Chapter 21 Crimson Ichor

"Leah! Get up, did it activate?" shouted by Cleo while wiping the blood from his mouth.

"No!" replied by Leah while trying to stand up. She knows what's Cleo referring to, its her God's Gift Death. Cleo decided to not mention it a loud just in case somebody is listening.

The towering presence before them turn towards Cleo. It received a decent amount of damage. Its left arm is damaged and it also has a shallow cut on its neck enough for little blood to flow.

"GRAAAAWWWRRR!!!" once again the Minotaur roared before charging to Cleo with its horn pointing forward.

"Blood Sacrifice!" shouted by Cleo. A crimson aura begun to engulf him and his sword. All the blood from his injury and the blood he previously cough up is starting to float towards the sword. In the distance the blood coming from Leah started to float towards to his sword as well.

The charging Minotaur is closing in. Cleo step sideward and struck the monster with his crimson sword. The Minotaur's left arm flew in the sky and blood sprout out. The attack halt the charge of the Minotaur and it swings his morning star at Cleo in retaliation which Cleo already anticipated and dodge in time.

With the opening Cleo created, Leah has enough time to cast her Conjure Sword and Sword Dash. While in the middle of casting her Sword Dash she position both of her sword diagonally forming a scissor shape formation.

She targeted the injury she dealt on the Minotaur's neck earlier. With this and the injury Cleo caused the Minotaur is weakened enough and Leah dealt the finishing blow by closing in her scissor shape swords.

Seeing the announcement from their system the pair of red head release a sigh of relief before running towards each other with the same reason, checking their partner's condition.

Cleo and Leah decided to call it a day. Seeing the Minotaur's pattern and nature Cleo need to devise a new strategy around it so they can have a much easier time on their next encounter.

"Leah lets head to the public library before going home I need to check out more about unique skills." says by Cleo as if predicting her next words, he share his status screen to Leah showing his newly acquired unique skill.

The pair then headed back to town. Their first stop is the public library but alas even after spending 2 hours he didn't find any information about a unique skill that came from a weapon. People receive unique skills usually discover them upon promotion.

The pair decided to call it a day and return back to the inn. Before they can climb the stairs.

"Hey young man!" called out by a jolly looking fella with a mustache.

"Innkeeper?" muttered by Cleo while tilting his head, confused on why the innkeeper suddenly calling him out.

"Since you're one of my loyal patrons. I think you ought to know this. That raven haired girl crusader. You know her right?" asked by the innkeeper

"Words on the street she was detained by the royal kingdom because of the recent murder incident." the innkeeper added without giving Cleo the time to speak he goes back to the bar and start serving the waiting customers.

'Valerie? Is she a murderer? Can't say I expected it since the moment we met those crusaders they only show us kindness.' pondered by Cleo.

'That girl crusader is a murderer? Fuck! I almost trusted her. Thank God darling is always being cautious.' says by Leah while releasing a sigh of relief.

The pair then proceed to their room, took a bath and embrace each other on the bed before succumbing to a deep sleep.
