Chapter 17

As l was putting my laptop, notepad and pen in my bag Ocean held my hand up and looked at the bracelet l was wearing.

"You still have it." He asks looking at me.

He had bought me this bracelet way back for my 15th birthday, he had engraved his name and an 'l love you" and it had 4 small heart charms.

I yanked my hand away from him and the bracelet broke. All the charms fell on the ground and in a split second l knelt down to pick up all my charms.

As soon as l did l bolted out of the lecture room without another word to both Ocean and John.

As l got outside l bumped into someone.

"I am so sorry." I say and lift my head to see who it was.

Marlon

He laughs a bit and smiles at me.

"How come you are here." I ask him as we start walking together.

"That's where my lecture rooms are." He says pointing behind us.

"Oh, so l won't have to walk alone then." I say smiling.

Ocean suddenly comes into view.

Hey man." He acknowledges Marlon who gives him a curt nod and faces me.

"Can we talk?"

"No, " I say and we continue to walk.

"Please." He says again blocking my way.

"You had 4 years of doing that but you didn't so please move out of my way." I say and grab Marlon's hand and we head straight home.

"Ann please." He says and l can see it through his brown orbs that he means it.

I hate it when he calls me that. It makes me want to oblige with everything he says.

"Marlon l will see you home." I tell Marlon and he asks if l am sure and l nod.

"Dan said we going out so l will just text you the address." Marlon says as he walks away.
