4 Chapter 4 : Team Zero

(5 years later)

 In the Valley of the End, behind the curtain of the waterfall between the statues of Hashirama and Madara was hidden the entrance to a small laboratory where Obito was sitting at the moment.

It had been 5 years since his mission to Kusa and his start of advanced Taijutsu training and he had grown up.

The small laboratory in which he's located belonged to Tobirama Senju and it was thanks to his journal that he found this place where the second hokage was developing certain techniques or storing the scrolls of interesting techniques he had found.

 « Where peace has been honored, behind the tears of the rocks is The place where my knowledge gives life to my creativity… » This excerpt from the diary had greatly intrigued Obito and for months he searched for The place mentioned by Tobirama to finally find this laboratory.

This place was a real treasure, dozens of ninjutsu scrolls to learn but above all notes from Tobirama concerning techniques that he had not been able to complete and which he had never spoken to anyone about.

 Almost one year ago, Gai stopped training him, Naruto and even Karin who joined them to follow Obito on whom she had a crush. The reason for this stop was simple, the Genin team he had to take care of was taking up a lot of his time. Still, Gai had not been the only one to train them but Hiruzen had taken time to teach them ninjutsu, the old man was known for his extreme competence in the field and enjoyed teaching such talented children. 

According to Hiruzen, Obito was definitely a talent monster and Naruto was a high-level genius who matched Minato his father. As for Karin, she was talented enough but mostly worked hard to keep up with the two boys. 

Curious and interested in who Gai's students were, whom he liked so much, Obito ended up meeting them. In this team, Obito met someone for whom he had great sympathy and it was Rock Lee.

The young man was discriminated against because although he had chakra, his manipulation by mudrâs was non-existent to the point where he could not use ninjutsu or genjutsu.

 Obito was a freak of talent and even Gai recognized him as having inhuman potential. Physically, he was a monster with frightening abilities and training developed them even more brutally.

He was a hard worker and like with Itachi, he had asked Gai to make his training hell. In addition to being a true prodigy, he was also a perfectionist and a hard workers. Gai appreciated him for that and it was mutual because Gai unlike the others didn't have this contemptuous look towards them, even when he trained Naruto.

 Speaking of Naruto, unlike the main reality, his overall talent although below Obito who was a monster was still far above average.

He was talented and learned quickly, he had an ideal physique for taijutsu as an Uzumaki but in addition Minato's genius flowed through him.

Gai appreciated his boundless enthusiasm and his self-confidence, he didn't understand how the villagers could hate such a boy.

 Karin also inherited the strong physique of the Uzumakis and trained hard to follow Obito and not disappoint him, he told them that they had to become very strong to search for the rest of the members of their clan to rebuild it and make him more powerful than ever but above all that they had revenge to take on the shinobi villages that had attacked them.

 For this quest for revenge, Naruto had no importance. He wanted to become hokage one day to be respected and recognized by those who despised him.

This goal was sometimes a cause of arguments between the twins because for Obito, they didn't need to be recognized by such TRASH people .

They were the victims and had every right to be the one who looked down on others but Naruto influenced by Asura's spirit was far too different from his brother.

 Today was the day Naruto graduated to be Genin , he was the best student in the academy tied with Sasuke, they were followed by Shikamaru, Shino and Karin who wasn't too far behind.

Because Obito had helped Naruto work on his chakra manipulation since they were 6 years old with Itachi's lessons, his level was excellent contrary to the main reality and he was not a dunce even if he liked to act stupid for wanting to please others.

 Obito had discovered several Jutsu in Tobirama's laboratory but also from Hiruzen, he had learned some wind style with Naruto but also earth and water style for Karin because these were their chakra natures. Obito was able to tune his chakra with monstrous ease to any element so he learned these techniques easily and yet it was far from being his specialty.

 While Obito could easily be compatible with all five nature through his insane instinctive manipulation of chakra, it wasn't with these elements that he was most comfortable but he naturally felt comfortable with the Yin and Yang release and to his delight, a good portion of Tobirama's unfinished Jutsu belonged to this category.

