CHAPTER 30 An Unexpected Date

  Oris's POV

I cleared my throat, trying to calm my nerves. It wasn't often I asked a girl out on a date, not really being a regular on the dating scene, it was all so foreign to me.

"Oris," Elsie said, answering the door to my knock "What can I do for you?"

Trembling slightly, I felt my throat become tight as I made an attempt to talk "Elsie," I paused "Go for dinner with me tonight?"

"Right now?" Elsie asked "But I had to stay here in case Gracie wakes in the night,"

"Oh," Disappointment fell over me, but I should have known better. Elsie has duties to tend to, that take priority over me of course "These are for you anyway,"

Handing the flowers to Elsie, she took them and buried her nose into the petals as she took a gentle inhale "Oris, Roses are my favourite! Thank you!" The smile on her face was worth giving her the flowers, regardless.
