2 A bad dream

"Hurry up, hide in there!" said a woman with a blurred-out face and long black hair while shoving him into a cupboard.

Suddenly, there was a noise like wood breaking and a loud thud on the floor, and a deafening crash like glass breaking and thudding footsteps. "HEY! HEY! ALEX!"

Alex woke up to feeling something wet on his cheeks,

"Gosh, why am I friends with such a weirdo?" sighed a black-haired boy with a messy hairdo "Shut it James, if I am a weirdo, what does that make you?" Alex said with a grin on his face.

"EW! THATS CREEPY!" Alex woke up in a bed with a grin on his face and realized that all of that was just a dream. He looked around and glanced at his surroundings. He saw that there was one other bed on his left and a huge TV hanging on the wall opposite him. On the bed to his left is someone with brown hair and green eyes and freckles with a disgusted look on his face, "What Connor?"

"You were smirking ear to ear," said Connor in a creeped-out tone. "

Honestly, the fact that you were watching me while I was sleeping was creepier" Alex retorted while hopping off his bed.

He checked his wristwatch which displayed 08:10 and walked to the toilet where he brushed his teeth. When he was done, he walked out, and when he walked out his wristwatch was vibrating while shining neon red.

Alex looked at his watch and knew what to do. He sprinted back to the room in time to see two parts of the wall swing open like those secret bookshelves and on the newly swung open wall was a black suit that he pulled on and looked right and saw Connor in his suit with the cape jumping down a hole and followed suit.

The pair saw two other people who are their age and were girls in the same suits and one serious-looking man in a white suit and red tie and approached them.

They then proceeded to look at their surroundings and were still wowed even though they see it so often, it was a huge room with shiny white walls, a black jet, a black hummer, a helipad with a black helicopter, and a multitude of suits. There was also a huge mechanical door that slides down with a runway on the other side and another door above them and it was all built on top of the house that the four operatives, Alex, Connor, Claire, and Mei lived in, but of course, they lived in 2 different sections and the only place they could interact was the living room and the kitchen.

"Right, are you kids ready?" the man in the suit said. They all were slightly ticked off by that comment, because they had gone on life-threatening missions and they were still treated like kids but, they knew that there was no point in talking back so they all grumbled, "okay" in a deadpan, annoyed voice except for Connor who looked down and said in a small voice.

"You are going to Egypt today to capture one of the top dogs and because he is an infiltrator from the organization's which was formed 20 years ago because news of supernatural events was happening across the world near craters formed by asteroids hitting the earth. We had been covering up the truth but they had found out about the elementals because one of the higher ranked people in our govt leaked info and had been trying to get their hands on them ever since.

His name is Roman Christianson." He then pulled up a picture on his phone and showed it to the group.

The four operatives were sitting down with the two boys sitting opposite the girls in the jet on the journey to Egypt in complete silence until Mei decided to break the awkwardness by starting a conversation "What did you think about that guy" and Claire replied by saying "That guy has an overinflated ego" everyone except Connor was talking bad about him and what they would do to him if they could until they fell asleep.

When they were flying over Cairo, specifically Rehab city, they were woken up forced out of the plane mid-air.

They were hurtling down at high speeds and they thought it was actually quite comical because their faces were contorted in weird shapes because they were sure that Connor would slow down their descent with his Air ability which he could use to control the wind and air so that it was more like they were gliding not falling to their death.

But Connor was a bit angry because he was basically their parachute, so he let them fall a bit longer than he usually does to frighten them, and sure enough, they were terrified.

When they could see the details on the housing, Connor activated his ability and they landed on an apartment complex.

Claire, Mei, and Alex were mad at Connor so they started yelling at him but stopped because they were starting to gain attention from the pedestrians so they stopped and quickly jumped over to a park and into a tree with the help of Connors ability and sat down on a branch.

Claire then pressed her wristwatch and said "We are ready and in position."

A voice seemed to have come from the watch and told them the location of the house. They then went to the roof of the building and used Connor's ability as a sort of rappel to lower themselves towards the closest window.

Alex then used his fire ability to melt the window and Mei then used her water ability to quickly cool it down.

The four hopped through the window and into a room. It was very dark so Alex instinctively activated his fire ability which lit up his surroundings and looked around.

They were in a room with wallpapers of superheroes and a cupboard and a wardrobe and a bed with a child who looked like a 13-year-old. "Isn't he, like our age?" asked Claire. "This is kind of messed up, aren't we taking away the father of an innocent child." Alex got mad, "DIDN'T YOU HEAR THE BRIEFING, THEY TOLD US THAT THEY WOULD DO ANYTHING TO KILL US LIKE THEY DID OUR PARENTS!" The child woke up and started screaming at the fact that there were four people were standing in his room and one of them was holding fire.

"Well great, look what this meaningless chatter has gotten us?" Alex thought while rolling his eyes.

Claire ran to him to shut his mouth but they already knew that the damage was done. Roman ran into the room.
