215 Chapter 210: Seon-Ho/ Seo Yeon

Hana ran to me hysterically covered in dirt, her small hands reaching out to me before I could scoop her up in my embrace. I started panicking immediately asking Hyuk what had happened but he looked just as upset as his sister and just ran to his room which was totally out of character for him. I started to panic even more until Hui-Jee came storming in with a face like thunder that shocked even Hwi. She told me what happened with angry tears in her eyes and my face grew dark for the first time in a long time. I swear if I hadn't had my daughter in my arms I would have strung Chun-Ae over the palace walls. I was shaking in rage and shock; how dare anyone touch my children? I was shaking so much Hwi had to tear Hana from my arms in case I hurt her despite her constantly reaching out for me.

He tried with all his might to restrain me but he couldn't, my children's faces and cries were permanently etched into my mind as I vowed to kill anyone who touched them. I almost ran to the door until Yeon stopped me, her face was almost as dark as mine and drenched in angry tears. She wrapped herself around me and begged me to wait until we carried out her plan. She told me to go console the twins myself, but no before making me promise her that I would kill her myself if the plan failed.

****************

I stormed off as soon as he went upstairs to stay with the children with Hui-Jee in tow; she had already called a meeting with her old kiseng friends before coming home. We met at an empty tailor shop that was closed for some time now. We started infiltrating them into Nam-Kyu's contacts with servants who had helped her complete her tasks, corrupting all of the male servants who must have helped her as well. I then made my way back to my family where Seon-Ho cradled his precious daughter like she was a baby in his lap with such a heartbroken look I couldn't help but cling onto him from behind and kissed his neck before he broke from his trance. He put her to bed and refused to leave her side. Hyuk lay next to but refused to look at us; he also inherited his father's temper. I just sighed, knowing he was angry. He then held Hwan in his arms and kept him close to his chest as if someone was going to rip him from us.

He looked at me all of them with tears in his eyes and kept apologising until he was crying himself. I had to take Hwan out of his hands in case he accidentally hurt him. I just held him in my arms all night and got both us dressed early in the morning to the palace, leaving our children in the hands of our servants, hopefully for the last time. This was all my fault for not taking my position as a nobleman's wife seriously.

Nam-Kyu usually met with her 'husband' at the place gates to pay respects to the royal family but this time I demanded he took me this time for the first time as his wife; dressed in one of her robes and accessories that I swiped from her room. She looked absolutely enraged but she couldn't say anything as the King had called for us after spending time in the palace to recover from various treatments. Seon-Ho asked me if I was sure about this and I just nodded my head in reply. We walked in a hurry in order to leave her trailing behind us for once. The King's heath was at an all-time low so we had to visit him in his royal bed chamber with some of the other officials.

Everyone started whispering about the sight of the army general with the two women who were enemies in tow. The Queen shot us both a nasty look but I just smiled at her in return, infuriating her even more. She then turned her attention to Nam-Kyu and greeted her with a smile before asking her about the state of the army's progress rather than my husband himself. But before she gave her a chance to reply I did it for her, leaving her humiliated once again. The Queen pretended not to hear me and asked her another question but I also answered again. She lost her temper this time and shouted at me in from of everyone but I just rebuked her back; claiming my position as Seon-Ho's first wife.

Everyone started whispering like crazy after I revealed the truth; that I was indeed his first wife while Nam-Kyu went around for ages, claiming my role due to her imaginary influence in the palace. In that moment Hui-Jee entered the room right on time, angering the Queen even more. We all knew both women had a sour history when she refused to let the Queen use her gibang as her headquarters. Her face was turning purple with rage as she joined my side. She asked us the nature of our relationship and it suddenly piqued her interest. She turned to Chun-Ae and confirmed her banquet invitation for two days' time.

He had a short meeting with other officials who were shocked that he hadn't dismissed me as well when Nam-Kyu left the room accordingly but he assured everyone that he shared all his plans with me as I came from a family with a similar background. I tried as hard as I could to stop myself from laughing at their reactions, some of them looked like they were going to faint! They tried to catch me out but I answered their questions perfectly. I could hear Nam-Kyu stifle her outrage from behind the door which made it all the more hilarious. As the meeting ended and Hui-Jee rushed out of her sight before she could catch up with us so we could meet with the kiseng girls we infiltrated into her family. We already got all the information we needed, as the male servants easily fell for every trap they had laid out for them. We thanked them and let them go home before my husband caught up to us. My sister-in-law bade us farewell and started playing her role in the market. Seon-Ho wanted to take me home but I insisted on staying for the first time and I had brought the twins to join us. He looked at me with a confused look on his face but I just kissed him in return and waited for their arrival. I made sure they came and joined us every day at the palace until the banquet was held, leaving Nam-Kyu to figure it out all on her own.

Everyone who loved the twins spoilt them. Hyuk didn't let Hana out of his sight and she didn't let her father out of her's...for as much as he could anyway. They couldn't stop praising them and they didn't get into much trouble...until Hyuk was found playing with one of the bastard princes who ran away from his tutor for a couple of hours. But before Prince Bang-Won could reprimand him, I arrived in time and pulled him to the side, knowing he couldn't do anything to me due to the relationship he had with my brother. He had that same look on his face again that usually got me into trouble with my husband. He made his way towards me with a creepy smile on his face that I wanted to slap off. Without saying a word he reached his hand out towards me but before he could do anything Seon-Ho 'accidentally' broke his hand by walking into it with his heavy armour on. It caught him by surprise and he started screaming. He didn't even apologise in response, he just took his son by the arm and walked him to the office with an angry look on his face, and told him they would talk about it later.
