I Can't Marry You....

Shalom park has always been a center of attraction. Known for its beauty, serenity and energy, people flock there everyday to take pictures, have picnic or just sit around enjoying the smell of the blooming cherry blossoms. Karina, a beautiful young lady sat under a purple Jacaranda tree, gazing up to the sky with loneliness and melancholy oozing from her. It was around noon and the sun was nowhere to be seen, instead the clouds condensed as if welcoming the arrival of a rain. "Looks like it's going to rain." Karina said to herself which sounded almost like a whisper. "How I wish it could wash away the pain I feel right now." She sighed. The sky rumbled, confirming the presence of an incoming rain. Karina stood up, packing her bag and prepared to leave but stopped suddenly after taking five steps. She stood there till the rain began. It started as drops but soon increased and within no time, Karina was soaked. She stood under the rain for about 8 minutes, shaking and sneezing continuously. Passers-by looked at Karina with strange gazes but went their way without approaching her. Tired of standing, she crouched and shivered like an animal hiding from its predator. After a while, footsteps echoed in the rain, getting clearer and clearer until it stopped beside Karina. The footsteps belonged to a young man who covered Karina with his suit and shielded her from the rain with his umbrella. Having bent for long, Karina had a hard time standing and could only stand with the help of the young man. "It's you!" After having a clear look of his face, Karina exclaimed. "Yes, it's me but what on earth are you doing in the rain like a kitten abandoned by its owner?" He questioned confusedly. With a bitter and lonely smile, Karina asked "You think so too?" *"I Can't Marry You...."*

"Come to my bed, I can warm you." He ordered and it wasn't a recommendation manner.  I cringed because he just demonstrated me another shade of him. It gave me goosebump as he laid on his mattress, directing to his large king-size bed that had space for four people. I gritted my jaw and aimed to leave when he said, "I never said you can leave!"  I halted while my hand was still on the door handle. He was not joking at all. At that moment, I felt the pain that was lashing me from backward and frontward. His hand wrapped over my belly, and his wings embraced my body. "What..." "Hush, I said, you can come to my bed."  I was scared of him for a moment. He drew his wings back and took hold of my hand.
