Chapter 96 Call

The air around the area started to get thinner and thinner by the second. Most of the spectators are finding it hard to breathe. Those who are lower than Lv.40 completely fainted.

"What did you do Siegfried?" Thrarael who also feeling it hard to breathe asked.

The skill Ruination that Siegfried casted is not even the most powerful skill of a Rune Knight, its just that he out-level almost all the adventurers present in the area. The skill is base on difference of intelligence stats of the user and the target. Its a double edge sword though since the caster can't control who can he target, as long as they're inside the area of effect, they will be affected by the skill.

However before Siegfried can answer the question a squad of orcs rush down in front of them separating the two of them. Even the orcs are noticeably got affected by the skill of Siegfried.

"In the name of the protector of Zirracannia Alliance, we ask you both to stand down." One of the orc who looks like their squad leader ordered. "Siegfried Caelum from the Angelus Guild we were tasked to escort you to the summit." the orc added.

Thrarael eyes widened and his jaw drops in shock at the words uttered by the orc, he can't believed that the sly bastard he hates actually told him the truth earlier.

Siegfried just shrugs and cancel his Ruination skill and proceed to follow the orc back to their carriage.

Siegfried and the orcs that was sent by the protector left the area, leaving a speechless Thrarael and exhausted adventurers behind.

"Wait here." The orc ordered.

Siegfried just obediently follows the orc's orders but he's wondering why they still need to wait when the other two God's Chosen from Lavierre Kingdom didn't answer the call. He's sure that the protector is aware of this fact and in turn makes her troops aware of it as well.

"You're aware that the other two didn't even bother to come here, right?" Siegfried asked when he can't stop his curiosity anymore.

The orc didn't answer his question, he just turns around and proceed to head to the opposite direction from where their carriage is located.

After a few minutes the orc leader that was sent by the protector arrive at his location where Cleo, Leah and Valerie is trying to nurse an unconscious Anna because she was near the area of effect when Siegfried casted his spell, Ruination.

"Cleo and Leah..." The orc stumbles trying to double check the scroll his holding, in his mind there's no way that a two commoner can be a God's Chosen. "... Cleo and Leah in the name of the protector of Zirracannia Alliance we're tasked to escort you to the summit." The orc continues after clearing his mind from doubts.

Cleo, Leah and Valerie was taken aback by the information they just heard. Especially Valerie who doesn't have any idea what the protector of Zirracannia wants with the two of her friends. On the other hand Cleo and Leah have a rough idea why they are being summoned by the protector. Its mostly a theory but Cleo thinks that the reason is them discovering something from the abandoned cathedral which means Alger failed hiding it from the protector or the protector's network is just that good.

Before Cleo and Leah can answer, Thrarael comes rushing toward their location after regaining his composure.

"Wh-what did the both of you do? Why does the protector wants to call you at the summit?" Thrarael worriedly asked. The only reason he can think of right now is the obvious one which is they commit a grave sin that warrant the both of them to be detain at the summit. After all the summit or the protector's domain is still a prison for the most wanted criminals.

"Don't worry dwarf. They will be taken care of by the protector. I was forbid to disclose the reason but it's not what you think." The orc assured the concerned dwarf.

Cleo and Leah who are sweating bullets right now release an audible sigh of relief. Same goes with Valerie who still fanning the unconscious Anna.

"We need to go now." The orc said.

After pondering for a few minutes both Cleo and Leah agrees with the orc's proposition. Valerie then proceed to carry Anna and follows the two red heads.

"I apologize but the protector said that we can only bring Cleo and Leah." The orc said when he notice that Valerie whose carrying Anna in her back is also following him.
