Chapter 12 Unexpected Encounter

Leah woke up from the sound of the birds chirping at the window. She see that Cleo is still deep asleep. Instead of waking him up she just stare at him with a grin on her face while giving him a light peck to make sure he doesn't accidentally woke up every now and then.

Moments pass Cleo started waking up due to the barrage of light pecks he is receiving. He just smile and let Leah continue her shenanigans.

'This girl' Cleo says inwardly. Since both of them are fully awake now he decided to align the last peck of Leah to her lips. This startle Leah resulting to her falling off the bed.

"Darling you meanie!" says Leah while pouting made her look like a hamster.

Cleo chuckles and just pat her head. The pair continue with their usual morning routine which consist of taking a bath, eating at the inn, checking their belongings.

As usual Leah cling to Cleo's left arm. They then proceed to go the forest and hunt more Goblins until they don't give exp anymore. Cleo chose this approach to avoid putting the both of them in an unnecessary danger.

This continues until the goblins stopped giving exp. They also use this opportunity to get accustomed with their newly learned skills.

"That conjure sword you have is convenient." admiring Leah's skill that for some reason he doesn't have even though both of them are swordsman.

Hearing the compliment just made Leah blush and smile from ear to ear. Moments passed by while the pair casually walking to find their next target they heard an ongoing battle nearby.

Cleo and Leah then proceed to investigate what is happening. The scene will make almost anyone's stomach churn. Dead Novices and dead kobolds scatter at the battlefield. Pool of blood, decapitated head and sever limbs everywhere.

The Novices clearly outnumbered the remaining kobolds however upon closer inspection. One of the kobold donned a full chain armor and equipped with a sword that has skull at the end of its hilt. This kobold looks larger than the ordinary kobolds they faced so far.

The pair didn't move as to not draw the attention of the menacing presence in front of them. Leah tighten her grip at Cleo's arm while Cleo just clench his fist at the sight they are looking at. Both of them are trying to stop themselves from vomiting.

Cleo read about this type of monsters that got promoted by the system base on their player kill count. There are three requirement to be promoted to elite. First they need to have a rare weapon or armor, second they need to be at least Lv. 25 and last these monsters need to have a kill count of at least 100. The system then will provide them a name and title to match their deeds.
