13 Chapter 12: Dark Elven Queen

"I'm not gay, dude! What are you talking about being your bride?"

Xerel exclaimed. Thorfinn looked at him confusingly.

"What is gay? Does marriage not exist in your race?"

Thorfinn asked.

"It exists, but not in a way that you're mentioning."

Xerel replied.

"So marriage with the same gender does not exist in your race?"

"Well, we have it but it's not normal- no I mean it's weird for me- I mean I'm not homophobic, I respect that type of relationship. What I'm trying to say is that I don't accept that marriage!"

Xerel tried to explain it in a more specific way. Thorfinn nodded in thought after listening to his explanation.

"I see...you are those types of people who are hard to get. But don't worry, I'll do anything to make you mine."

"Didn't you hear me? I said I decline that marriage proposal of yours! Plus I'm underage!"

"What? How old are you?"

"I'm 17"

Thorfinn was too stunned to speak. His batons fell on the floor as he twitched showing a sullen look on his face.

"T-to think...I tried to court a-a c-child...."

He wanted to bury himself with the embarrassment and shame that he started digging on the ground using the batons as a makeshift shovel.

"I have stained my reputation as a king! I'm a total scum! No, I'm a monster! I must isolate myself for a hundred years so I can atone for my sins! Oh, dear Zula! This follower of yours has committed a grave crime! I will accept any punishment you give!"

Thorfinn continued to shovel the ground until it was 6 feet deep. He then jumped into the hole and bury himself.

'Crazy bastard! But to think he'd bury himself on the ground. Well because of that, I can finally escape!'

Xerel dashed away from Thorfinn who continued to murmur to himself even being on the ground.

He escaped the ridge by climbing back to the top and left hurriedly. He ran as far away as he could until he arrived in a desert.

'Now that I've escaped that madman, let's focus on hunting monsters.'

Xerel scanned his area but he couldn't find any living organisms. He started walking around the desert.

"That man, I think Thorfinn was his name. He's from a race called Vars but there should be no race in the Mega-Earth called Vars. He looked like a human-size ogre yet more tribal. He said he was a king and the leader of Vars. He must be from another earth that we haven't discovered yet. To think that he was able to destroy Rafiery that easily and if I had fought him longer, I would've certainly died, now that I don't have any good weapon, I have to stick with this one for now until I can find a good one."

The crisis was a dual knife weapon that had curvy edges similar to the weapon Kris. Its handle had suction properties so it wouldn't fall from the hands of the wielder easily.

"It's a lot better weapon than Rafiery but Rafiery was a good partner for my passive [Weakpoint]. This one deal in more fast and flashy pursuit, unless I was fighting an enemy with a minuscule amount of health, then this would be a great weapon to deal with them but I'm fighting monsters that exceed tens to hundreds of millions of health! I'll be exhausted before I could kill it."

Xerel inspected Crisis and began practicing with it. He slashed diagonally, vertically, and sideways. He continued to practice on the dunes, his movements became faster and quicker as times passed. He rotated his body clockwise, along with the two daggers, he formed an instant tornado with his speed.

Wwooooossh!!

Xerel stopped spinning and the tornado disappeared.

"I should've used this against Thorfinn. Maybe I could stand a chance against him. I got so used to dealing with bigger opponents that I forgot that I might have to deal with other opponents that has the same size as me."

He pondered to himself. He opened his window panel and checked other items he could use. He realized that he still has a lot of elemental scrolls that he didn't use since he couldn't put in mind how much of a use it was if he couldn't conjure the elements.

"I still don't have the slightest idea how I can use these elements. Other than the bonus effect from items that have elemental requirements, I can't even use it practically."

Xerel sat on the sand and started using the elemental scrolls. After a few minutes, he finally used up all of them and the result was.

Ting~

[+140 FIRE ELEMENT

+120 WATER ELEMENT

+130 TERRA ELEMENT

+110 WIND ELEMENT

+120 NATURE ELEMENT]

[+10 SPACE ELEMENT

+30 DARK ELEMENT

+30 LIGHT ELEMENT

+25 POISON ELEMENT

+40 LIGHTNING ELEMENT

+10 BLOOD ELEMENT]

"There's no change in my body, I don't even feel a tingling or whatnot. It's still good that I gained 10 space elements, I need it to open a portal back to my world. Oh speaking of skills, I should use some runestones too."

