4 New World (3)

"Hmm…"

But how would I get myself out of this place? I didn't know a single thing about this place. I didn't even have the memories of this body so I didn't know the way around here. I was thrown here out of the blue but I had no idea of what to do. But I had a goal.

"Information."

This was a new world, or rather, it was a tower. There was no guarantee that the common sense of Earth would apply here. Maybe everything was different here. That's why what I needed the most right now was information about this world and its people.

Also, I didn't know whether reaching the 100th floor would be the end of my life. Should I trust this system? Or should I just start a new life?

"No…"

But my determination was firm and unshaken. I could not stop now. I've had enough. I had lost my will to live even before I was born so there was no point in rekindling that spark to live once again. I didn't want to live once more.

"Fuu… let's try to get out of this place first."

In front of me was a huge cliff which I could not think of climbing. And behind me was a lush green stretching indefinitely.

"..."

I was really stranded.

This body tried to die by jumping off that cliff, hence the blood that is clinging to the back of my head and the pool of blood wet from the downpour.

"What could have happened to this body for him to take such a step…?"

But whatever it was, it had nothing to do with me. This body was mine now, and I had no sympathy for someone who was dead.

"Let's go…"

I decided to go through the dense forest behind me. Well, what choice did I have in the first place?

***

"This is…"

…bad.

For the whole week, I walked miles over miles but I could not find a single soul, much less a place to stay.

Growl—

I was starving but I was powerless. It was already a hassle to keep walking without having seen any progress in my finding. Did this body have to die here? Couldn't he die in a place close to some settlements? Talk about a useless guy…

"Haa… haa…"

This was not good. I could feel my strength leaving every orifice of my body. My knees wobbled violently, struggling to keep my body standing. But, of course, having not eaten anything for the last seven days, my body was on the verge of collapsing.

I couldn't even rest because of the beasts. Just a simple glance at them sent shivers down my spine. And because of that, I was dead tired.

Thump!

I tripped on something and fell face first. Was this the end? Will I die like this? What a lame way to die… and what a hassle.

My vision was getting darkened, my breathing slowly dying out.

"...k?!"

Huh? What was that?

"...id! You… k?!"

"Haha…" I laughed feebly.

Guess I was not dying in this lame way…

I blacked out.

***

"..."

I lay listlessly on what I assumed was a bed.

A wooden ceiling greeted me as I opened my eyes. The scent of the rotting wood tickled my nose unpleasantly.

"Ugh…"

I somehow got up, struggling to keep my dizzy head straight.

"Huh…"

Seeing how I could move without feeling weak, I must have been treated by whoever brought me here.

I smiled and rolled my eyes around the place. A neatly arranged set of swords greeted me. Their brilliant shine made my eyes stare at them in awe.

Next, my eyes scurried off to the light peeking out of the opened door. Wind rushing violently, glazes of a sword brightened up my pupils— a graceful man was dancing gracefully. I wanted to see that.

I jumped out of the bed with much enthusiasm and tip-toed to the door, trying my best not to make any sounds that would disrupt the art I was about to see.

Swish— Swoosh—

The sounds only got softer and gentler, as if someone was making a sculpture out of air. I peeked quietly and just when I was about to get a glimpse of the man who piqued my interest.

"...!"

Like a merciless hailstorm, unimaginable pressure came raining down on me. I couldn't breathe. I felt my chest burn in excruciating pain. I fell on my arse and couldn't dare to look up. The bloodlust made me want to fall unconscious then and there. And just like that, it vanished like it never existed.

…what just happened?

I was sweating buckets. I could feel my face still purple from the fear I felt just a few seconds back.

"Fuu…"

I took a breath and calmed myself down first. Then I mustered up my courage and looked up.

Long silky hair falling down the waists tied in a ponytail, two earrings hanging on the ears, gelid eyes piercing through me and a face enough to make anyone fall in love.

"Who the hell are you…?"
