Chapter 30: the Imoogi

When Mujin entered he immediately felt a sudden rise within the energy inside the cave. He knew exactly what it was.

He heard a growl and followed by it was a flash of dark light that flew right straight to him. Cheon Mujin, expecting it, already dodges it with his movement technique that resembles that of a snake's slithering.

He heard the growl once again and felt it come for him again for the second time, Cheon Mujin dodged it the same way he did last time.

He looked up to see what that creature was and saw a long serpentine creature.

It had dark and glistening scales, with the smell of rotting blood. The head that was growing was as big as a human's body, and it looked like a snake. But there were hundreds of black spikes above its head. As Mujin looked at the long body that ran from the inside of the wall to another side, he mumbled,

"Imoogi… the Sky Demon Sword's visage…"

It was the dragon serpent that Mujin saw in the manhwa. The dragon serpent was a snake in the myth that had acquired power but could not become a dragon. It was also discussed in some old books. The book had described the dragon serpent as a holy beast with white or blue scales that lived in the lake, but this black dragon serpent was more like a terrifying monster.

The imoogi opened its large maw and struck.

It was giant, but the speed was too fast.

Cheon Mujin quickly used his running skills to run across the cave wall, avoiding the dragon serpent's poisonous fangs. The fangs struck the cave floor, destroying it. The snake then turned and glared at Mujin with glowing red eyes. The latter responded with a more sinister smile and eyes before saying.

"You are the prey, not the other way around buddy." Cheon Mujin struck his sword at the serpent and a clanking metal resounded.

"You are not even a real imoogi, you are nothing but pieces of metal marionette by the dark demon qi,"

Then Cheon Mujin looked at the serpent with cold eyes. From the manhwa and the novel, the twenty-four pieces of metal that forms the Sky Demon sword was at Imoogi's head and the rest of it's body being nothing but an illusion.

In the manhwa Cheon Yeowun performed the Sword Force of the Sky Demon against the snake and the latter submitted to Cheon Yeowun.

Sword Force of the Sky Demon!

Mujin's body left a trace as it divided into twenty-four traces of Mujin moving through to strike the dragon's head. Sounds of metal clashes rang through the room. As his word struck through the head, the dragon serpent shot through Mujin. He had to be inside the dragon serpent, but he couldn't see anything when he dropped down.

"I did it!'

Mujin then turned.

"So... this is it!"

In the air, he saw the twenty-four black metal pieces hovering there, moving slightly.

"Ah! There you are my precious,"

As Mujin got up to see it, something weird happened. The twenty-four pieces immediately began to gather up and combined themselves into one. Its shape mirrored that of a sword.

It was a dark sword that glowed while still hovering in the air. Mujin was speechless at such a mysterious scene and carefully walked to the sword. He then saw the engraving on the blade

[Sky Demon Sword]

He reached out his hand and the sword flew towards him. When his hands made contact with the sword a mysterious dark energy ran down him and entered through his veins and energy core.

Soon Cheon Mujin's world turned dark. Mujin was able to feel it clearly. The vast darkness that tried to consume him was now being sucked in. It was so fast that it was as if the darkness was all but imagination.

And when the darkness was sucked in entirely, the entire place turned into a white area.

The area trembled, and the surface below turned into a water surface and something shot up from behind. It had beautiful, pearl white scales that had a shape of a white dragon. But it was too small to be a dragon and it had small horns.

'Dragon serpent?'

It was similar to the black dragon serpent he saw earlier, except it had white scales and horns. The white dragon serpent then looked up and roared. It was a roar that had enough holy energy to shake the entire space. As its body moved, the scales squirmed and Mujin saw it growing in size.

'Is it growing?'

The horn also began to grow longer, looking as if it was going to turn into a true dragon.

But when the dragon moved, the area around it thundered and trembled. The surface also shook like a sea under a huge storm. It was then - with the sound of something being cut down, the white dragon serpent screamed in agony.

'Ah!'

The reason was at the horn. Someone had cut down the dragon serpent's horn. The white dragon serpent screamed and twisted its large body and the white scales soon turned black. Its yellow eyes turned red and the man who had a black robe walked up to him with a satisfied look.

The man had a black sword in his hand, and it was certain that it was the sword that said it was the Sky Demon Sword that Yeowun grabbed before being locked up in the darkness. The dragon serpent became infuriated and charged at the man. That's when the man's black sword unleashed dark force qi.

'That's what I'm looking for,' He thought.

He had never seen such dark force qi. The man charged at the dragon serpent, unleashed a powerful sword formation, and stormed him. When the man dashed past the dragon serpent, its head had turned into many pieces.

'Sword Force of the Sky Demon!'

Mujin was able to recognize what this sword force was. It was the third formation of the Sword Force of the Sky Demon. After that the dragon serpent was slashed in many pieces as it died in agony. The man then stabbed his sword at its head and something dark shot up from it.

After such a spectacle the man turned his head towards Cheon Mujin and said as if he was talking to the latter.

"It will take a long time for it to consume this." This imoogi is not for me to take." He said in a smile.

Cheon Mujin bowed his head in front of the man and responded.

"Thank you, ancestor."

And with that his vision came back and he disappeared from the white space. He woke up back to the real world and smiled.

He looked at the black wristguard around his wrist and smiled.

Cheon Mujin then checked his energy core and saw that it was different from before. It was now dark and sinister, as if it was corrupted but he knew this is the supreme energy for someone who is a demonic practitioner in the Sky Demon Order.

Dark demon qi but Sky Demon Qi sounds much better, as he would like to call it.

Cheon Mujin looked at the wristguard on his wrist and poured the same energy dark inside him into it. His body shined in dark energy showing a terrifying demonic presence the same as the dark dragon.

The wristguard disassembled and turned into a sword. Mujin looked up to the sword and smiled.

"Very nice." He said.

Cheon Mujin looked at the floor and saw a horn, the same horn from the dragon serpent.

"I'll leave you to Cheon Yeowun." He said.

It's going to be much more entertaining if Cheon Mujin were to have a proper weapon when he fights him. He doesn't want to have that man a shitty weapon when fighting him as that would be an insult to him.

"Well then, ciaó. I got what I wanted."

And with that Cheon Mujin walked out of the cave shocking everyone as for the first time since the demonic academy's founding, the earliest pass on the fifth test happened.
