18 The First Four

The students turned back, hearing the commotion as the family leaders present burst forth with the pressure from their mana cultivation. Macarthur stepped in front of Regius and exerted the same pressure as Regius smiled at the leaders.

"He has to die Macarthur, the four of us may not be able to do anything to you but the other leaders will come." said Jason from the side.

Regius let out a short laugh before speaking out loud "Wow I guess you won't even act like you guys aren't scared of people knowing the truth but don't worry I have no intention of" At this point, Regius stopped and used mana to project his voice "telling everyone that the ten families are cowards who attacked my injured father so that you could take what was his!"

Kylie leaped forward first, a flaming whip appearing in her hands. "We have to silence him!". Regius looked unbothered as time seemed to slow to a crawl and a fist made of ice bigger than her body slammed into her.

Thanks to the weather here, none of them noticed that Macarthur's spell snow alert had been active since the moment Regius appeared. Hilford called forth his Astra, a giant Warhammer, and lightly swung at the fist shattering it. Jason and Chris both shot forward at lightning-fast speeds with ornate swords in hand.

Macarthur got into a wide stance with his arms wide before A pair of gauntlets that went up to his elbow appeared and afterward everything they covered disappeared like it had been cut off. It dawned on Regius that Macarthur's Astra had been what he used to trick them into thinking he had 1 arm all those years ago.

Macarthur's invisible hands came to a close around Jason and Chris's throat despite them not being in range just yet and with a yank, they were in front of them and yanked off of their feet and slammed into the ground. He then threw them at the other 2 before clapping his invisible hands together and bringing them up to his mouth while inhaling.

"Concept Spell Ice Dragons Breath.".

A wave of cold blasted towards the 4 as Macarthur exhaled, causing Hilford to throw up walls of earth whileKylie twirled her whip to create a zone of flame to keep the spell from consuming them. Hilford raised his hammer high as mana began to gather at it but as he opened his mouth to speak, a cough echoed in everyone's ears that drew everyone to a pause.

The Dean Of Admissions Devlin strode before the 2 parties with a disapproving glare.

"You are interrupting adventure union business, not to mention the entrance exam of the Merlin university. Any further interruptions to the process will cause your children to fail immediately and you will be asked to leave.

Not to mention the fact that the four of you have your hands full with just Macarthur. I wonder if you'll manage if I step in to give him a hand."

He then turned to Regius "Young master Lowe I have been told to apologize on behalf of the adventure union for failing to properly uphold justice many of us at the union are also under the impression that no matter what the news said Your father was a great man and either way what does that have to do with an 18-year-old boy. The Headmaster is very much looking forward to the results of your exam this way please."

He bent his body forward slightly and held his left arm forward indicating where to go. Regius cocked his head to the side at Macarthur which prompted Macarthur to respond "Not everyone is against ya kid your father had plenty of friends that didn't betray him, but the betrayal happened at a turbulent time by the time any of them could learn of it it was too late one might say it's like they knew the perfect day in which your father would be most vulnerable."

Regius nodded back at him while turning to face the family leaders. "Sometime soon I won't need Macarthur to protect me and when that time comes, know that there is no mercy between us and no one will stop me clean your necks and wait for me." He finally looked to Kyrie Kord, the person who put him through years of agony "You'll die first".
