Chapter 36 Cleo's Old Self

Valerie reluctantly handed the weapon to Roark so they can check the authenticity. Roark equip immediately equip the weapon.

'Fuck! This is the real deal! This is my lucky day!' says by Roark inwardly, this time he can no longer contain his sinister grin.

"This is no good Lady Liz. The weapon is fake but I am in good mood today so I'll let you all leave" says by Roark while still grinning.

"W-what are you saying? There is no way that weapon is fake!" retorted by Valerie while clenching her fist. She knew the risk of accepting the offer however for some reason Cleo's nudge earlier reassured her.

"No, no, no that is no good Lady Liz. First you handed me a fake weapon, now you're just straight up lying to my face." says by Roark his grin banished.

"Y-you..."

Before Valerie can finish her sentence, Leah jumps forward with her Curved Sword and Conjure Sword in each of her hand at the direction of the Cavalier.

*Slash*

"AHHHHHHHH!"

A severed arm flew into the air, blood spouting from the stunned Cavalier. Roark and the Elf Archer didn't saw Leah's movements, they were simply out leveled by her.

"W-what happened?" says by the confused Elf Archer while looking at the injured Cavalier and Leah.

"You bitch!" shouted by Roark, he then launch himself at the direction Leah while grasping the dual blades he got from Valerie.

Leah's curved sword and conjured sword form and x shape to block the attack of Roark.

"Sacred Shield!" shouted by Valerie once she regains her composure.

"Double Shot!" shouted by the Elf Archer when he saw his leader attacked Leah.

Two arrows flies at the direction of Valerie which she easily block by her shield. Valerie check Leah's condition and once she knew that she can handle Roark she then turn to charge at the archer.

"Shield Bash!" shouted by Valerie, a golden aura engulfs her shield and the attack connects knocking the Elf Archer unconscious.

Roark didn't bulge and continues his assault to Leah while activating his Bloodlust skill in the process.

"I was in a good mood earlier you bitch! I don't know where that confidence coming from but I'm not as weak as that Cavalier you attacked." says by Roark, the grin and his playful aura cannot be seen anymore.

Leah just smiles while blocking Roark's attack. She can easily kill Roark however Cleo gave her specific instructions earlier.

'Where's Cleo?' says by Valerie inwardly while scanning the area.

Leah continues to play with Roark. The contrast of their size and the one who's toying who looks comical from the perspective of Valerie. She roughly have an idea on what Leah's level since she helped with their Job Quest. What she doesn't know both Cleo and Leah are God's Chosen and Cleo's God's Gift provide 12 levels worth of stats to the both of them so even against the same level Leah will still have 12 levels advantage to her opponent.

'Who are these guys really' says by Valerie inwardly, astonished by both Cleo and Leah's abrupt power surge and monstrous power.

After 10 minutes of non stop attacking, Roark is starting too feel exhausted. His attacks starts to slow down and he stops talking trying to conserve all the energy he have left. Leah notice this however she still refuse to take initiative and attack Roark.

'What's with this bitch stamina' says by Roark inwardly while trying to grasp for air.

Few more minutes passed by. Cleo came out the front gate that the Elf Archer and Cavalier previously blocking.

*Thud*

Cleo throws a severed head. This catches Roark and the girls attention. Roark eyes widened once he took a closer look on whose head that was.

"That's the real leader of your group, right?" says by Cleo with a cold look.

Cleo then approach Roark. He put pressure on Roark's shoulder. The difference of level and Roark's stamina prevents him from retaliating.

"We will take the three horses we agreed upon, you can keep the weapon." says by Cleo while handing a piece of paper to Roark. "Follow what's written here if you know what's good for you." he added.

Valerie can't believe what she's seeing. This is the same boy who asked them for help on dealing with the elite monster Magno the Cruel. She can't fathom how they can change so much in a little time.

'Darling you're so cool!' says by Leah inwardly while a little drool escapes her opened mouth. She looks like a pervert from other's perspective however she didn't care. Leah can't control herself anymore and launch herself to Cleo giving him a lot of little pecks.

Cleo didn't bother to stop Leah. "Uhm... Valerie can you please take Roark and get the three horses?" asked by Cleo politely while Leah is still hugging him like a koala.

Valerie just shrugged and signals Roark to lead the way. Once they enters the front gate, she saw a lot of blood splatter and injured people inside. It looks like a small skirmish happened however she knew that's not the case.

The exhausted barbarian lead Valerie to the stable to fetch the three horses. The airy barbarian when they first met cannot be seen anymore. The shock from being beaten by a young girl and their leader being killed humbled him.

Valerie and Roark then proceed to head out. It took them almost 10 minutes to return outside. Once their outside they saw a suspicious tent at the side of the main road instead of Cleo and Leah. As if on cue Cleo comes out while trying to fix his ruffled hair and shirt then proceed to greet both of them.

"L-let's go before the sun sets" says by Cleo calmly. He then give a quick stare to Roark before they mount the horses.

Roark feels shiver in his spine before nodding to Cleo and proceed to assist the unconscious Elf Archer and the injured Cavalier.

The trio then sets out and resume their journey to Zirracania Region.
