11 Separation

The bike was sleek and black but as it was uncovered the whole thing seemed to pulse and what looked like a skeletal structure of a dog was depicted on the side in the same off-white as bone. It came to a head at the handlebars which between them were 3 identical skeletal skulls.

"Your father grew up with a pet dog but when mana came back to the world and the animals started to mutate it became a Cerberus it wouldn't be until many years later that it would sacrifice itself to save not only your father but me as well. In his grief or maybe madness he grafted its bones onto the armor plating on the side of his everyday bike and replaced the engine with its heart. It was one of the first mana engines ever created. It's when we realized that we could use the hearts of mana monsters to power things because they don't pump blood like a normal heart, they pump pure elemental mana. Cerberus here runs on concentrated fire mana.

Your father tried to transplant the brain and give his creation intelligence but ultimately he failed. In the past couple of years though I have made modifications to her though. Her mana engine and plating are all state of the art."

Regius approached the bike and sat down on it. The seat was comfortable but he was still a little too small for it but he would certainly grow into it. Regius got off of the bike and stroked the heads that sat on the front of it.

"Thanks for taking care of it, old man." Said Regius.

Macarthur ignored the snide remark and continued

"Other than that Regius most of his creations were spread around after his death, he kept the majority of his things at you guy's home, and when you guys lost that in the attack the families split his creations and published them. Your father is responsible for most of our technological advancements in the past couple of years," said Macarthur.

Regius shook his head as he could feel his anger rising.

" Is there anything the ten families didn't take from me old man?" said Regius.

Macarthur put his hand on his chin and thought a bit before answering

"Not really but that brings us to my next question and I want you to give it some real thought before you answer me. I've been thinking about you and Peter a lot recently and I know you are content to turn the families into a river of blood but Peter is not you. I don't think he has it in him to swim through an ocean of blood to get his revenge. The boy is honestly too kind which baffles me knowing what you boys have gone through. I think it would be good for him to maybe just live the life of a normal kid for a little bit but the problem is that as long as you are around he can't do that. He will do whatever you are doing so that he never has to be without you but your path may not be his and I want to correct that before it's too late so I was thinking maybe you could stay here in your father's lab."

He finished his words and ducked down behind Cerberus hoping to protect himself from whatever the boy may throw at him but when nothing came flying at him he peered back over the bike.

"You are right Peter is not me, I don't think he has the stomach for it either. He knows the heads of the families deserve death but other than them I don't think even he knows it. The ten families, all of us were close, there's gonna come a time when we are reunited with the same kids that we used to play with, kids that had no part in their parents' decision and Peter will hesitate to strike them." Said Regius.

A sudden chill came over the room as the bloodthirsty feeling that Peter felt on the rooftop began to ooze from Regius as his eyes met Macarthurs

"I won't though. They made me a killer for their enjoyment so ill be a killer. If we are doing this then going forward I'll take on any tasks you have solo don't bring it up to Peter, and I'll explain to him why I'm moving here. Send him back to school maybe he'd like that." Macarthur stared at Regius as the killing intent receded into him and disappeared like it was never there.

"Deal! I'll send him back to school and if you'll allow me to I'll help you become the perfect weapon and point you at the families," said Macarthur.

Regius nodded at this and offered his hand to Macarthur and he shook it. They both began to walk towards Peter's room to explain to him when Macarthur stopped

"Oh, I nearly forgot Peter says that you've been having a hard time making your original spells," said Macarthur but Regius shook his head.

"It's not that I'm having a hard time, Old man it's that I can't. I didn't know why until Link kinda communicated it with me but this place may just be the answer to that."
