Mera no mi will have in store for me.

(A/N: I am not going to make him overpowered but yeah, he would be a bit above his peers.)