It had been more than 4 years since he had discovered this place and despite the complexity of the second hokage's Jutsu, he managed to understand them with a lot of reading time and study to manage to modify only one of these Jutsu which is now practicable, It was a manipulation and use of his shadow.

 Tobirama had studied the shadow technique of the Nara clan and was working on a variation that he had not been able to develop but this was not the case for Obito who was naturally comfortable with the Yin chakra to develop a Jutsu with frightening potential.

Besides that, he also had excellent mastery of Fuijutsu and had also developed some ninja techniques that was overlooked but with purely frightening potential, the Substitution Jutsu.

 Obito had developed it to the point where it had become equal to a teleportation technique and could switch places with an object within range of his senses or a living being with chakra within the range of his Kagura mental eye, it was an effective technique but difficult to use in the middle of a fight except for Obito whose reaction speed was far superior to that of Minato.

 How did Obito have time to learn all these Jutsus? Shadow clones and his insane amount of chakra.

Thanks to these same assets, he had been able to complete the 337 missions given to him in five years because he was a solo Genin, a total exception which would end today.

Obito closed the scroll he was holding after meditating on it, he got up before leaving the laboratory which he closed with an Earth Jutsu and placed a higher rank seal on it.

His outfit had changed, he still wore his black short-sleeved jacket with white fur with black shorts and higher ninja sandals this time (Sasuke shippuden sandals style).

 At 12 years old now, he had gained in size, he wore black gloves and a mask of the same kind as Kakashi's to hide the lower part of his face, he was completely dressed in black as he disappeared from there to appear above the head of the Hashirama statue while a bird has taken its place behind the waterfalls.

 "Today is the day I meet my Genin team, Karin must be really impatient. (sighs) Alright, enough wasting time…" He muttered before yawning and then he disappeared by Shunshin .

 (at the academy)

 "He's late, it's really starting to annoy me." Naruto commented grumbling near his team with Sasuke just snorting looking away and Sakura's response was quick to be heard.

 Sakura: If it bothers you that much then you should leave, you moron.

 Naruto just ignored her but that wasn't the case for everyone in the room, Karin was also there and didn't liked Sakura or the other kids who looked down on Naruto, she had been influenced by Obito who had told him their story and especially how he had lost his eye.

 "Oi Sakura, I'm going to ask you one last time to be careful what you say to Naruto, if he's too nice to send you away properly I wouldn't mind giving you a mouthful so that you can give him a speak correctly." Karin said completely annoyed from across the room.

She was sitting next to a pale-skinned girl with brown hair, it was Yakumo Kurama.

 What was Yakumo doing there? She had managed to overcome her physical weakness but also the Ido spirit which inhabited her mind thanks to Obito years ago.

Three years ago, Hiruzen assigned a high-ranking mission to Kurenai who would be assisted by Obito to handle Yakumo's case.

Because the young girl had shown herself to be physically unfit to become a ninja like the others, Kurenai had told her that it was impossible for her to be a ninja and frustrated by that, the young girl by mistake in a split second had made Ido appear, that had only lasted a fraction of a second but it was enough to be spotted by Obito.

 Obito, unlike Kurenai, encouraged Yakumo and told her that it was totally possible for her to become a Ninja like the others. She'll be quite weak physically but will be able to compensate with something else, Genjutsu.

She was a prodigy in Inton (Yin release) but lacking in other chakra natures, Obito told her that he could help her with training but that it wasn't going to be easy because of her health and that 'he would only stop if she gave up.

 Obito was barely 8 years old and younger than her but he had such confidence that Yakumo decided to believe in him.

For 6 long months he put her through basic physical training but which was hell for the young girl, he taught her how to better shape her chakra and Kurenai, touched by Yakumo's efforts this time, had really decided to train her.

 During these 6 months of training for Yakumo, Obito had seen her make so much effort that he took pity on her to the point of trying something, the healing bite that Yuko told him about but even he didn't expect the impressive effects it would have.

Obito even for an Uzumaki was an anomaly, their natural faculties were augmented in him and he had a terribly great life force to the point where when he convinced Yakumo to bite him, she had been invaded by a life force so great that She didn't feel weak in her body for a whole week.

