5 Chapter 5 : Survival test

***I wrote this chapter with a lot of fatigue and a lot of sleep, there will definitely be some grammar mistakes so be cool 😔😴***

The next day at the training ground indicated by Yamato, Obito, Karin and Yakumo were seated in lotus position, the three formed a triangle while Karin held the tiger mudrâ to shape her Doton nature of chakra while Obito and Yakumo held the rat mudrâ for their Inton (Yin chakra).

This meditation exercise to manipulate and shape their chakra they had been practicing diligently for years and it helped the girls but also Naruto for his part to have excellent manipulation of their chakra and also to constantly familiarize themselves with their chakra natures.

 Yamato arrived and greeted them, he wasn't late but they were there early, he asked them what they were doing and Yakumo told him that they were working on their chakra manipulation.

 Yamato: Hum with the mudras corresponding to your main chakra nature. It's an excellent exercise but you shouldn't skip the steps.

 "Sensei, we already know how to walk on a tree or run on the surface of water." Karin said proudly and Yamato told them he was quite impressed.

He asked them if they were ready to start the exercise and their response was positive.

 "At the top of the big tree behind me there is a white flag, the aim of the exercise is for you to manage to grab it, you will have one hour to try while I will try to stop you. I expect cooperation, coordination and team spirit from you. You have 5 minutes to organize yourself before we start." Yamato said calmly as they saw the flag on top of the tree.

 Obito: Kinoe sensei, there's no need. We already have a plan.

 "Hmm ?! I see you have prepared yourself. Any questions before we béguin ?" Yamato asked them as he walked near the tree and Yakumo put his hands behind his back to form the mudra of the rat, the dog then the snake.

 "Sensei, should we use all the techniques at our disposal ?" she asked innocently while Yamato responded positively.

 "You can start whenever you want..." He told them as the three charged towards him with Obito at the front who sent a series of rapid attacks at Yamato who had to recognize that the young man had a scary Taijutsu in just a few strokes.

Obito didn't have any wasted movements and his punches were powerful. Yamato tried to seize him but he did a back flip to get away while Karin and Yakumo threw kunais at him which he avoided by jumping but while he was in the void, Obito threw a kunai at him which he dodged before noticing the explosive tag linked by a wire to Obito's Kunai burning near his face.

 *BOOOOM*

 The tag exploded and in Yamato's place, a damaged and burned wooden log fell to the ground, he had used the substitution technique to escape.

 "That was well done, your combination wasn't bad but it's actually going to take more ti-(stops)" Yamato stopped his speech as the image he was seeing began to twist and the three genins faded.

 "Sensei ? I think this ends the exercise, right?" Karin said from the top of the tree with the white flag in hand while below, Yakumo was sitting happily on a branch and Obito was lazily lying on another branch.

 "A genjutsu ?! When ?" Yamato asked with great shock, he was an experienced Jounin, a respected Anbu captain but some kids caught him in a genjutsu without him realizing it.

 "Sensei, I tricked you into an advanced genjutsu that is triggered by voice activation. When I asked you if we could use all the jutsus at our disposal was the moment I activated my technique and my chakra flowed at the sound of my voice." Yakumo said humbly and Yamato looked at her with fear.

 "The very second I listened to the sound of your voice it was over and your hands were back to perform your mudras. What a scary technique, it must take some scary talent to master something like that. (sighs) You won kids" He said shrugging his shoulders.

 "Eheheheheh I knew it would be easy, Team Zero will be the strongest in Konoha." Karin said with pride as Obito congratulated Yakumo.

 "I have to go see the hokage to report to him and ask for a missions you can go home and meet here tomorrow at the same hour ." Yamato told them before disappearing by Shunshin.

Karin wanted to say something to Obito but to her surprise, he wasn't even there anymore.

 Further on another training ground, Obito was sitting yawning on a branch as he watched Team 7 in the middle of a survival test, together they attacked Kakashi in an attempt to take the bells located at his waist and it was Naruto and Sasuke who were at the front.

They each attacked Kakashi in close combat, leaving the Jounin to appreciate their very good level and was very surprised at Naruto's skills.

They moved away from him as Sakura sent a volley of Shuriken at him which he dodged when suddenly, Naruto gave a signal to Sasuke.

