34 Chapter 34

Titus

I was lying on the floor of my cell when the door to the basement opened and closed. I looked up to find James trying to open the lock of my cell.

The moment my eyes fell on him I sat up, "What are you doing here?" I asked him.

"I am here to help you run," he replied as the key turned into the lock with a click sound.

James opened the door and stepped in, then started uncuffing my hands and neck.

"Where did you get the keys, from?"

"I stole it from my, father," he answered.

I looked at him gratefully, his father might kill him for this. What James was doing for me, I would never forget in this life.

"Come," he offered his hand to me for standing up.

I took his hand and stood up from the floor and stretched my whole body. Each bone in my body was aching from the lack of physical activity.

"Let's get out of here before anyone notices," James said to me walking out of the cell.

I followed him but the door to the basement opened and two warriors stepped in.

"You are supposed to be our your cell," one of the warriors growled.

"Then put me back in," I said and attacked him.

James took the second, I thrashed the warrior's head onto the bar of a nearby cell and he slumped to the floor unconscious.

"We don't have to kill any pack members unless it's one of our fathers," I instructed James who had been successful in making the warrior faint.

We climbed the stairs out of the basement and stepped out into the corridor of the packhouse. It was deserted, luckily. We took the way to the back door of the packhouse. I took a deep breath the moment we stepped out of the packhorse into the open air.

I looked at the packhouse and then at the alpha house. It must have been nearly dawn because everything was enveloped in silence. A sudden urge to meet my mother arose in my heart but I knew if I wanted to see my mate I would have to give up the idea of meeting my mother for now.

"Does Mom knows?" I asked James.

"I am here on her orders," he replied.

"Where is my father?"

"Out of town on some Alpha business," James answered.

I sighed as I looked in the direction of the packhouse and pressed my eyelids together, shutting my eyes.

"I will come back for you, Mom," I thought with determination.

"Let's move," James urged.

"Yes, let's go," I said.

We both shifted and took a run towards the woods surrounding our pack. We might have neared the border when I heard the howling of the wolves.

"Fuck, they know," James growled through the mind link.

Soon we were being chased by wolves from our pack. The fastest of them was Beta Brandon.

"James, let's do this," I mind-linked James, "It's your chance to avenge your mother," I halted in my tracks and so did James.

We could have outrun them but I wanted James to end this chase once and for all. Beta Brandon deserved to die and this was our chance. The wolves caught up with us and surrounded us. They growled as they circled James and me. We both were standing with our backs to each other.

It was us against six wolves, including the beta of our pack and five of the strongest wolves. We won't be able to make it out of here alive if we don't kill them and I didn't want to hurt innocents.

My fight was against my father and not any pack members. I didn't want any of my pack members to die at my hands but I would gladly kill Beta Brandon. For all that he made James go through since childhood and for letting his mother die.

"Anyone of you doesn't need to die, it's just us and Beta Brandon," I growled through the mind link.

"Of course, I am more than enough for you two," Beta Brandon growled back, "back of you all," he addressed the other warriors.

James stepped beside me, "This is my fight," he growled through the mind link.

I stepped aside and let him take over, he was the one who deserved to kill the motherfucker, Brandon.

James and Brandon circled each other and then Brandon was the first to attack. They both kept fighting, kicking, and biting each other. I knew James's wolf, Ryker, was strong but Brandon had years of experience.

I just hoped that James won't let his emotions rule him he needed to keep a clear head if he wanted to kill his father.

Their wolves were fighting to kill and no one had an upper hand till now. James bit down on Brandon's shoulder and a howl erupted in the air.

The next moment Brandon's wolf kicked Ryker in his stomach and he stumbled backward. Brandon climbed upon him and was about to rip his throat when Ryker jerked himself making Brandon lose his balance.

They both continued the duel, their wolves rolling over each other trying to hurt the other as much as they could. Sabre was getting impatient, he had not forgotten the whipping Brandon gave me. If not for James, I won't have thought twice before killing that son of a bitch.

My thoughts were interrupted with a painful howl, Ryker had been successful in chipping out a piece of flesh from Brandon's leg.

His wolf was howling in pain as Ryker hovered on him and then leaned and ripped his throat with his teeth. He spat the chunk of his throat at the ground in hatred as blood gushed from Brandon's throat and his body started to shift. Ryker stepped over his dead body and looked up to the sky and howled declaring that he had finally avenged his mother.

The warriors who were surrounding us attacked and Ryker and Sabre took over to quench their thirst for the blood bath.
