A Shadow
Just a morning. A waitress standing in a restaurant for early shift. She is waiting for her colleagues to start the day. It's her last working day.
GATE OPENS there is some loud arguments of two man entering the restaurant.
Man 1 : I am tired of this job. We have no ingredients for today.
Man 2 : Our dealer is coming in few hours. We can start with soups for now.
Man 1 : Jasmine wait outside for truck. I can't wait to serve my latest creation. My new recipe "PARNISMA".
The waitress leave the restaurant to see a truck full of vegetables and fruits and some meat.
She sees a glass door where she observe her Restaurant Title which is half broken. "BLUE ELL". She reads.
A honk from few meters away becomes clear and a truck stops at the door of restaurant.
A man crosses Jasmine's path and drops some stuff at the door.
Jasmine : can't you respect me I was standing here to attend you?
The man leaves without saying a thing.
She enters the restaurant and pick up the stuff and place it in the fridge.
Man 1 : Thanks. It is your half day I suppose. So what are your plans for future?
Jasmine : I'll just find a man to get married. Then I'll find a job and this is it.
She seems happy to answer any question about her future planning.
Man 2 : That's great. All the best and congrats. I have a friend there he is single and may be you will love his company.
She feels happy and her eyes are now shining with joy and happiness.
Jasmine : Well, thank you. Please tell my parents about this they will be happy. You see people in my age are already married. I hope this time I get my soul mate.
Man 2 : Sure. I will definitely talk to your parents.
The man smiles and leaves the conversation.
After a hectic schedule of work Jasmine leaves in half day.
She finds her room and there she sleeps well. In the evening she wake up to cook dinner and pack her stuff.
She hears knock on her neighbour's door. A man drops a parcel. Packed with mirror and flowers.
The neighbor leaves the glass out side the room and takes flowers in.
Jasmine opens her door and check this mirror. She see her door, name plate. But she can't find her reflection.
She gets worried and scared.
Jasmine : Why there is no Shadow of me? May be this is a trick mirror.
She put the mirror back to its place and enter her room.
She smells something awful and check her room for some dead rat or dirty clothes.
She checks her bed. She finds her body under the bed. Dead and cold.
Jasmine Smiles and room becomes dark and cold.
This is a mystery about events. Jasmine is a joyful but mannered person. She wants people to ask her about herself. She hates mean and self centered people. She wants to marry someone of her age. She is caring. Only whom she loves sees her true self. That is why these two man can see her.
The shadow of jasmine is not in mirror because she has died already. Lots of stress and work with so much of loneliness that she can't bear. So she smiles when she finds herself dead. Now she is in peace.