 The two performed mudras as Sasuke spat out a fireball and Naruto expelled a large sphere of air which mixed with the fire to increase the size and power before it violently exploded.

Kakashi who managed to narrowly escape by Shunshin was Completely surprised.

 "Well done both of you, you got along very quickly unlike at the begining where you were chaotic." Kakashi said crouching on a branch while Sasuke was already breathing heavily, his amount of chakra was nowhere near as huge as Naruto's who immediately summoned over 30 shadow clones which took the appearance of Naruto but also Sasuke and Sakura.

 "How high does this little monster's chakra reserves go?! " Kakashi wondered with shock also visible in Sasuke and Sakura.

 "Here we go" Naruto said as all the clones but including the real Sasuke and Sakura attacked Kakashi on the tree, a terrible hand to hand clash ensued because even though they were clones, Naruto's taijutsu was really excellent with an initial Jounin level so Kakashi didn't have an easy time until suddenly all the clones disappeared while his concentration in the fight was high.

 When the cloud of smoke dissipated, Naruto and Sasuke were in front of him breathing heavily and Sakura had the bells in her hands.

 "Looks like we won, Sensei." Naruto said smiling.

 "Too much concentration on one intense thing leads to neglect of the small things..." Sasuke said as he sat down on the ground to catch his breath.

 "I lost, you got me. Forcing myself to concentrate in an intense melee confrontation made me neglect the protection of the bells for a very brief moment and among all these, Sakura, the real one, slower and less dangerous, took the opportunity to steal the bells.

Very good plan Naruto and the others you followed well without even understanding everything, a Ninja must show spontaneity while trusting his teammates. You impress me..." Kakashi said as Naruto showed his usual smile, he wore the same outfit as in the manga except it was completely black with the same sandals as his brother. 

 Kakashi separated from them after explaining that they had passed the test and were accepted, as soon as he disappeared, Obito appeared in front of his brother.

 "Well done bro, he looked impressed..." he said clapping and Naruto gave him a smile.

Kakashi was renowned for being a genius and Konoha's most effective Jounin in recent years after the deaths of Shisui and Itachi.

 "Pfff" Sasuke snorted before walking off to his side with his hands in his pockets followed by Sakura.Naruto saw him leave and Obito knew what he was thinking.

 Naruto: I feel sorry for him. He had a clan but he suddenly found himself all alone unlike us.

 "He has the funds and techniques of his clan, he has never faced contempt like us every day of our childhood. If he wants to become stronger then he asks the hokage for additional instructors like us instead of brooding in his corner." Obito responded without emotion.

 Naruto: He was Itachi-san's little brother, we can still help him. He's my friend... 

 "It's his path and his destiny, we also had to take charge with the sympathy of a few people where he has that of the whole village, if he stays in his corner it's because he wants to . Come on, let's go train unless you want to go find Hinata…" Obito finished his sentence by teasing his brother.

 Since childhood, Hinata, unlike the others, did not despise them and he taught his brother a simple code "appreciate those who appreciate you even more" pushing him to form a strong friendship with Hinata to her great happiness.

They sometimes went to Ichiraku's house or to the restaurant to eat grilled pork with Shikamaru, Choji, Lee who was Obito's rival in terms of hard work, but also Karin and Yakumo.

It was a small group of ninja their age who never showed them contempt.

 They returned home together where Karin waited for them, Obito wasted no time and went to isolate himself to train in Fuinjutsu, Karin and Naruto complained that he was doing too much but they knew that it was one of the main reasons why Obito was so strong.

He summoned two shadow clones, the first went to train in Ninjutsu, the second in Fuinjutsu and the main body went to find Lee to train in Taijutsu.

He couldn't send a clone there because taijutsu had more physical effects where Fuinjutsu and Ninjutsu concerned chakra control and mental abilities.

 This method, Naruto and Karin, thanks to their large chakra reserves, used it without any problem, they didn't progress as quickly as him but their talent was far above average so they were good at what they did.

 Weeks passed and the teams had already started several missions of their rank, mostly boring missions.

Two days ago, Team 7 was sent on their first C-rank mission, a protection mission to the Land of Waves to ensure the protection of Tazuna, a construction site manager.

Obito, who was extremely protective of his twin brother, had sent a shadow clone to follow them and ensure that nothing happened to him.

