17 Chapter 17

Today is finally the day I would be entering UA. It would be exciting to see all the characters that I once saw through my screen and interact with them in real life.

I was up early today as I like to do everything on time. I got ready, had my breakfast and went outside my house with encouragement from my parents. Me and Izuku went together to UA.

He still hasn't told me about One For All which is understandable considering this deals with the world's Number One Hero All Might and he would be careful before revealing this fact to anyone. We made our way to the institution which was near our house.

The acceptance rate this year was just as small as it always had been. One in three hundred. Four people got in because of recommendations,and 36 through the regular exams.We were split into two classes of 20 students each.

We passed through the gates and marvelled at the architectural beauty that was UA. We got our timetables from the admin office as we made our to class 1A.

We were the first ones to come here so the class was empty. As the time passed, students started trickling into the class. With them coming into class, I was secretly excited to interact with them.

There was Kirishima, Mezo, Kaminari, Iida. There was also Ojiro who came to talk to me once he saw me in class.

"It's so nice to see you after such a long time. How have you been? asked Ojiro.

"I have been pretty good Ojiro. What about you?. Like that we started catching up. Ojiro had been training rigorously while making sure to properly train his tail as well.

Bakugo had also come around this time. He stared glaring at me almost as if I took away his properties or something when he looked at me. I didn't bother giving him two seconds of my attention.

The girls were also present with Ochako talking animatedly with Izuku. He wasn't as much of train wreck with women as he was in canon.

"Go somewhere else if you want play at being friends" Aizawa in his iconic yellow beansuit said in a monotone and sleepy voice.

Not noticing that the teacher was here (except me because I knew he would be coming) all the students were flustered and quickly shuffled back into their seats.

"Okay, it took eight seconds before you were able to go quiet. Time is limited. You kids are not rational enough" he said in a bored tone." I am Shota Aizawa, pleasure to meet you. I will be your homeroom teacher".

The people were confused as they had never heard of a hero like that plus his whole demeanor looked worn down. We were then instructed to change into our school uniform and to meet him on the school ground.

We went to change and quickly grouped together on the field where we were informed about the 'Quirk Assessment Test'. There were things said like what about orientation and stuff but Aizawa shot it down.

"If you really wanna make the big leagues, you can't waste time on pointless ceremonies. Here at UA, we're not tethered to traditions. That means that I get to run my class however I see fit. You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives. But you never got to use your Quirks in physical exams before. The country's still trying to pretend we're all created equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It's not rational.One day, the Ministry of Education will learn. Hidaka, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was farthest distance throw in softball when you were in Junior High" asked Aizawa.

"Around 110 metres" I replied to him. He then told me to try it again but this time using my quirk.

I came forward and stood in the circle while I contemplated on how to go about this. 'Well I could do it like that'.

So I exerted my telekinetic energy to the surroundings and started to manipulate it to give it the shape of crossbow. I put the softball into its place and stretched it to the limit. Then I released it. It was sent beautifully across the the sky.

Aizawa looked at the measuring device and showed the distance it covered. 3549 metres.

The onlookers were pretty shocked seeing the results and were talking about how fun the hero course would be. Well they shouldn't have said that.

"So this looks fun, huh? You have three years here to become a hero. You think it's all gonna be games and play time? Idiots. Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last has none, and will be expelled immediately".

With that ultimatum uttered by our homeroom teacher all the cheerful attitude deflated pretty quickly.

Ochako distressed, said,"You can't send one of us home! I mean, we just got here! Even if it wasn't the first day, that isn't fair!

"Oh, and you think natural disasters are? Or power‐hungry villains? Hm? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities? No, the world is full of unfairness. It's a hero's job to try to combat that unfairness. If you wanna be a pro, you're gonna have to push yourself to the brink. For the next three years, UA will throw one terrible hardship after another at you. So, go beyond. Plus Ultra‐style. Show me it's no mistake that you're here".

So with this very 'encouraging' speech by our homeroom teacher our tests began.

First was the 50 metre dash. I made boosters on my legs which led me to reach the finish line at 1.08 seconds with Iida clocking at 3.04 seconds. Izuku due to mastering One For All early than he did in canon was able to finish in 2.06 seconds.

Next was the grip strength. I just kept on increasing the pressure till the machine couldn't handle it. This was easy considering the fact that I could punch the zero pointer into oblivion.

For the standing long jump, I just created spring like structures under my shoes to pass the test. I created reflective surfaces on either side of myself to bounce off them for the repeated side steps.

For the ball throw, as expected Uraraka got infinity on the test. Bakugo due to my presence had trained much harder so his result was 750.3 metres. Izuku clocked in on 809.2 metres.

This result did shock Bakugo as he thought he was just some quirkless kid who got in due to his support items.Seeing him surpassing his result with just the virtue of his quirk was a huge dent to his fragile pride.

He did try to attack him to make Izuku spit out what was going on but Aizawa quickly put a stop to it warning him and proceeded with the tests. There were other tests like push-ups,sit ups, long distance runs and seated toe touch which were pretty easy to begin with.

With all the tests being finished, it was time for results. As expected, I was at first place with Izuku and Momo coming at second and third place respectively. Bakugo was fuming that he wasn't placed first if his expression was anything to go by.

Toru Hagakure placed last on the overall evaluation. Well I would guess that she would be pretty scared considering the warning Aizawa had given in the beginning about expulsion.

"Well about the expulsion, I lied. It was just a ruse to make you perform to your almost limits". With the convenient lie out of the way our first day came to a scary but exciting end.
