1 Prologue

50 years before our story begins, a baby was born with a soft glow in its eyes. The nurses in the office noticed the young girl's eyes right away. Her eyes were a beautiful amber, like when the sun is just about to go under the horizon; this was the perfect description considering her eyes were glowing just like the sun. Her parents didn't care. In fact her parents weren't even in the same room as her. The poor girl had been abandoned by the ones who were supposed to love her the most; to them she was just a mistake. She was placed with a foster family, until she was 6 months old.

One day while her foster father was working and foster mom was cooking, the girl (now named Julia) was playing with her toys. Julia's mom walked over to where Julia was playing, to play with her while she waited for the kitchen timer to go off; about 10 minutes. Julia's mom was quite beautiful, she had beautiful blond hair that was naturally in soft beach wave. Her face looked so perfect it was hard to believe that it was even real. Her physique was the envy of many and she was a little taller than average; she was perfect. Julia loved her like a real mom, but when the timer went off, reality hit young Julia like a brick wall. After about 5 minutes of playing, Julia decided to show her mom a trick she learned. Julia pointed at the block her mom was fumbling with, closed her eyes and imagined really hard that the block floated out of her mom's hand.

Julia's concentration was starting to worry her mother because Julia sat in what seemed like a trance for over a minute. Then it happened. The wooden block floated out of her mother's hand into midair. Her foster mom panicked, which was reasonable considering a 6 month old just made a block float like it was a cloud about to rain. Quickly she made some calls, and within minutes, three big and harsh looking government agents came to the house and took Julia. (Julia didn't know it at the time, but her supposed country house was actually an artificial house on a government base so the government could closely observe her in a controlled environment. A base that Julia will soon call home with her brothers and sisters.) Just as the door to the house closed the kitchen timer went off, buzzing in her ears like a bee trying to get to its hive.

The truth that Julia faced that day was that people were always going to be afraid of her, and her kind that was to come in the future.

Society will never accept MYSTICS.

And no one can change that, or so she thought.

In the next episode of Mystics, you will meet the mysterious, scrawny, and pale protagonist, Ethan. From there you will follow him through his unforgiving world.