It was while protecting Naruto that he lost his eye and his brother's safety had always been a priority for him because people always wanted them harm so it was a defense mechanism.

 As for Team Zero, they were urgently assigned a rank A mission, normally it was a mission only accessible to Jonins or Chunins but they were so competent that Hiruzen trusted them.

The forbidden techniques Scroll had been stolen by a Chunin from the village and it was Mizuki, it had been intercepted by Iruka his friend but the latter was unable to stop him. Seriously injured, he was still able to report the facts to the hokage.

 When Obito listened the details of this mission, a smile almost appeared on his face because if he got his hands on Mizuki and the scroll first, he would have the ability to copy all of these high-level jutsus.

Because even Jonins and Anbu were on this same mission, he had to move quickly.

 "Kinoe sensei, I suggest we split up to look for him, I always move faster alone and if I find him, I will contact you by the earpieces. Separating ourselves will allow us to broaden our field of research more effectively. What do you think ?" Obito asked Yamato with a very serious look before the latter approved his plan because he was going to offer them the same thing to Obito's great happiness.

 The team immediately split up using Shunshin and outside the village, Obito closed his eyes to use Kagura's mind eye to spot Mizuki's chakra signature, he had encountered the Chunin several times before so it would be easy.

Scouting with Kagura's mind eye so far at his age allowed him to check the surroundings up to 20km around him but if he focused on a single chakra signature, his mental eye could see up to 31 km with some effort and he found Mizuki's chakra signature 27 km from the village.

 With a smile, he disappeared from his position to rush at full speed towards the direction of Mizuki who seemed not to move as if he had found a hiding place.

 Later, Obito came to the entrance of a dark cave whose entrance was hidden behind thick rows of bamboo.

He entered and completely erased his chakra signature before going almost 80 meters into the cave to see Mizuki near a small fire as he looked at the thick scroll of forbidden techniques.

Completely focused on his reading and unable to spot Obito, he didn't feel the latter approaching him using the shadow technique he had developed with the incomplete works of Tobirama, shadow fusion. It was an extremely frightening technique that allowed him to move inside shadows.

 Unfortunately for Mizuki, he was in a cave, a dark place while he only had a small fire to declare. He didn't understand how or when but he was immediately knocked unconscious by a violent blow to the back of his head from Obito.

 "No time to waste, everyone to work" He summoned shadow clones who in large scrolls summoned from a seal by him began to quickly copy the contents of the forbidden techniques.

There was so much content that it all took 46 minutes before he put everything away to finally contact Yamato by earpiece and report that he had neutralized Mizuki before giving his position.

 Later, Team Zero and several Jonins including Shikaku Nara were in Hiruzen's office who congratulated Team Zero for finding and neutralizing Mizuki but he specially congratulated Obito for this feat after Yamato's report.

 Shikaku: We came close to disaster Hokage-sama. However, I am very impressed with young Obito's abilities, rumor has it that he is extremely competent in all areas. How did he manage to find the traitor Mizuki ?

 "Sensory abilities, that's all. It's the same way that I know that there are exactly nine shinobis all of Jonin level who are hidden in the room...I could have killed him but he's more useful alive to explain why he did that." Obito responded emotionlessly.

 Shikaku: Did you look in the scroll after neutralizing Mizuki? Have you not been tempted by powerful and forbidden techniques ?

 "Of course I watched, why would I play hypocrisy? No point in the mission mentioned not looking into the scroll." he replied nonchalantly.

 Hiruzen: Have you been interested in a technique? Have you learned one? I know you are a genius capable of learning very quickly.

 "You overestimate me, I saw an instant movement technique called Iraishin, I saw the indicators there but it was really too complex so I immediately contacted Kinoe sensei." Obito replied and Hiruzen but also those in the room who knew Minato couldn't help but feel a shiver, it was the technique perfected by his father so they figured it was natural and instinctive, Minato was a genius, Naruto one of his two sons was also one but Obito his other son was a genius among geniuses.

 Hiruzen thanked them and promised Obito that he will be able to acquire one of the forbidden techniques when he reaches the chuninj rank although they all knew that his level was already far above the Chunin level.

Moreover regarding the Chunins, Hiruzen told them that in a month, the Chuunins exam will be organized and that the Jonins responsible for each team will have to present their teams if they judge them ready and Yamato did this in advance.
