204 Stupid, am I?

Her eyes scanned the room, stopping at the wall clock across her. It was already a few minutes past two in the morning. She wondered if the grenade went off. More importantly, she wondered if the men from the Dragon Club had read it by now, and if the note was forwarded to Fei Huangjin.

Fei Huangjin… even the name made her eyes prickle. He hadn't even come back yet from his trip. And they hadn't spoken for a week.

He said she should rely on him a bit more. But where was he when she needed him the most?

A cloud of smoke blurred her vision and she turned back to the man blowing it to her face. She coughed a little, angling her face away again. "Where's my brother?" She choked out.

"Don't worry, you'll see him soon." He grinned, leaning closer to her. He was honestly blessed with good looks. It was a shame he wasn't half the man as Huangjin was. "I just wanted to see the hopelessness in your eyes, and in his."

A deep, sarcastic laugh sounded from his lips, drowning out her sorrow and making her feel hate and anger instead.

Her hands struggled again, and it was then that she realized that although her pajama pockets were bare and her weapons were no longer strapped to her, her watch was still on her left wrist.

My watch! Big Boss can track me down with my watch!

***

When Big Boss got inside Mo Yiling's office in the tech room, the man was napping on his desk, like he didn't have anything important to do. This made his blood pressure spike up, prompting him to pick up the calendar on the desk and abruptly hit the sleeping man's head with it.

Bam!

"Ow!" Mo Yiling woke up with a start, rubbing at his head with an ugly look on his face. "What did I do?"

"Track down shadow fox." Big Boss ordered.

"Ying Yue? Why?" Despite the question, Mo Yiling grumpily tinkered with his computer. "It's the middle of the night, she's probably sleeping--"

"Jade Circle has her."

Mo Yiling paused, turning to Big Boss with wide eyes. "What? Why didn't you say so?" His fingers started flying across his mouse and keyboard, clicking here and there, swiveling his seat to face the other computer monitor. Her other trackers weren't functioning, and they wouldn't pop up on the screen, but the tracker on her watch on the other hand… "There. She's wearing her watch. She's at a building in 68 Hansheng Road in the West District, near the city border. I'll activate the phoenix team now."

He dragged his mouse to one side of the screen, but Big Boss shot out a hand to stop him. "No."

Confused eyes behind thick-rimmed glasses focused on Big Boss.

"We can't. I'm not confident we can trust Xi Shenghui anymore." His voice sounded a little disappointed as he looked away. "I'll go there myself."

"Are you stupid? You can't go in there yourself without back-up!"

Enraged eyes gazed at Mo Yiling that made him bite his lips to silence himself. Big Boss leaned over and flicked at his forehead with his lips twisted in fury. "Stupid, am I? You still want your job? Since you've also been trained here at Juyan, why don't you come with me, then?"

The tech genius bristled and hugged his computer monitor, making his butt heavy on his seat. "No! I'll stay here!"

"You're always sleeping on your desk anyway! Let's go," Big Boss tugged at his arm, dragging him to the door as Mo Yiling scrambled to pick up a laptop and a tablet on their way out.

"Wait, Big Boss!" They were pushing and pulling at each other all the way to the parking lot.

It wasn't until they were in the car that Big Boss dialed Fei Huangjin's number. When the man picked up, he didn't bother beating around the bush and gave him the address right away. "68 Hansheng Road, West District."

"Mmm. Got it." Fei Huangjin put the phone down right away and repeated the address to Mr. Yang, who nodded and speeded up right away. He made sure to forward the address to Guan Ting and have all the Dragon Club men proceed to the location right away.

"Ying Yue," he whispered. "I'm coming for you."