 It was a miracle, a miracle that was only possible with Obito and it allowed her to follow normal training like the others avoiding tragedies that happened in the main reality. Once a week, Obito was bitten by Yakumo who had become dependent on him, for Obito it didn't bother him too much because his little bites healed rather quickly and they only took a tiny part of his energy because over the years his cellular regeneration but also chakra had increased monstrously .

 Yakumo ended up returning to the academy to follow training like the others and was just behind Karin in terms of results.

When forming their team, she and Karin were involved by telling them that the last Genin on their team would arrive so that they would form Team Zero under a Jounin chosen for them.

 "Karin, you shouldn't lose your temper like that I think her words don't even affect Naruto-kun..." Yakumo tried to calm down Karin who was actually her best friend.

 Karin: Tch, you and Naruto are just too nice to people like her...

 Immediately, one of the windows opened and before everyone even looked in that direction, Obito was already in the room crouching on the bench table where Naruto was sitting, this surprised the others who flinched.

 "I didn't even feel him approaching, how can he be so fast ?!" Sasuke wondered, looking at Obito with a serious look as the latter looked at his twin brother.

The young Uzumaki had a solid reputation as a prodigy, the boy who had become a Genin at age 7 and had completed over 300 D, C and B rank missions, he was rarely seen but he was certainly the strongest and experienced Genin despite his youth age.

 "I wasn't surprised, why are you here bro?" Naruto asked him.

 "Today I joined Team Zero so I came to meet my two teammates" Obito responded by waving to Karin and Yakumo who responded happily, Obito was a solo Genin and they were pleasantly surprised to find that he was the last member of their team.

 He nonchalantly jumped off to head towards Karin but immediately, Sasuke stopped him.

 "You...I want to challenge you..." Sasuke said as he stood up as sweat was on his forehead and Obito looked at him calmly before smiling.

 Obito: Start by beating my brother and we'll see...from what they say, you are equal in academic results . 

 He ignored Sasuke by yawning before joining his team, Sakura had no courage to look at him because the rumor about Obito didn't stop at his number of missions or his talent but above all the fact that he was cruel and violent with those who looked at him with contempt.

He didn't have the patience or the same desire for acceptance or friendship as Naruto, a sideways look or an inappropriate word towards him and the culprits were found cruelly beaten with broken bones, ninja or not, and on several occasions he was claimed to the hokage's office for his excessive violence.

 "I thought Hinata would be on the same team as you rather than this girl, too bad for you bro. I won everything with Karin and Yakumo…" Obito taunted his brother as he left towards the members of his team.

 Naruto: Pfff I would have plenty of other opportunities to see her and train together. In the meantime, my team will be much better than yours.

 Karin: Yeah, we'll see.

 "You don't think our Sensei really take too long to come ?" Yakumo asked as she was annoyed by their delay but Karin told her that she felt two chakra signatures approaching and a few seconds later two Jounins entered the room, they were Kakashi and Yamato which still bore the name Kinoe.

 Kakashi upon entering quickly noticed Obito with whom they exchanged a quick glance before ignoring each other, it was not their first meeting. Kinoe approached his group and introduced himself.

 "I was the Anbu captain codenamed Kinoe and you'll address me that way. From today on, you, Team Zero, will be under my supervision by order of the Hokage and I will do what is in my power to make you a strong team. Well, how about we go out and get to know each other better in a more open place." Yamato said calmly. 

 "I know the perfect place, sensei..." Obito said smiling and several minutes later, they were at Ichiraku's booth and it was much bigger than in the main reality while Teuchi and Ayame were no longer the only ones there because Yuko decided to work with them.

The redhead woman was so beautiful that their clientele had increased drastically to the point where they had to open a small restaurant, not to mention that she was excellent in cooking.

 They each introduced themselves by sharing their objectives, including Obito who aimed to revive his clan. Yamato showed them that he was a very easy-going person and apologized for being late because he was coming back from a mission and he didn't know that he was going to take care of a Genin team .

They had a good time and just like Kakashi with his team, Yamato arranged to meet his team the next day for a survival test to judge their notion of teamwork.
