1 Fog

Elias was giddy as he had won a game against his smart wife for the first time after their marriage. For that, he set an alarm at 5 am to wake up and make breakfast for her, since she seems upset about her loss in the game.

They are a loving couple but the comment of the people was he did not deserve her at all. He is fat and doesn't exercise but for some reason, she likes him the way he is.

At 5 am, he woke up due to the alarm he had set. He shook off the remnant of sleep and kissed his wife before he stood and was about to walk out of the room.

Suddenly, everything went upside down! He found himself as if on the edge of a cliff. The sound of water waves was audible and the blow of winds was pushing him around. He had to stand firm in place so as not to fall. Not just that, there is a fog that fills everywhere.

Despite the fog that obstructs his view every bit of the way, he knows not to make unnecessary movements. All that can be attributed to his built-in instinct that not everyone knows he has.

He looked around with caution, trying to see any clues but nothing. The fog was too thick and hindered his vision well.

Surprisingly, he was holding something like a cane, though he doesn't remember when he picked it up, heck he didn't know where he was!

Instead of panicking, he sighed and calmed his turmoil emotion.

First finding his bearing, he squatted and touched the place he was standing with his left hand. It felt like sand, he scooped some of it, tasted and smelt it. Confirming it to be sand after he took it close to his eyes.

He digs in through the sand three centimetres deep, and he reaches a solid floor. From his mental calculation, he guessed that he might be on a platform that was made of Flat Rock and on top of it was sand.

He tried feeling the edges where he stood and concluded that the platform of some sort is small. Beyond it, he will fall into something as his instinct was screaming danger.

Thankfully, the area of the small platform is square meters, enough for his comfortable standing.

Elias is a fat person and heavy, sadly with that disadvantage, he doesn't know how he will cope with the new situation.

He refused to look at the thing that was in his hand because he was afraid he was holding some kind of bomb set by his enemy to kill him funnily.

But, since he can't understand a thing from observation, he decided to check whatever it was. Praying it's not a bomb.

'Please, not a bomb…!' He whispered.

He moved the thing he was holding close to his face. The moment his eyes landed on the shape of the thing, he screamed!

Ahh!

He screamed due to pain that suddenly assaulted his head. Gradually, the pain subsided and his eyes lay on the thing he was holding.

It was a ten-centimetre long stick or cane, though it better be called a stick. The stick thickness is about his index finger, but it is fragile.

A flash of light came from the stick and a row of wards appeared to him

Without thinking much, Elias described the platform in detail and what he expected. Then he began describing the place, then what he sees, then what he holds, then where he is.

He merged all the explanations and told it in one go.

And everything he said was written in a single box. After he finished all the words jumbled up and then arranged themselves into five. In the order of the questions asked.

"What the hell!" Elias shouted as he looked at the surroundings when the fog cleared. Starting beyond the platform he was on, Elias gulped down. Knowing he is in deep shit, more than the one he was expecting.

Beyond his platform was water stretching endlessly. Small waves make his platform bob, up and down, and that gives him a creepy feeling, worrying that he might be in the ocean.

Thankfully there is no salt in the air to confirm that. But, if he was in a giant water body, the problem persisted.

The platform he was on was not square but circular. With the diameter of a meter. That means the platform circumference is 3.14 meters and an area of 0.9 metres square.

Seeing where he was, dizziness assaulted him and he felt seasick but he held on and calmed down. With a bit of movement, the platform will shake as if it will tumble due to his excessive weight.

'Damn it. I just want a normal life, why did I end up with an overweight body.' Elias laments his stupidity for being too lame for the past years!

He squatted a bit and extended his hand to test whether the water was salty or not. That will give him an idea of where he might be.

But, the moment he touched the water, the circular platform began sinking. He quickly removed his hand and the alarm rang from the stick he was holding.

Looking at the stick, a pain hit his head for a second before he saw wards floating.

[Warning! Touching the water body will sink the Small Island. Every minute the Island will sink a centimetre deep until you drown!]