Xerel had over 100+ runestones which he gained from slaying monsters, he wanted to use it but this time he was more careful. He chooses the best runestones to absorb and as he expected, there was a 10 skill limit cap, luckily he picked the best ones to learn. Excluding the system skills he earned as a reward for reaching certain points in an attribute, he had four skills; [WeakPoint], [Terra-forma Spiked Shell], [Rift Distortion], and [Fallen Chamber].

These are the six skills he learned.

Xerel was very satisfied with the skills. A large grin was etched on his face as he couldn't hold back the joy so he started jumping up and down on the sands. His jump would exceed kilometers high but he wasn't surprised by this fact and continued to jump like a child given a gift on Christmas.

Suddenly, goosebumps spread to his body as cold shivered his spine. He stopped jumping and averted his gaze through the distance.

There was a sandstorm kilometers away from him and inside the sandstorm was a silhouette of a person.

'It's humanoid, and it's strong! It's closing into my distance and very fast!'

Xerel wanted to run away having the thought of fighting another monster like Thorfinn but before he could look back, the humanoid was already 100 meters away from him.

Having the realization that he could not escape, Xerel had no choice but to face it.

'It has quite the monstrous aura and the vibe I'm getting from it feels odd...'

Xerel and the humanoid locked gazes with each other. The humanoid was wearing a dark cloak that covered most of its body but with its glowing yellow eyes and suffocating pressure just being near it would kill you.

With both Crisis in his hand, Xerel was ready for combat. He gulped his nervous saliva and calmed himself. By being at peace and heightening his senses, Xerel could predict the possible movements of the humanoid.

From the waist of the humanoid was a purple scabbard. It unsheathed its weapon revealing a blade that was imbued in the purple aura as lights of butterflies spread around it.

'Are those, butterflies? What the hell am I looking at?'

Xerel was mesmerized by the view of butterflies fluttering around the humanoid almost to the point of being hypnotized.

'So...pretty.'

Xerel's eyes felt drowsy and as soon as he closed his eyes, the humanoid dashed towards him full of killing intent as it rose its sword and slash Xerel in half.

Tsang!!

Thankfully, Nirvana returned Xerel to his senses and blocked the sword with Crisis.

'It's an elf! A dark elf!'

Xerel slashed diagonally to parried the overbearing sword as he dashed back away.

"Wait! Let's talk!"

Xerel used [Mana Translation] to try and communicate with the dark elf but it simply stood there.

"..."

The elf didn't speak a word. It continued to pursue Xerel as it started weaving its sword.

Tang! Tang! Tang!

Sparks flickered as Xerel blocked the strikes of the sword. Each one was so heavy that it would break his wrists if it continued but thankfully with his thickened bones, he only felt a stinging pain.

'Her attacks are so weird, each sword looks so slow that even without my movement prediction blocking it looks easy but then it just hits me at a ridiculously fast rate!'

"Shieuw dhegejou hshou"

The elf muttered gibberish words and began peculiarly waving her sword. Then traces of purple light was left on the air from the movements of the sword until it had formed an insignia of a butterfly.

Bloom!

Countless butterflies fluttered towards Xerel. The butterflies swarmed and stuck to him like super glue.

"Shit! [Thousand Cube]!"

The dark elf was ready to land a final blow. As she rose in the sky, butterfly wings spread to her back dazzlingly.

With the weakening effect stacking up to -200% a single hit was enough to kill Xerel but as soon as the sword was about to strike Xerel in his head, out of nowhere, a glass cube encased the dark elf before she could even react to it.

Clang!

Both of them were stuck. Xerel was weakened so bad that he could move his body so he was laying on the ground covered with butterflies while the dark elf was banging and slashing the cube but to no avail.

"Now that we're both sealed in a position, will you talk now?"

Xerel looked at the helpless dark elf. Her hoodie had fell down while hitting the unbreakable barrier. She was such a beautiful maiden that Xerel couldn't help but gape in shock at her beauty. (Although he couldn't actually open his mouth since his muscles had been weakened, it was the expression he would be making.).

She had greyish skin, black sclera, and yellow pupils. Her hair was white as snow, sharp nose, luscious grey lips, and pointy ears. She showed an angry look at Xerel as she continue to hit the barrier.

"Release me, you filthy man!"

The dark elf angrily spoke to Xerel using [Mana Translation] and his eyes widened as she was in awe listening to her voice that sounded like a goddess.

"Oh, so you can actually talk!"
