Nico's confession

Being rejected might be hard and sometimes make someone sad, but Nico understands that Ayaka insists that she doesn't want to be an idol, not just a school idol. Her orange-haired kouhai didn't want to be an idol because she didn't want to make μ's something that isn't μ's anymore. Ayaka understands that μ's is already perfect the way it is and does not need another new member on them. She is fine to be friends with them, not an idol, and Nico began to understand that.

Instead of being sad and angry, Nico felt regretful but happy that her crush told her that since it's the decision Ayaka made and Nico doesn't have the right to force the orange-haired kouhai. Things will be worse if she instead forces her crush to accept it no matter what. And Nico didn't like that; she also knew that the other μ's members would feel the same and agree with this thought.

"… I see. That can't be helped, then. Sorry for asking this to you, Todokami."

Nico apologizes to Ayaka with a smile and apologetic face, causing Ayaka to wave her hand in panic and reply.

"N-No, no! You don't have to felt sorry, Nico-senpai! I understand a little why you did that and felt honored to be invited, but in the end—your school idol group is already perfect like that, and I don't want to change the μ's I currently love."

A blush suddenly came over Nico's cheeks when she heard Ayaka love how μ's currently being. The one confessed was surprised and had massive blush on her cheeks while smiling beautifully at the girl in front of her. She nodded with a still smile and hugged the person confessing her love to her lovingly. Tears of joy shed from her eyes when hugging that girl.

"I'd love you to be my girlfriend and wife, Todokami!"

"Really…? Thank you, Nico-senpai! I love you!"

"Me too, Todokami—no, Ayaka!"

As soon as Nico said that, she heard a voice call her several times in her delusion, causing herself to hear it as she slowly returned from her fantasy to reality. While she had a bit of drool slipped out of her lips, eyes that slowly blinked and jolted in realization.

"…senpai? Nico-senpai? Did you hear me…?"

As the voice slowly became clear and loud enough, Nico completely woke up from her delusion. She looked around and found Ayaka with a concerned look, getting closer to her face.

"H-Huh…? W-What is this? Todokami, did you call me…?"

"I did call you several times, Nico-senpai. Are you okay? Have you sick or hurt somewhere?"

Ayaka replied by touching Nico's forehead with her own, causing the twin-tail-haired girl to have her cheeks and whole face washed in the red color of a tomato and boiling like water. It rose quickly when she realized that her crush's face was very close and touched her forehead.

Instead of refusing and shoving it off, Nico decided to be quiet and enjoy the treatment care from her beloved crush. Nico's heart was beating so fast and loud as if it was being continuously beaten like a drum or taiko drum. It's filled with so much excitement that she loves it and doesn't want that feeling to disappear, even though it's bad to leave it for too long.

'T-T-T-Todokami's face is so close! Our foreheads touched each other! T-This… not so bad. No, this feels great. It's really great… to know that my crush and friend would care this far for me alone… we're not even dating, and just a friend, but… she is really kind.'

At this moment, Nico's affection for Ayaka rose up to a tremendous amount and made her fully love the orange-haired orphan girl. She became convinced to confess her love to her; Nico didn't get scared or anything, as she just wanted to tell her feeling to Ayaka and be prepared if Ayaka rejected her. Although if she gets accepted, Nico would find a way to talk about it with Hanayo later, maybe sharing Ayaka with both of them.

'It's a crazy idea, but… that is the best option we would have if we don't want each other to be sad. After all, harem and same-sex relationship is already worldwide and have become common nowadays since being established around a decade ago. I'm sure Hanayo would give me an okay, but to ensure it, I also have to ask her directly about this.'

After around five minutes, Nico felt her forehead wasn't being touched by Ayaka's again since the latter had confusion on her face, which was a pretty adorable sight for Nico. She loves that, and not only that, but everything about Ayaka even though she just knew her for several days or maybe a week. But love works mysteriously, and some won't truly understand its mechanism.

"Sorry, Nico-senpai. I don't know what kind of illness you have since it appears you are very healthy."

"I-It's okay, Todokami! I am perfectly sure that I'm healthy. It's not your fault to misunderstand it."

"Is that so…? I'd be glad if that happened. I don't know how I feel if Nico-senpai gets sick."

Nico only chuckles amusingly, seeing Ayaka sigh in relief, knowing that her twin-tail senpai is in perfect health and has no illness or anything.

'Honestly, she could be dense too, which is surprising.'

As Nico thought of that, she then closed her eyes, inhaling and exhaling a deep breath before speaking to Ayaka. Nico's crimson eyes filled with determination and shown no hesitation in it. She is ready to confess her love to Ayaka and would show no regret if she was rejected.

"Todokami, I have something to tell you."

Hearing that, Ayaka blinked and asked Nico with curiosity.

"Hm? What is it, Nico-senpai? You can tell me anything, and I will do my best to help you!"

Ayaka replied with a cheerful spirit she had shown, causing Nico to chuckle a little before finally confessing her love to her kouhai in front of her.

"I love you, Todokami—no, Ayaka. I want to be your girlfriend, so please go out with me!"
